My Bulldog's Nose...? Not Soft?!
This is my first bulldog (a Frenchie) and today I noticed that his little nose isn't soft or cold or moist at all. In fact, it's hard and quite dry. Is this normal for a French Bulldog or other flat nosed breeds?

Poodles: Mini vs Toy
How much of a difference are we talking? A couple inches? 10 pounds? I see lots of breeders advertise for both... could two toys produce a miniature? Could two miniatures produce a toy? Or are the breeding guidelines more strict.. say only breed mini's to mini's and toys to toys? (FYI.. I am...

A mix between husky and shepherd or something like laika?
Hi this is my dog Diamond. Not a very doggy name but we won't change it as it may be another stress for him comming from the shelter. He's one year old exactly and was listed there as a Siberian Laika. But I seriously doubt he's a Laika, even if I know some lineages of West-Siberian laikas...

APBT food picky??
We have an 8 mo old red-nosed, fawn colored APBT named Kaiya. We started feeding her Royal Canin puppy food for medium breed dogs approx 3 1/2 mo ago. She was kinda put off by it then, but eventually ate it (it was her only choice) and has eaten it every day since. However, we have a 6 yr old German...

Getting a rescue dog, what is it?
So I'm getting a new dog. My aunt back home, who is a huge dog lover (she has like 7 dogs), recently rescued this dog from the local humane society and told my mom that it would be a perfect fit for me. I've been wanting a dog for quite sometime now so hopefully everything will work out fine...

McNabb Border Collie?
I was watching the Ultimate Dog Challenge on Animal Planet, and one of the dogs is a McNabb Border Collie. She's beautiful! Very leggy, lean, and graceful. I've heard the name, but I don't think I've ever seen one. Are they a seperate breed from Border Collies? She had a smooth coat,...

Favorite Terrier?
(I wasn't sure if this would go in Individual or not... Feel free to move it.) I'm simply curious, out of all the Terrier group, which one (or two, or five) is your most favorite? For a long time, mine was the Parson Russell Terrier, and then for a while the Wire Fox Terrier (still my 2nd...

ATTN: All Papillon Owners - I am after info on Papillons!
Hey guys! Thanks for being sucked into the title. I am a huge fan of the look of the Papillon. I had a Chihuahua a few years ago who was the most beautiful dog I had. I miss her terribly. The only thing I didnt like about the Chihuahuas is that they are so small that the majority of vets are unable...

Akita...we think?
Okay, I hope you guys can help. We adopted what we *think* is an akita from a shelter about a week ago. The shelter picked him up as a stray and had no info on him. They had him labeled as an akita mix, but I think he's all akita...just a poorly bred one. The thing is, he has a few differences that...

Welsh Springer Spaniels?
My sister is very interested in getting a Welsh Springer Spaniel. I would like to ask if anyone has one that can tell me about their own dogs personality or your experience with one of them. Is Sibe h. behavior/training different
than other dog's? I think it is. I have owned several breeds and mixed, and I believe that the Siberian is different. What are some of the things that you have noticed, dealt with, had problems with and what are solutions that you sought out and used with success and failures? And any other...

Tibetan Spaniels
Hey guys! I have been looking up breed information on Tibetan Spaniels for the last few days. I have always liked the breed but it was only about a week ago that I thought about buying one when I move out of home. It seems like the perfect breed for me as Tibbies are low maintenance. However...
