Getting a rescue dog, what is it?

Getting a rescue dog, what is it?

So I'm getting a new dog.  My aunt back home, who is a huge dog lover (she has like 7 dogs), recently rescued this dog from the local humane society and told my mom that it would be a perfect fit for me.  I've been wanting a dog for quite sometime now so hopefully everything will work out fine.  I have to wait a couple weeks before I can get it though because the blood tests came back from the vet and apparently the dog is pregnant, so my aunt wants to make sure the dog is fully recovered from the spay operation.  Anyway, no one seems to know what breed the dog is.  My aunt is convinced that it is some kind of pedigree dog.  Just by looking at the pics I asked if maybe it had some lab in it, but she said she didn't think that was the case.  Anyone have any idea what breed this dog is?

Doesn't look like a breed to me, really. Lab Shepherd mix or even possibly Lab Dane mix going by the amount of lip in the second pic. How big is she height and weight wise?...that's always helpful...age?

It sorta kinda looks like an Anatolian or a Chinook but those are both quite rare breeds and she doesn't look EXACTLY like them so...
Congrats on your new dog tho [:)]

The dog is about 2 years old, not sure on the height and weight though, I'll have to ask her next time I get her on the phone.

He looks a little like a Blackmouth Cur to me.  Do you live in the southern US?  I can't think of any purebred that looks like that.  He's handsome though, whatever he is.

I live in Colorado.  Thanks, I can't wait to get her, hopefully she's ready before Thanksgiving.

Do her ears stay down like that or do they stand up? I think she looks shep/lab mix too. She looks great, a little like our Gracie!

Some kind of shepherd mix.  Not sure about lab though -- her muzzle is a bit long and pointy and it's hard to tell from the pictures but I think she seems a little less thick/solid through the body than I'd expect for a lab/GSD mix.

So i finally got my dog from my aunt.  I named her Bogey.  She's much smaller than what I thought she would be, she comes up to about 4 inches below my knee, so about 26-30 inches I guess.  She's really thin and grossly underweight.  Anyway, I'm convinced she's a German Shepard/Golden Retriever based soley on this picture from wikipedia:

I snapped a couple pics in case anyone is curious.

I don't think she's a shepherd/GR mix.  She should have a bit more hair if that was the case.  Both have much longer hair.  I think shes probably a mix of a ton of different breeds...Both parents were probably mixes as well.  Shes a very pretty dog though.

Based on the pictures, she doesn't look underweight to me. Maybe she could stand to gain a pound or two..but she looks pretty healthy, weight-wise to me.

she doesn't look as bad in the pictures, but she's really thin.  I've put her on some weight management food, hopefully that will help her gain some weight.

Hm, this beautiful doggy looks very much like one of the dogs in the village I live. The dog in question is a boxer/something mix. Except for the muzzle, they really look alike- the size, the body shape (from what I can see of the pictures here), the colouration, the ears and shape of the head.

I'm not good with breed identification and I surely don't know much about Rhodesian Ridgebacks, but something in her look says to me she's got a mix of that in her.
    I'm probably wrong though, I don't know.

Something about her says there's hound and terrier in the mix.  But, she is gorgeous, and a very lucky dog indeed!

    Does she have a tail?

I am going with Boxer x Lab. The coat is quite slick and that says Boxer to me....or Dane and she has enough lip for a Dane mix, and the color would fit well...BUT I am sticking with Boxer x Lab for now.
