I'm not a terrier person, either. In fact, I'd go so far as to say owning one would drive me crazy. I know this little rascal of a JRT who used to get out of his yard and run down into the bush nearby. He'd come bounding up and jump all over you full of love, but then the moment he heard someone calling him, he'd give you this "Gotta go!" look and race off in the opposite direction at top speed. So naughty! [
] I don't think I could live with such deliberate rascalyness. I love a mischievous dog, but only if they give in and behave again before I get tired of the mischief. [

But I think my favourite to look at would be the Bedlington. Nice and racey. I've met a few and they've been nice dogs, too. Westies are also pretty sweet. If Mini pins count, I like them, too. The only terrier I'd ever consider owning would be a staffy, though.
I have been bitten by Australian terriers on more than one ocassion. One horror gave me no indication he was going to bite me at all and waited until I was happily patting him before he suddenly lunged at me and snapped his jaws shut on my finger. Owner turns around and cheerfully coos "You're a bad boy." [
:@] My fault for assuming all dogs are nice, I guess.
