Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Tequila, Dec. 1997 - Jan. 2010
I wanted to take time away from the other post to share a little bit about Tequila's life. She's had such a life, always full of some sort of excitement or drama. Here is a little bit about her life. She's been there to help raise (and give a good learning nip!) every Schnauzer that ever...

So sad :'(
One of my clients, a senior Greyhound, passed away. She went in for a tooth cleaning. After the cleaning, while getting her off the table, a vet tech accidentally dropped her, breaking her leg. The vet noticed the leg broke extremely easily and the dog didn't even show signs of pain (just stunned...

Remembering Daisy- tough stuff... (thedoc617)
Technically, she passed away on the 21st, but it was a Tuesday, the day after MLK day. Two years ago. It still haunts me to this day. I still can't explain what happened or how. What I believe though, was her passing away was a result of a dispute between my (now) ex boyfriend and I. I was not with...

In memory of our sweet Shadow (shadowsgin) Pic heavy
It was 2 years ago today that we helped our sweet Shadow cross the bridge. It was a very difficult decision, as all of you know and have experienced. He had cancer and was only 4 years old. He was a ball of fire and the light of our life. Shadow, I am certain, was sent to us to show us how to be the...

Run Free, Rex (meg)
My parent's dog, my childhood dog, Rex, went in for bladder stone removal surgery this morning. During the surgery it was discovered that there was too much scar tissue within his urethra and bladder for him to recover, and my parents opted to have the vet not bring him up from anesthesia. My parents...

Missing my Toby
I think I can finally make this post without wanting to cry TOO much. Toby was my last dog, who had only lived for 10 short years. We rescued him from a vet's after getting a call about a dog being brought in from a hit and run and being abandoned by his owner after seeing the vet bill. He was frightened...

Cowboy
My sister's dog Cowboy went to the Bridge today. Last week he started having trouble standing up, so she took him to the vet on Thursday. She said he had arthritis in his back and knees (we knew he had arthritis...he's been on supplements for at least a year or two), and he was hypothyroid, which...

Losing Logan
RIP 10/15/09 Logan lived at a puppy mill for 4 years, he was the stud dog. He had no name, was kept caged, used and abused. Eventually when the owner of the puppy mill thought he no longer fit the bill as a stud dog he was put up for auction. Yes, auction, so possibly another breeder could come...

Good thoughts for Austin (Outdoorschik)
We have a quite large sled dog kennel so I don't normally post everytime we have a crisis because I'd be taking up the whole board with just my dogs :) . But, I'm hoping you all can share some of the good vibes this morning for a special dog. Austin, has run the Iditarod 6 (yes 6) times!...

Goodbye Little Lady
Tonight we helped Lady cross the bridge. She was in such pain and having trouble laying down and getting back up. It was her time. Her original mom was able to make it home from Philly to say goodbye. Dh was there also and so was a close friend of mine. Lady was very loved and I am happy that she is...

Simon
I just got news that my friend's older dog, Simon, passed on yesterday to the Rainbow Bridge. He was 13 years old and a Beardie that the owner had bred herself. His household was joined 2 years ago by Ramsay, a young vibrant Beardie that I began training in agility last year and will enter his first...

Run Free Moxie
I don't know how to start this. I got a call from a good friend this morning. Our girl, Moxie got hit by a car. Moxie Moo Moo, Moxalicious was kind of our girl. I loved her as much as she loved me. I watched her when her mom went to antique shows. We'd have slumber parties when I was watching...
