Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Kenya's mother Dastra (Dastra vom Erste Freund U-CD U-AG1 BH CD NJP CL1-S CL1-H CL2-F CGC) died unexpectedly today, she was 15 years old.

     Sorry for your loss, Kenya.  Good long lifespan for a GSD, and a better way to go than some I could think of.  May her daughter be as fortunate to live a long life, and have an easy end.  That's what I would wish for my own dogs, too, and everyone else's on this board.

    I really hope so!  Her father lived to be 14.  Dastra was going deaf, but I was with her just a few weeks ago and she was up and about (as much as a 15 year old dog can be in a house with a litter of puppies on the ground).  I am almost glad this was unexpected, rather than cancer or something where the dog is suffering and declining for some time.

     Rest easy Dastra.... I hope your passing was as peaceful as it was unexpected.
