    The chicken is marinating now.

Throw some baby red potatoes and a couple ears of corn on the grill while the chicken is grilling and you'll be all set.

Tina, no beer in the house. :(

I am shocked, and I daresay that Deb will be extremely disappointed in you.Devil

    I'm gonna cut her a break this one time  . . . . . . I mean she does have the flu and all  . . . .

Yikes!  Thanks for the link Tina.  It was....sobering.

Why is Amanda cooking ANYTHING, with or without beer, when she has the flu??  That's what take out is for.  Got to get these men trained better.

Wierd that so many of us are doing chicken today....I've got split breasts thawing right now.  Haven't exactly decided what I'm going to do, so will probably roast it with some good spices.

Need to find something to keep me busy this afternoon so I don't have so much time to think and worry.......

PM me Jen's addy and I'll put a card in the mail! It'll probably be hand-made, but MY mom always loves those the best so hopefully Jen will too.

Pirate got his stitches out today, whoo! We went to Dairy Queen and had hot dogs and a root beer float to celebrate. Funny, I got all three of my ER bills, too. The grand total this jerk owes me is $1,033.02. Sigh. I really didn't have a spare $1K laying around, so he better pay up.

Day #5 of this weird headache, and now my ears are ringing. I think it might be sinus related.

They have had takeout for the past 3 nights, & DH has a meeting tonight, so food duties fall to me.  The kids had leftover Chinese takeout for breakfast this morning, so I figure that I really should cook something.

Deb, we have potatos & corn, so I'm set!

Ah!  The breakfast of champions!  I could handle some chinese soon.

I really wish I hadn't been so efficient with working in the RV.  That would be some good mindless stuff to keep me busy.  After what?  15 months living in that, the finish is pretty well gone from the wooden kitchen floor and lower cabinets.  I got some stuff from an RV rehabber and spent a few mindless hours cleaning AGAIN and getting all of the floor, and a few of the cabinets done.

Then I came in and checked my mail.  Sigh.  But, on the plus side, they are an hour ahead of us, so at least it's an hour less to go crazy, if that make sense.

3 words for you Meg:  SMALL CLAIMS COURT

I need a hug.  The rescue gal was sweet as can be.  She brought a gorgeous male GSD with her, he's her therapy dog at Brooke Army Medical Center. She's a nurse on the burn ward.  This woman is all heart encased in steel because there's not much harder nursing than on a burn ward and this is the leading one in the country.  And she's very active in GSD rescue.  I really admire this woman.  The puppy is going to be fostered by a priest.  He's very excited and has fostered GSD's for them many times.  I just about cried when I put her in the back of the woman's car and she looked at me sort of confused.  I must be getting old and weak because normally I am able to keep my emotions better controlled when it comes to this type of situation.  Sigh.  I know she'll find a great home but I'm going to miss her.  I know many of you encouraged me to keep her but this isn't the right time for me to have this dog.  I know I made the right decision but my heart hasn't gotten the memo yet.

Glenda - I'm so sorry about this continuing infection that Jen is fighting. I hope the surgery today will help. I feel so awful for her and hope she starts the road to recovery soon.

Boss is taking the temp guy and myself out for a nice lunch. I'm excited but already beyond starving. I hope we go somewhere that serves quickly.

Jackie ((((HUGS)))) You did everything right for her and she'll find a wonderful home because of you.

I can't imagine how hard it was to hand her over, but you are definitely doing the right thing.  She's going to have a wonderful life, thanks to you.

Glenda, also sending good thoughts for Jen.  I sure hope her surgery today is the last step in her path to healing.

Amanda, this is one time I'm glad for a virtual hug.   Glad you went to the doc but I guess it's too late for Tamiflu at this point.  Maybe for the boys and DH or do they only give it when they show sypmtoms?  Anyway, hope you feel better soon and maybe you should just order in a pizza....The respiratory issue isn't something to fool around with and REST is important.  Get thee to bed and stay there.

Amanda, you've had a bad streak this summer.  First the spider bite, then the stalker, and now this.  I think you've had your 3, so it's gotta go up from here.
