Here is Buster.  He is an eleven year old greyhound mix.  He loves his whole family so much and hates to be alone.  He came to us at three months old after the shelter found him on the streets of a bad neighborhood.  He has been making us laugh and smile ever since!  [:D]

Romeo is my ray of sunshine, there are no words for me to describe how much I love him and what it means to have him in my life.  I lost my husband on a head on collision a year before Romeo came to live with me and he has allowed me to live my solitude without feeling lonely.  He is a sweet, beautiful little dog full of love and live.

Nikki is an 8 year old Golden Retriever/Saluki mix who was adopted by my family at 16 weeks old from the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, MA.  She was one of the many puppies imported from West Virginia in a program that transports puppies from areas "oversaturated" with homeless pups to areas where they are in high demand and more likely to find a good home.  Nikki is a wonderful, calm dog, affectionate in her own way, but not overly so.  She doesn't get in the way or demand attention in any way, just content to be on her own, doing her own thing.  When she does feel a little more affectionate she'll quietly walk up to one of us and gently mush her forehead into our legs - the Burr Headbutt we call it [:)]  She also gives hugs by resting her chin on your shoulder and "hugging" you tightly with her head/neck.

Cairo is completely the opposite - loud, in-your-face, and downright funny!  He's a 5 year old Lab/Basset mix with two hearts - one inside and one on his belly, and another West Virginia import.  He's mastered the art of being cute, and uses his skill incredibly well to win over just about everyone's heart.  He looks up to his big sister and has to copy her at everything.  Not just copy, he has to be better than her at everything.  If she growls, he howls.  He's a crazy lunatic, but we love him anyway.  His favorite trick is "beg" and his best attention grabber is lying on the ground twitching and moaning/whining/talking.  Life is interesting with this pup in the house!

    Gizmo

Gizmo was an abondend puppy that was left on my neighbors doorstep at about 6 weeks old. I could not see such a cute puppy go to the shelter so I took her in hope to foster her till I found her a home

As you can see I became too attaced to this little border collie mix she soon became my dog. She was spayed at 6 months old but soon after developed anial gland problems and one of her glands ruptured. Then she had a torn crucit ligiment and at such a young age had to be confined for 6 weeks. The ligiment heald but she was still limping so x-rays where done and her birth defect was discover. At 9 mo. old she had one major surgery on her hip and anouther six weeks of confinment and here she is with the fur fully grown back over her hip:

She has been a challenge for me but is totaly worth it in the end. Here is Gizmo today, you can see how her hips don't line up with her body, part of the defect. She will need the same surgery on the other hip when she turns 2 yr old, she is 1.5 yrs now:

Cindi - when you open a reply window, under the text entry field there is some text saying "click here to upload"...click that and then browse your computer for the image you want, just make sure it isn't a huge file.  Next to that text is a check box to "embed picture in post", check that so your picture will appear with your text.  Hope that was clear.  :)

    And on to mine...

Hi,  I'm Ben...it's short for Benedict but mummy only calls me that when she is trying to get my attention and I am too distracted by something else.  I am a 9 week old black Labrador puppy, and have been with my new mummy and daddy for a few weeks.  My dog mummy couldn't cope with me and my 12 brothers and sisters anymore so I came to live here, but I am glad because I love it!  I get lots of attention, seeing as how I am the only dog in the house, and even if I wasn't I'd still be the cutest.  :)  Labradors were originally bred for retrieving, and I think I am very good at that - I am always bringing my mummy and daddy shoes, bits of paper, sometimes even a piece of my kibble if I feel like sharing.  I don't think it really matters that they didn't ask for it, they are happy that I am so generous. :)  My mummy and daddy got me because my mummy works from home - she has an illness that means she needs to work to her own schedule, and she got a bit lonely at home sometimes.  I am doing my very best to be a good friend to her, I think I am doing well because she is always cuddling me and telling me I am a good boy.  Sometimes she really has to leave the house to work, so I am trying really hard to learn to behave myself so she can take me with her.  Mummy spends a lot of time trying to teach me things, I am not very good at all of them yet but I will do absolutely anything for anyone if there is a belly rub or a piece of roast beef in it for me.  I am still only little, but I am going to be big and strong when I am older, and my heart is already fully grown.

Brando is the dog that taught me to love all dogs and all things dog! He opened my heart and my brain, to finally get the "dog thing."
He is a very smart dog, he's goofy, and serious when it's important.
Brando also taught me that cuteness counts.

Trixie is 9 years old (ssh don't tell her), I've only had her two years and can't remember my life without her. She was an unexpected gift from God. She is the happiest little girl I've ever met. You cannot get within 10 feet of her face or kissed you'll be, even if you are the vet and you're hurting her. Her tail never stops wagging and sometimes it does a whirley bird thing. She is in charge of the neighborhood, and everyone must say hello to her and if you don't belong there she will let you know.

Blue is a german shepherd/husky mix we adopted him when he was a 3 months old from Destiny's Rescue where we found out him and his litter mates plus the mother was dropped off in a box in front of the shelter. Since then  he turned into a handsome boy! He loves to chase all bugs, he's protective of his family, loves kids, loves to play, and is a huge baby. His favorite things to do is love on you, cuddle with his teddy bear, go on car rides, and follow me thought out the house. He loves to jump up in your lap so he can shower your face in kisses and loves to go on long walks.

This is Jack, my 7 month old Jack Russell Terrier.    Jack enjoys chewing.  In fact, his toys just don't hold up to his chew lol.  Jack loves to go for walks, run in the back yard, and play tag,  "I'm usually It!" [:D]   No matter how bad a day may be going, just one look from Jack, and everything seems brighter.

I believe my dog Winnie would be great for this feature.  Everyone who meets her or sees her photos can't help but comment.  Everyone says they've never seen a dog like her.  They love her color, and her ears - I think she is a very unique dog.
She doesn't really bark but she'll howl, she'll whine, and sometimes she'll look at you with big puppy eyes and she'll get these little wrinkles on her forehead.
She's not a small dog, nor a big dog.  She is a very loving dog who loves anyone and anything!
She was the runt of her litter and had to be seperated from her mom a couple weeks early - but she did just fine.  She was a little mischevious dog!  Now she's grown into a mischevious 3 year old!

This is Dora, born to do agility.  At 7 wks old, she is already taking the tunnel like a pro, learning to weave, jumping mini jumps and a climbing makeshift A-frame.  She'll be a force to be reckoned with when she's older.  Go Dora Go!
