    *WANTED* Photos of YOUR dogs!!!!

    Hi All!
We are making some changes to our community page on Dog.com which provides educational information as well as some spotlights on the forum.

A new section we are adding is "Dog of the Day"

We would like to spotlight YOUR dog with a little story about it, things your dog likes, etc including a picture of your dog.

So if anyone is interested in submitting a picture and blurb about your dog to be added in the "Dog of the Day" section
It must be a clear shot, with only one dog or multiple of the same breed enjoying life

So just post your picture and story in this thread and we will work on spotlighting YOUR dog!!!

    Choices choices...
You make it too hard to pick one. Especially when I have more than one breed of something... lol

I will send you some information on Dylan when I return. Since his breed is not widely known as most other breeds I think he should be my model of a dog.

Scout is a bird-dog through and through.  He loves to watch them, hunt them, sometimes point them, and even water retrieve them.  When he's not hunting, he loves to run and wrestle with his doggie friends. Always in constant motion, unless we have properly tired him out.  He is your typical weimaraner: works hard then sleeps hard!

Sioux is half Australian Shepherd and was a pound puppy.  She has blossomed into a wonderful friend and therapy dog.  She is the somewhat official ambassador for a non-profit program that helps frail elderly pet owners keep their companion animals as long as possible.  Without her, I don't know if I could have made such an impact in so many seniors' lives.  She's my heroine!

Brutus is a Great Dane who was dropped off at a shelter for being a typical puppy.  His previous owners sure missed out on a great dog.  He enjoys being with his family and hiking trips or trips to the creek,

ETA: well, I couldn't get it cropped properly because I'm posting from school.  Please ignore the white background [sm=joker.gif]

Shiloh is the "old man" of our family. He came to us when he was a wee pup and is now a 9 year old 110lb gentle ogre. He's my sons constant companion, he kindly lets the "anklebiter" Bostons menace him and he likes to sit around and watch tv with my 2 year old niece.

Souffle is my heart dog. He came to be with our family because I wanted a small dog that I could baby. Souffle is the ultimate "metrosexual". He likes to get his nails painted, he loves to get dressed up and he loves all the attention the ladies give him. He also loves to boss around Shiloh and he would love to flush Shelby down the toilet.

Shelby is the baby of the family. She came to be with our family because I love Boston Terriers and I wanted to add another one to the family. She's the terror of the house. She loves to menace Shiloh, she loves to steal Souffle's toys, she loves to steal Nina's food and she loves to drive me to drink. Luckily for her, she's extremely cute or else she would've been flushed down the toilet ages ago. [;)]

October '05 my elderly Shepherd went to Rainbow Bridge. DH & I agreed to wait until spring to get another dog.
A month later I was missing having a dog in my life and posted that on idog. A long-time member, Glenda, asked me if I would consider adopting one of her fosters. I was honored, delighted and amazed she would offer to let me adopt one of her adored fosters without knowing me in person.
She emailed me photos and I went home from work prepared to do majorly beg the DH to agree to adopt the one remaining female pup in the litter. Surprisingly he agreed!!!
Problem was Glenda was in MI and we live in NH. Glenda's son solved the problem by vising his parents on Thanksgiving and he volunteered to bring Molly home with him in NY where we met him.
Molly is now 9 months old and the apple of my eye. I had wanted a black/tan GSD since I was a child watching RinTinTin. I always had GSD mixes and a white GSD.
I adore Molly the Mauler and she has designated herself as my dog following me all over the house, laying at my feet and looking at me with adoration in her eyes - which is how I look back at her.
Thanks Glenda....you filled a huge void in my heart and I hope I can live up to your expectations in a home for Molly. I hopefully have many years with Molly to work at it.

Dylan is a Southern Black Mouth Cur. Cur meaning all purpose dog. Originally bred to hunt, herd and guardianship. The Celtics wanted a dog that would not get upset if the bounty was taken away from them to share with the whole pack and yet something reliable if the men had to leave the children and elderly at home while they were in the farm fields, that the dog would guard against villans. They were brought to the US, Mississippi area and surrounding areas when the celtics migrated and were widely used as hunting/herding dogs. Along with companionship. They are Hounds. Diversified in both sight and air scenting. They have a strong prey drive as well.
In the twenty first centrury they are mainly used in Alabama and surrounding areas stricktly as hunting dogs. Here is the clincher.. They tend to bond closely with the female of the household more than they do the men folk. Go figure!
They are sensitive to harsh training or treatment. They do not respond well to this. They are intelligent, very active, play and work hard as well as crash hard too. lol They are affectionate, have a wonderful personality and sense of humor to go along. They are loyal to their human pack/ family.
It has been said this breed of dog is actually a womans perfect guard dog. Very eager to please.
Dylan keeps me laughing all the time. He is fun to work with doing training, scent training and tracking for him is a breeze. Or just hanging out with him playing ball or snuggling in our recliner together.

Dakotah was a surprise birthday gift for my wife from a friend, who said if we didn't want her, not to worry, because she was such an adorable pup that any number of her friends wanted her. But she was impossible to resist and quickly became the hit of our neighborhood, attracting all the local kids whose parents won't let them have dogs. I call them Dakotah's pack.

My wife travels a lot on business on weekends, and DK quickly became my constant companion when my wife was away. I've even oriented my weekends toward more dog-friendly events. My favorite was a 'take your dog to the game' day at Shea Stadium last summer, sponsored by the North Shore Animal League. There were DK and yours truly in the center field bleachers rooting for Pedro Martinez.

Recently we decided to add to our family pack with a rescue pup, who is the little one in the picture. Her siblings were all jet black and the spitting image of DK when she was a pup, so there's clearly black Lab in her, but we took the one with the coloring. We're taking bets on what other breed she has in her. She's adjusting to life with her big step sister very nicely. I'm hoping that like DK she turns out to be a Mets fan.

I got Zoe just before her second birthday from the local SPCA.  Her original owners felt she was too much to handle with a new baby (think before you buy!!!)  Their loss is my huge gain!  Zoe is a true miniature dachshund with her stubborn behavior and guarding barks, but most of all because of her love to cuddle and be a perfect companion.  Zoe likes to chase squirrels, hike, play with squeaky toys, lick and curl up and sleep!

This is Foster. He is a black-bi "Miniature" Australian Shepherd, weighing in at 30lbs. He likes to eat frozen yogourt treats with fruit, and he LOVES to chase the cat. He is a very playful little boy, and if whatever you are doing requires a tennis ball, with him around it doesn't anymore.  He will steal that ball faster than you can blink. No amount of excercise will tire this dog out. Even after a 5 hour hike he will have more energy when you get home than when you left. His favourite spot in the house is in the windowsill, so he can watch everyone going up and down the street, and tell everyone when the mailman is here.

Darci is a 2 yr old  ;pembroke welsh corgi with a smile as big as Texas. She adores life and everything in it, especially children. Nothing can light her face up like little kids, and she can drench them from head to toe with her kisses and their giggles only urge her on.
She also has mommyitis, everywhere I am she is, which is just how I love it. Her favorite games are fetch and tug o war. She makes the abousolute best bed buddy with her sweet snores and cuddling nature.
She loves to be with you, it doesnt matter what your doing, she's just happy to stand by your side and be your friend.
Darci has been and is the ultimate teacher of unconditional love, I hope that I have made her life as happy as she has made mine.
