How much did you pay for your dog?

Emily my Shih tzu was $300 from a breeder and Bob my lab was $150 from a rescue group. No major illnesses with these two. I had my fair share of expensive dogs. Loved them lots!

Jasmine came from the shelter, almost 3 years ago.  We paid $95, and that included her spay surgery.  We paid another $15 for her rabies shot.

I didn't pay anything for mine.

A friends dog got pregnant on accident and she asked me if i wanted one.  I said, if she has a white male with a black saddle, then yes.

When they were born, there was one white male with a black saddle.

He was a few states away and we met halfway when he was ready to leave his mother.

I don't have a dog, but my uncle's dog is the closest thing to me having a dog and she was $800.  She's a (chocolate) lab and is used for working and hunting, not really a pet.

The shelter I work at has a $150 adoption fee for dogs except some that are reduce for $75 or two-for-one.

My cats Beckham and Marijke were free (speutered, vaccinated, checked by a vet, and tested for parasites and disease - what a deal!) and Posh had a $75 adoption fee.

Bugsy - great dane/hound/germ sh pointer mix (our best guess) $105 from the spca - neutered, shots, hw, etc
In fact they include a puppy kong, a mini collar (didn't fit), and a couple of stainless steel bowls with that.  He had demodex when we got him and had to do the rest of the shots but that wasn't too bad. Has allergies but they are in control now
For those that like big dogs he'd be a designer breed if they knew how to make 'em
What he means to us -
    PRICELESS!

Gypsy (chihuahua)- $125 from rescue group
    Emi (chihuahua)- free
Eloise (shih tzu)- gift to me from my friends $350

I paid a dollar for Dancer, and she was the best heart dog anyone could ever have.
I got Sioux and Maska for a modest donation to my friend's shelter.
I inherited Fergie from my BF's mom who passed away.
I bought Sequoyah - $700 (not bad considering her granddaddy is a top WTCH) at the age of 10 weeks.  She is the only dog I purchased from a breeder (to fulfill my dream of owning a stockdog type Aussie before I'm too old to keep up)

I got my dog for free (he doesn't have a name yet!). So far he's already cost me about $220 for the kennel, the food bowls, some toys and everything else I needed to get started. If he gets sick, I just have to take him back to where I got him from and they will cover the expenses - at least for the first 30 days!

It's amazing how much "free" animals can cost, but it's worth it!

I paid $150 for Molly at 7 weeks.  She is a pure black lab and the best dog ever.  :)
