This may have already been answered, but I'm way too lazy to go back and read through 6 pages - What are those things that just sort of flash across the screen? At first I thought it might be lightning, but I've seen them come up out of the water hole and flash toward the sky, and come out of the sky and flash across the ground.

Birds usually, if it's really small a bug. The infrared makes it look like it's glowing, but it's just light colored.

Why can't I get on the site??/ Wahhhhhh. For the last two days now, it is "media inactivated". I got on for a total of 20 seconds today, the camera was panniing around, and then it kicked me back out.

Apparently others have been able to watch. It still "media inactived" now. WAAHHHHHHHH.

Chasza, here's some tips I've learned:
1) reception is worse for me at night, lot of drop outs and buffering problems
2) things seem to work much better if that's the ONLY thing running on the computer
3) occasionally I have to reload the site
4) which browser I use makes a difference, mozilla is only so-so (the one I use generally) and it seems to work best on internet explorer
5) go to the africam site truley mentioned and visit the forums section, under the watering hole thread there is a section about the camera for each day,and if the camera is having problems, people will report that and you won't make yourself crazy thinking it's your computer!

Truley, I guess we'll have to start calling ourselves ijackels!

I had found some of the links, like Karins notes, but hadn't found the site for each day's camera quality. That's easy - I had been going into the main forum to see what other people were saying about it, but this last time just got a bunch of people talking about other stuff. This link is so much easier.

Well, it appears that I DO have to have everything OFF when I first log on. I was on here and there a couple of night ago - but apparently the trick is in logging on there first, and then if I get kicked off, I guess I will have to shut the other stuff down.

I greatly appreciate this tip.

Well, I hadn't signed up, but if you guys are, then I just might too!!

I see it too! It's the first thing I've seen since I started watching two days ago! I'm so excited!! ( I know, I'm really sad...I think I've gotten hooked!!)

If it's the same thing you're seeing, it looked like a herd of some sort (antelope, maybe??) bouncing and running around...pretty cool, but far away.

Probably Impala, a few singles wandered over by the waterhole. And something bigger and darker, maybe wildebeasts, were just behind them, when they were way off to the left. Would love to stay up and see if they make it over the water, but can barely keep my eyes open!

Thanks for posting this link...I think. I get very addicted to these things. I really enjoyed the grizzly cam that jeano posted last year. This one though, I'm getting totally bummed about. I've watched it off and on for way too many hours now and have only seen a few birds.
