Got this link in an email.
There were some lions out, might still be one out sleeping but the rest moved on...neat stuff. My dd was riveted!

I saw one, I saw one!!   What are those lights passing by that look like comets, but are next to the ground going away and up from the lake? I've seen several a few minutes apart.

Wow, when I went back to the pic, there was something just standing there not moving.  Flipped back to this site, went right back and it had turned and was walking away and it was a lioness, I suppose.  Wow.  That is something else!   Thanks, Gina.

That is so awesome!  There are 4 somethings right now and one of them is walking to the over to the other side of the watering hole....that is so cool!

I think the flying things are really big bugs or more likely birds.  It looks like there is something out moving around low on the ground int he field.

That is cool... I saw what appeared to be a male and a female lion each take a drink and then walk off. I like the audio, very interesting. I think the "comets" are probably insects or birds flying by.

Male Lion drinking right now [:)]

Oh, I didn't see any! I will be back aren't they nocturnal?
I don't know what the time difference is but I get up at 2:30 am and go to sleep at 7:30pm I hope they are not sleeping the same time I am.

Biggest time to see prey species would like be early am or dusk....at night I think the predators are more likely to be seen. Sun might rise a soon as what 4 hours from now? I think that's about right...so not horribly late here in the USA...maybe 10pm?

My kids came running up and the baby said "See baby Simba. See Zazu!" (we've been watching a lot of "The Lion King" lately). But apparently 2:30 in the morning isn't a real happening place at the water hole. The other site has two sleeping bears.

Sorry, hit "OK" before I was done. So anyway, my DH put in tapes of when he and his family went on a safari in Africa when he was a kid. They lived in Liberia for a couple of years when he 8-10 years old.

I've been watching Africam for several years. Pretty cool, hunh? [:D]

Isn't it cool?  DH and I have been watching for the past six months or so.  If you watch around 11pm or so EST you can see lots of stuff going on.  I've seen herds in that little pond before.  And, sometimes you can hear people talking and the camera moves around and pans, etc.

We're hearing lots of noises, sounds like a big cat type purring, and something licking, but haven't seen anything so far. We'll check back at 11, thank for the tip willowchow!

I have a question.  Twice I've went back there from being on here, and I've seen a lioness.  But, it's like the picture gets "stopped" when I go back to there b/c no matter how long I wait, the animal does not move at all.  So, if I click back on here, and go back really fast, then it's either moving or gone?  Can others see the animals move, or is it just my computer that stops the action at whereever it is when I first click on?
    • Gold Top Dog
I've seen them move lol. Sometimes, wildlife is extremely still for long periods of time tho. The lionesses I was watching were drinking then sitting...then one wandered off a ways and just FLOPPED down...it was so funny! Do you have a fast connection?

Another lioness was there drinking a couple mins ago but she's gone now.

    ETA: Lioness drinking now...

We saw a lioness twice, or the same one back again, and something on the other side of the pond, but I am also having buffering issues. Will have DH take a look and see if he can fix it and pass any help on to you chasza.

Oh, I was doing some cleaning house and missed it.  Drat.  I have comcast digital package.  So, it should be decently fast.  But, it's like they stuck their head over the water and just stopped there.  No movement for a long time.  I suppose you have a very good point about wildlife being still for periods of time.  Plus, I suppose if they were still over the water, there might be a chance that something would move in the water - so that might be a very natural thing for them to do - be very still around water.

For a site that doesn't have much action, it sure got addicting fast!   And, I find the sounds of crickets very relaxing. Of course, those other sounds I hear occasionally would bother me if I were there.  Whaaaa, I've got to go do some other stuff for awhile.

Gina, I said thank you earlier for mentioning this site - but  I might retract that since I keep trying to check my computer screen every few minutes now!   And, I couldn't even write this message w/o flipping back to the site about 5 times!
