Africam

Well gosh, infared is the only way we'd be able to see anything at night...it is "Africa black" there after dark after all, lmao! Anyone who's watched a nature program knows about infared...neener!

I've used almost all of my (and my sister's) broadband quota watching Africam- and I still haven't seen any lions!
I was too busy waiting for something exciting that I forgot about all the MBs of memory I was using...

Now I've been cut off until Feb. [:(]

    Gina,

My husband blames you! Yes, I have been watching this off and on for the past few days since you posted it.

Sigh, and I hit ok before I was ready. I have been reading the forums there during boring nothing at the waterhole early morning hours. From what I have read a pride of lions moved in near the lodge and it has upset some of the balance of animals daring to go to the water hole. Also it is the rainy season and there are other places for some of the animals to get water without chancing this one.

The lodge workers will pan and zoom the camera when they can, they will also adjust it when they can, the white out is caused by to much light filtering in atm. It is no ones job to monitor the camera 24/7. They do what they can when they can.

I am addicted, and it is all your fault Gina!

    Thanks, Gina

Duuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  I totally forgot about that key - I have just been totally minimizing, and not just making the picture smaller.  [8|]

AND,  AND,  you'll laugh at this - I just hit a key by accident and I have favorite keys on my keyboard w/o going to this site the long way.  I'm just not a techie, just not.  So, now I have africam and dog forum as favorite keys.    Duuuhhh, again.    I knew about them but b/c I hadn't ever used them yet - I had forgotten.  I have to use something more than a couple of times for it to "stick".    Waaaayyyy too much other important information coming in and so other stuff like computers, camera pics and downloads, and hardware gadgets just don't get my attention.   Slowly, I will get there - and even post pics of my guys one day.  Just too busy now to take the time to figure stuff out.   But, I have to laugh when I miss something as obvious as the minimize button.

But, that's the way to go - so glad you mentioned double windowing.

God, it's beautiful and immediately makes me think more people should see/understand this to know why it's so important to preserve our world.  The SOUNDS alone... sigh!  Astonishingly wonderous... love it!

Good morning! Actually got to see something since my kids were up sick at 5:30 a.m., BOTH of them. We saw a herd of wildebeast (I guess), lots of close ups, them laying around, eating grass, and urinating, which my 5 year old commented "Why do they show THAT?" So I explained to her again about how this is NOT TV and there's no editing! I think it rained some again, and I think I'm hearing a lion roar. At least DH doesn't think I'm crazy now, cause he got to see the wildebeast too!

Birds, birds, birds! An Ibis (the one with the long beak) and a pair of Egyptian geese, and several others!

It was beautiful! Typical cat, acting casual as those big ole Wildebeest "escorted" it away lol. "I was leaving anyways...hmmph"...
