Glad everything went so well Big Smile and I have to say I love that cone.  It looks a lot more comfortable than the other kind do.

I hope Flem is making a full recovery and good news about the tumor.  My thoughts are with you...

Thanks for asking and to everybody for the continued good thoughts.

If you ask me, she is doing fine. The side incision looks OK, a little bit red but not swollen or weeping; I am keeping an eye on it. I was able to take a peek at the gum and it looks like somebody took a little  thingie to make cantaloupes balls and used it there. It seems to be fine also. She finally pooped yesterday morning.I knew it might be a while after the surgery but did not think it would take 48 hours;. I was very happy to see poop, lol. She is eating well, sleeping well, has her energy back, and does not seem in pain. She only tried to reach her stitches a couple of times but she will wear that cone until they are out and some more after that.

If you ask Flem, she is the most deprived and bored dog on the planet. Here is her list of complaints - I am glad she is not unionized or I would be in trouble :

Flem : Why are we not going on walks ?! I need to keep all those squirrels in line !
Me : You have a 2 inches long gash on your side, Flem. It needs to close off a bit better before you can put stress on it.

Flem : Why  am I kept on leash in the yard, allowed only short outings, and cannot lay and roll in my grass ?! The lizzards will take over and the puppy one house over needs overseeing !
Me : It is around 100 with full sun, you do not need a sunburn, Flem. You know, that gash we talked about... it needs to stay clean. Same for your mouth, no poop allowed in there.

Flem : Why am I not getting my ice cubes after being in the yard, my stuffed Kong in the evening, my stuffy to carry around, my rawhide to gnaw on ?!
Me : You have a hole in your gum, Flem. We want it to close and stay as clean as it can in the process. We do not need you to keep reopening it. Once you are allowed hard kibble, the other things will come back also. By the way, give me my flip flop back.

    Flem : Hurmph ! Pftttt ! Argh !
Me : I know. I love you too.

Glad to read she made it thru OK.  Best wishes for a fast recovery and good biopsy results!

I am glad she is doing well, please keep us updated!  Angelina sends her best, she will hunt an extra lizard for her in her honor....

I'm late seeing this, but I'm glad to hear that everything went well in the surgery and that so far it's been a smooth recovery.  I've had a few friends with dogs who had to wear the cones and have very limited activity -- I know what a struggle that can be for the dog AND the person!  Good vibes for continued quick healing and all good news from any biopsies and such!

The jaw mass is benign.  I am so very very relieved.

Dr. S. called with the news as soon as she got the report and I went to get a copy of it.  It was a fibromatous epulis, the best kind of mouth tumor to have if you have to have one. There is a very slim chance it might grow back in the future because there are no clear margins to be had with this kind of tumor when you remove it. Howver, since it was cauterized with laser at the time of removal, we should be in the clear.

One more week with the stitches and the enforced quietness and the Monstresses' life will be back to normal.

Thanks a zillion time for your support during these tense few days.

Brufllmmorfg, I snorted diet Coke all over my screen.  It is a quite interesting smiley, very happy for sure.

Things are a bit more normal. We are taking short walks  and the frozen evening Kongs are back; so is the regular kibble which is the only part that dismays the Monstresses because they lurv gushy food and get it rarely. They have been trying to "ambush" each other here and there for a good bitey face session which means that Spip feels Flem is up to par... but that is not allowed yet.
