THE WEEKEND CHAT.

So, people came over at 6:30... and juuuuuust left now (1:00 am), so I think they had a good time! Maybe I will make friends here after all!! :)

Lisa, sorry about your ouchy shoulder. How long did they say it would take to go away?

I am almost home! Just another 4 or 5 hours. I haven't slept in over 24 hrs so I can't wait to collapse on my bed and snuggle with my puppies. their "welcome home" is always the best. The down side is that I am soooo sick with a head cold or something. My ears are so plugged up that I can't pop them on the plane so I was in serious pain when we were landing in atlanta. I am not looking forward to that again for the trip to detroit :( anyway, I hope that everyone has been well and all the doggies are still as healthy as they were when I left. Nobody crossed the bridge right? Does anyone feel like giving me the cliff notes version of idog happenings over the last 2 weeks? :)

I'm guessing that we're not meant to start a Sunday chat since this one appears to be a coverall......

Courtney, I'm glad that the party went well.

Lisa, until that gas finds a way OUT, yeah, you're going to have discomfort.  Ages and ages ago when I had my tubes tied I walked around looking preggers and feeling the overwhelming need to "toot" all the time.  It shouldn't take more than a couple days for your body to absorb it, but, in the meantime, I sure sympathise!

Amanda.....oh wow.  That was not a real good choice of times to spend with the DWI dude.

    Julie...WELCOME HOME!!!

ONLY TWO MORE DAYS AND TWO MORE NIGHTS!!!!!!  And tomorrow I'll be getting my new kitchen and bathrooms in order.  Oh, no oven to clean since they had a brand new one installed on Wednesday!  And it's propane!!  I absolutely love cooking on propane.

A few mornings I've gotten up and found Thunder wearing Sheba's basket muzzle.  If he gets growly at night and is resource guarding the couch, DS puts it on him.  I've asked him not to do this, I don't think it is right or fair to the dog.  Well, Thunder must have gotten it off and decided to pay IT back, because it is completely and totally destroyed.  I'm not a happy camper about that.  Finding those darned things is a major chore and they are not cheap.  So now I get to hunt down another one.  Blast.  I may beat the boy when he gets up.  Bloody.

So, I'm all excited because today I can really DO something towards the move.  Last night we loaded the stuff from under the bed into the car.  DS of course complaining all the way.  He doesn't MIND carrying boxes up two flights of stairs.  There is no reason to take my photos, important papers, etc, out and take them now. Blah, blah, blah.  Well, yeah, there is a reason.  I happen to KNOW my son and I know that  with him things can always "wait a few minutes" or until tomorrow and I don't want my pictures and stuff left under the bed and forgotten.  He was extremely ugly about it.  Hope it felt good and he's got THAT out of his system.  Too bad Thunder ate the muzzle or I'd put it on DS.

The back of the car is only half full so I have plenty of room to load other stuff in for the first trip.  I'm not at all excited to be getting out of the RV.  Feel free to slap me if I get too annoying.

Feel free to slap me if I get too annoying.

Nah, but I would happily slap your DS for you. :)  For an adult (I am assuming) living with his parent's who are already in a difficult position and still providing him a place to live he seems rather ungrateful.  It's not like anyone else is enjoying living in the RV either but it seems he adds a lot of stress to the mix.  You have never comented on how ugly he can be so much as this last stint in the RV so I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he really just isn't handeling it well this time.  Either way, you are a saint Glenda, for more reasons than I could describe.  There are a lot of saints among us idoggers though.

Karen, sending your Aunt peaceful vibes...this is the most difficult phase for all involved, especially her DH.

Wow Glenda...you are literally counting down the Minutes.  Congratulation!  Have fun getting your house in order.

Shoulder pain after surgery is BAD.  I remember it being completely uncomfortable....and there are no pain meds that will help it.  Maybe massage will help to move that air/gas around.  Heating pad will offer relief.

Congrats on the new car Amanda!  I want to get a new Trailblazer, but don't want the monthly payments...LOL.  I want a hybrid next.  Did I read you right that your Rowdy DH went OUT on your anniversary!  Oh yeah, revenge in the making.  Get him girl!  This requires the potential 4x6.  Big Smile

Football today!  Go Texans!  We have some shrimp and beef medallion kabobs today!  I'm told I need to help with yardwork before the fun today.  Ugh!  I've been assigned weed pulling.  Indifferent

Let's just put it this way, no one ELSE can put up with DS.  He doesn't handle difficult situations well, but, in any event he is fairly uncooperative and defiant.  Think teenage angst in a 31 year old man.

It is not MY fault that he's made some poor choices in his life and feels like a failure in many ways.  And in his mind, I'm soooo incredibly stupid that I shouldn't be allowed to draw air.  He is a difficult human being to live with under any circumstances, the RV just intensifies it.  He's never had to do this before.  Both places that we lived in it other than campgrounds, he's had the ability to either stay in the house or the work shop.  And, while the dogs had their really unpleasant moments without him in here, it's been far, far worse WITH him because of his attitude.

But, this is all coming to an end so soon he'll be back to just uncooperative and crabby without having any excuse for the oh so ugly.  However, once we are in the house, he is going to find that getting a job is his top priority.  I won't kick him out, but by golly he is going to HAVE to find a way to contribute to the household.  Other than biotching non-stop.

However, I'm not gonna be negative today!  Shortly I'm going to finish loading the car for morning and get more stuff done in the RV, and simply enjoy the getting ready part.  Will just have to work around and ignore the grinch!

ETA:  Feel FREE to come slap this DS....any or all of you are welcome to do so.

Going out to find the V8 in a compartment......

I woke up this a.m. to the sound of rain drops splashing in the patio. Nice! I guess it's time to get out the yard furniture covers.

Um, holy GAWD. Liver dog treats smell AWFUL in the oven. (Freudian slip - I half typed out "offal.";) For distraction training, Rascal's not motivated enough by mere treats like steak or cheese, and the dog trainer brought some "liver brownies" that he went crazy for, so I decided to suck it up and make some myself. I nearly puked at least 3 times making them, and now the whole house smells unbearable. Would it be too tacky to ask if I can buy some from her next time she comes???

Glenda, forgot to add - if you want to stop saying "DS" and start saying "GDS" instead for a bit, I'm sure we'd all understand... O:-)

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh that is soooo incredibly tempting!  Today he is bending over backwards to be nice and cooperative.  Can't figure this boy out.  A nasty tantrum does generally earn me a day of cooperation, but sometimes, it gets me a second day of ugliness.

The car is completely crammed full loaded. Every canvas bag I own is filled and stuffed into cupboards.  I'm thinking that once I have the cupboards cheaned out and lined, will only take an additional two trips to get the rest of the stuff thats ready moved to the house.  And, then of course, when DH finishes work, DS and I will take the freezer over.  There is absolutely NO sense in reloading the freezer on this end and then having to unload it to move it into the house, so the frozen stuff will take up the bulk of the room in my car, but, I'm sure I'll manage to squeeze a few little extras in.......

Cita, put a small pot of vineger/water on the stove. Just boil it for about 10 min.

or boil some water with cinnamon and vanilla in it, same amount of time.

My Dove chocolate secret stash is depleted! *whimpers*

That's the only food I hide - otherwise DH eats the whole bag in a few days. I can limit myself to 3/day, then it lasts a long time! Pathetic, I know. Geeked

Kitchen is effectively vinegared! Phew! Thanks for the tip!! I thought I was going to have to skip dinner tonight :-x
    • Gold Top Dog

Those darned things are stinky!  Glad you got the kitchen smelling sweet again!

DS and DH just went to the hardwell store for a cap for the intake line to the toilet.  Even with the pump OFF it's somehow leaking.  Makes no freaking sense.  But, it's absolutely fresh water that's leaking.  I've gone through FOUR thick thirsty towels since midnight last night.  Hopefully, this fix will work.
