Drizzle needs your help

Oh David.  I'm so sorry.  I don't know what else to say.

Drizzle, keep up the good work eating and drinking.  Know that your sister is watching over you and you'll be together again someday.

    Run free sweet Blizzard.

    Run free blizzard :(

David, I'm so very sorry you lost Blizzard.  I know that Drizzle is mourning her, too, but things will get better...

I pulled up, opened the door, waved to Blizzard and in the car she goes.  The policeman told me they had a number of calls of a white horse roaming the neighborhood.  Now another flashing police car pulled up.  Needless to say, I never made the mistake of leaving the back gate open again.  Oh, and I aged 10 years.

THAT is what its all about.  The fun and happy memories - the laughter and adventures you all shared together (although I'm sure nobody was laughing at the time).   I'm glad you're able to remember those good times and I know that Blizzard would have enjoyed my chuckle when I read "white horse" and I"m SO glad that Drizzle drank and ate at least a little.   The road to recovery is hard, and sometimes long, but the two of you will travel that road together, stronger for the relationship and love you share .

Thank you, I know it was your thoughts and prayers that brought comfort to Drizzle.  You are a true community of dog lovers.  Reading your notes gave me a much needed emotional release.  Moments ago, Drizzle took a little water and two medium milkbone treats.
    ...
If Drizzle is like me, we have long memories of Blizzard and it going to take time to replay and to savor those memory.
    ...
Blizzard looked so frightened.

The White Horse -- Oh Blizzard, see hon ... you'll live on and on because NO ONE who reads this will ever forget it or her.

Drizzle -- help Dave do this ... help him remember -- and talk about her.  Drizzle, you gotta admit -- you came out of that one like a star ... home first??  But Blizzard gets all the "good lines"??  I suspect it was that way lots of times!! *smile*

And if Blizzard tells THAT story up on Rainbow Bridge, then Muffin the Intrepid gets to tell the one about Old Mike tha Dog getting MUFFIN Lost ... except it was 2 weeks before the guy who had him saw my posters and returned Muffin.  His wife wouldn't let him keep Muffin because ... he was *stinky*.  (cos of the demodex - he was my original demodex dog)

DPU that release will take time and you'll have to do it over and over.  Christmas is always blue for me because it makes me think so much of the ones who loved it (and I lost Muffin on January 7, 2004).  But then the good memories come to the surface ...

It takes the good and the bad to make memories ... if it were ALL good we'd all live in the past all the time and miss all the good stuff ... TODAY.  Some "todays" are painful.  But it's worth sifting thru ... to find the gold.

I'm so sorry about Blizzard. I'll be saying prayers and sending good thoughts to Drizzle; <>.

I'm so sorry to hear about Blizzard.

Our thoughts are with you and Drizzle.

    • Gold Top Dog

So sorry to hear that!  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Drizzle.  I just saw an episode on The Dog Whisperer where a little boston terrier lost his friend and basically did the same thing.  No food, water, because he was grieving.  Hopefully Drizzle will feel better soon.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that Blizzard could see clearly at the Bridge, so she didn't trip on that little, red Dachshund running around up there. Teenie went on Friday, too. I guess it was the right day.

Drizzle, honey, it'll get better. Eat something yummy for your sister. Give your dad a great, big kiss.

This thread made me cry. You can do it Driz, we are pulling for you!

    David,

I am so sorry for you and Drizzle loosing your dear Blizzard - I didn't even know Blizzard was ill.  God be with you all!!  Remember, time heals all and I am sure Drizzle will come around too, just give her time.

    Dawn

    (((hugs and kisses)))

David, I'm one of those stoic types.  Just can NOT cry in public, or even around my family much.  When Mr. Ears went to the Bridge, so suddenly and unexpectedly, and at only 5 months old, the ONLY place I could really grieve was on the forum.  I'd sit and read the wonderful messages and just sob and let the tears flow.  That was so very healing for me.

And, Callie is right.....no one will EVER forget the white horse story!  And I'm so glad that you shared it, and were hopefully able to smile thinking about that day.

Oh dear,I had no idea Blizzard had passed,I'm so sorry to hear that. And now poor Drizzle--please Sweetie, try and get stronger.Eat,eat eat please.     Keeping our paws crossed.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh, Drizzle, I know you miss your sister but you need to be strong and willing to celebrate life. Please go back to eating well, enjoy the sun on your face, a good romp in the yard or the neighborhood, a couple of treats from a loving hand.  Grieve but do not despair because nobody really dies as long as there is somebody to remember the good times, the funny times, the not that good times. Life is a celebration of the now; you need to let go and find your own way slowly but surely; cherish yesterday but live today and dream tomorrow.

David, all my thoughts are going out to you and Drizzle. I so wish I could do more to help you both find peace and comfort.

David prayers to both you and Drizzle at this hard time in your life. I know you are one of the best doggie daddys that have ever lived and Blizzard was Drizzles sister. I know that the love that you have for Drizzle will help her overcome Blizzard not being around anymore. So more prayers going to you David for your heeling of Blizzards passing so you can help Drizzle to cope.

For Drizzle - Daddys there with you. You help each other to get through this bad time in both your lives. And remember there are lots of prayers from forum members that are being sent to help you through this.
