DPU
Thank you, I know it was your thoughts and prayers that brought comfort to Drizzle. You are a true community of dog lovers. Reading your notes gave me a much needed emotional release. Moments ago, Drizzle took a little water and two medium milkbone treats.
...
If Drizzle is like me, we have long memories of Blizzard and it going to take time to replay and to savor those memory.
...
Blizzard looked so frightened. I pulled up, opened the door, waved to Blizzard and in the car she goes. The policeman told me they had a number of calls of a white horse roaming the neighborhood. Now another flashing police car pulled up. Needless to say, I never made the mistake of leaving the back gate open again. Oh, and I aged 10 years.
The White Horse -- Oh Blizzard, see hon ... you'll live on and on because NO ONE who reads this will ever forget it or her.
Drizzle -- help Dave do this ... help him remember -- and talk about her. Drizzle, you gotta admit -- you came out of that one like a star ... home first?? But Blizzard gets all the "good lines"?? I suspect it was that way lots of times!! *smile*
And if Blizzard tells THAT story up on Rainbow Bridge, then Muffin the Intrepid gets to tell the one about Old Mike tha Dog getting MUFFIN Lost ... except it was 2 weeks before the guy who had him saw my posters and returned Muffin. His wife wouldn't let him keep Muffin because ... he was *stinky*. (cos of the demodex - he was my original demodex dog)
DPU that release will take time and you'll have to do it over and over. Christmas is always blue for me because it makes me think so much of the ones who loved it (and I lost Muffin on January 7, 2004). But then the good memories come to the surface ...
It takes the good and the bad to make memories ... if it were ALL good we'd all live in the past all the time and miss all the good stuff ... TODAY. Some "todays" are painful. But it's worth sifting thru ... to find the gold.
