My TWO Finally Arrived!!

    • Gold Top Dog
Well, if they take 5 days to ship to you to, then you should be getting it ON Monday!! I am keeping my fingers crossed as tight as I can for you! You never know, it may not even take as long to get you...I could be the odd ball! Where are you located, again? I am sending my "Get it to her fast vibes UPS's way!!"

Thanks!  [:D] otherwise I am back to the store to see if I can find a 4 pound bag of elk, and if not elk then I will have to but the ocean blue. I am in Southern California. . you are northern right??

I was gonna package up some evangers with their liquid glucosmine in individual souffle cups to take to the rescue for their boarding next week, but now I am thinking pumpkin or maybe just a little beef or chicken broth with the glucosamine???
I swear they are gonna think I am nuts when I go to board them.  No one ever seems to brings their own food, they just have them eat whatever the kennel dogs are eating at the time. Also very rarely do people bring a stuffie that their pup likes or their greys favorite blanket to put in the crate. My guys are gonna have their own beds, blankets, pillow, stuffie, dog bones, dog food, and liquid glucosimine mixed with something tasty. Think they are spoiled? [:D]

Just make sure it's nothing you don't mind replacing if it gets lost.  Willow went to her ultrasound a couple of years ago with a chew toy and a stuffed toy and neither were there when I came to pick her up.

Thanks Lori for your advice! I am so glad someone else is following our poop reports...love all the suggestions anyone can give. Thank You! [:)]

Yep! I am in Roseville...which is pretty much Sacramento...so I guess I am like North Central California...something like that! [:)]

Great idea! I would bring foods that you know your dogs will digest well. Also, the pumpkin would be nice for them to have in case they get runny poo!

I can't believe people don't bring their own food! Wow, really? That is horrible! They just expect their dog to eat whatever the kennel gives them...that's sad. [:(] Anyway, I love how spoiled your dogs are! My animals are treated the same way. It's hard to leave them...they are our babies! [;)]

I don't understand that. . .how hard is it to keep the toy and bone in the crate she was left in??? [:@]
I thought about that too. . .the good news is that the people who will be taking care of them are the same folks that I volunteer for a couple of times a week, so I think they will be pretty careful and respectful, plus they adore both my dogs since they were both there for awhile since they were "problem dogs" so I know they want the best for them    (although they WILL laugh at all the crap I am bringing!) [:D]
    • Gold Top Dog
I am always shocked too! There are usually about 2-3 dogs boarding every time I volunteer and maybe only 1 out of every 10 dogs has their own food. I would NEVER think to just have someone feed them "whatever food they have on hand"

I am seriously stressed about leaving them [&o]. JJ has been returned 3 previous times and he is always worried I am leaving him there when we they go up to volunteer with me every week.  It is the best thing for them though becasue with their issues I can't leave them to stay with anyone else. I feel so bad because they get 1 1/2+ hours every day of exercise and they won't get 10 minutes a day up there.[:-]

They are with good people though, with lots of other greyhounds, almost never left alone and they really do love the couple who run it and the help they have.  It is better than leaving them with a stranger who woudln't be able to control Prudence on a walk.
I am going to try not to think about it and enjoy my trip to New York. [:-] That is why we bought an RV though so that the majority of our future trips can be WITH our pets.
Yeah- I am leaning toward mixing the glucosmine with pumpkin or broth, maybe some of each kind for variety. Evangers might be too risky and they will be stressed anyway so that will effect their tummy.

I've been following the poop reports. I just wanted to say that it could very well be the liver in the Evangers. Willow cannot tolerate organ meats and gets the same issues from them. If your dog is at all prone to soft poop organ meat will do it.

I use Evanger's Hunk of Beef for Willow, all beef, no organs. And, she's got IBS, very prone to bowel issues and does great on it. You cannot mix in a huge amount or you will have problems, but I'd say I mix a good couple tablespoons in with no trouble.

I am so glad to hear this Lori! Thanks for the insight. I think the only ones I have fed prior to this are the hunk o beef and the plain chicken one (yellow can) so it probably is the liver. It was just so surprising to see this big of a change and tehy have had it for a few meals now with out these effects.

Twin- I just realized that I don't think I have ever seen a picture of your pup. . . got any to share?? [:D]

That's funny you should mention that. I spent a whole night one time at my mom's house...she has all the pictures of my boy on her computer because she has the digital camera...but every time I tried putting one in my avater it kept saying it was too large, or unable to upload. But it wasn't because I specified it to be the size allotted. Also, when it did fit into the avater it was all grainy and looked like crap! So frustrating! [:@] To make a long story short, I am in the process of trying to figure it out....

When I get to my mom's house again I will try to at least put one on this thread! [:)]

ut every time I tried putting one in my avater it kept saying it was too large, or unable to upload.

I had that problem for the first few months and only last week was I able to fix it. Photobucket changed their "edit picture" feature a little bit and actually has a "avatar" selection so I tried it and this time it worked!
OK. . .I guess I can wait for piccies of your baby! [:D]

FYI- BAD POOP TONIGHT! JJ had diarrhea and prudence was almost pudding, very foul too and for lunch I didn't give ANY EVANGERS only a little broth, but I did up the ELK to more than 50%. I really hope the elk isn't the problem. . . I may be out of luck on the bison anyway before I board them
I am very upset [&o]   I will update you tomorrow morning after our A.M. poop. Hopeing to hear you got your order too tomorrow! [:D]
    • Gold Top Dog
I wonder what is causing the loose stools? So you stopped the Evangers, are you adding anything else that could be the culprit? Did the pumpkin help at all? I wouldn't think there would be too much difference between the elk v. bison in causing digestive upsets, but you never know. [&o] I am just glad that you aren't having pudding poop this whole time, that would not be good.

My boy had 3/4 TWO and 1/4 Canidae for breakfast. His evening poop was formed, but soft....fell apart when I picked it up. This TWO is definitely a different food than anything else we have been feeding, so I am thinking it will just need a bit to get used to fully...let's hope at least!! [&:] Tonight was the same ratio of food...and guess what? NO MORE CANIDAE!! Woo Hoo...we are all out of it!! [sm=dance.gif]

So, tomorrow's feedings and from there on out with be 100% TWO. Then I will be where you are at the feedings and we can see how my boys poops are doing on straight TWO.

Oh yea...I will let you know if I get my order tommorrow! [:)]

(As I am typing this my pup is chomping down on a RMB! So, I am going to have to expect maybe some looser stools tomorrow...we'll see. I should be holding off, but they are so good for his teeth and he loves to chew! [;)])

    Thanks Lori!

Today was only slightly beter than yesterday. They both pooped on their walk this morning and it came out only slightly formed but lost shape as it hit the ground (I know that is pretty graphic, but I also know most of you don't mind the poop discussions [:D], and if you don't like it than IMO you should find another thread to visit!)... The color overall was better but some of it is still very light in color. Prudence actually took 3 poops this morning (2 on our long walk and 1 an hour later when we went out for a pee after breakfast). The first one was definatley her best, but the third one was pudding poop with very light color.

They have not had any evangers for more than 35 hours now (and even when I did feed it they had no more than 2 tablespoons mixed in) and the last 3 meals they have only had about 1/8th of a cup of diluted chicken broth with their kibble. The last 2 meals I upped the ratio of Bison just incase the elk was giving them some troubles as I was slowly increasing it. They seemed to do fine with the addition of the elk formula just 2 days ago!
[&o]  I just don't understand. I hope their system gets back in better order, I know that boarding them is going to stress them a lot and will probably affect the pooh anyway, but I am hoping to start with better poop!
Will just have to keep my eye on it and see.   [;)]

Twin- how is the poop today after the raw bone last night and THE END OF THE CANIDAE

Here is hoping you get your order today!

after reading through this thread... poop is the question. lol.

how many times a day is "normal"?
    • Puppy
Wow, 11 days, that's a long time. I always use FedEx, and they are pretty fast. The only time it takes longer than a few days is when I order something that isn't in stock.

    Poop is excellent!! [sm=dance.gif]

This morning, after last nights RMB and mostly TWO, the poop was absolutely perfect! Then, mornings breakfast was 100% TWO. I am so excited to be rid of the Canidae! This afternoons poop was great again! I am so excited...looks as if he is adjusting well. [:D]

How are your pups doing today? I am sure they just got something funky in their system and its taking awhile to get out. I really hope their poops are getting better. Probably after you are able to have one flavor of TWO for a few days things should firm up! [:)] We have to expect a little bit of a reaction at least...from starting with the Bison...then adding some Elk...so your pups have to get used to TWO and also a switch of it in the beginning. It's a shame your store was all out of the bison and such...not your fault at all. I really hope you get your shipment by Monday!!
Here is hoping you get your order today!

NOPE! I did not get my package today. [:(] Hopefully it will be here tomorrow, or at least by Friday because I am just about out of my 4lb bag....grrrrr....that is why we totally need to order way in advance...cuz you never know how long it is going to take. [:-]
