My TWO Finally Arrived!!

YES, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!

I was so disappointed today because once 12:30pm hit there was no UPS man in site...then it was 12:45pm...then 1:00pm. So, I gave up and went in the shower. Well, when I got out I looked on my front porch...and NO package. DARN!! Well then I looked in front of my other doors...they are double glass doors on the other front side of the house...and there was a little box sitting there! WOO HOO! [sm=dance.gif] (For some weird odd reason, the UPS man always puts my packages there...thinking that is the front door or something...weird...either way he shouldn't because it is in direct sun, whereas my "real" front door is in the shade. I would really like my food to be in the shade...at least while it is like 95 degrees outside! [8|]

Ahhhh, 11 days after placing my order I got my food. I am just going to have to allow 2 days to process and 5 days to ship...at least. OK, so I opened up the box and took out my 4lb bag of Serengeti Herbal Felid Diet and my 4lb bag of Wilderness Elk. So I was a bit (A LOT) disappointed when my bag of Wilderness Elk had a hole in the side of!! Angry

So much for their oxygenated packaging for freshness if there is a hole in it. So, I know it had this hole the entire time it was in shipping...maybe longer, who knows! Thumbs down for that...[sm=uhoh.gif]

I put out some Wilderness Elk on the ground for my picky pup...he sniffed it and then just looked at me without even giving it a try. UGH! Anyway, my cat (that eats anything and everything) gobbled up the kibble! [

] So then I told me pup he was going to have to try it...so I gave him a piece out of my hand. He ate it...and then I started throwing them around to watch my cat and dog go running after the flying kibble...it is really funny to watch. My cat is seriously a dog!! [sm=lol.gif] Then my pup started to eat some of it that way, and I also threw some for him to catch, he likes that. Now I open up the cat food bag. Put some down for the cat and he scarfs it right up! I really think my cat would eat anything you put in front of him. He's cute. [

] So the cat likes both the Wilderness Elk and the Serengeti. I think my pup will start liking it, but he always prefers EVO mixed in with his food.

TWO food definitely does have a distinct smell that's for sure. It is really unique. I am really hoping that my dog and cat do well on it...that way I can rotate flavors with the dog. They really need to make cat food that isn't chicken based so you can rotate with your cats. It seems most cat food is chicken based...at least the high end ones.

Now...I will have to wait and see how the poop goes! I will be mixing it with Canidae for a few days. But for now I think I might go ahead and place another order for a 16lb bag so that I will get it by the time this little bag runs out (let's pray!). Thank you ALL for your words of encouragment while I waited for my food to arrive. You guys are great!! [&:]

Do most of your dogs scarf up the TWO right away? Can I get a pickier dog? [>:]

Good question! I would like to wait to see how it goes, but I know that if I wait too long to order again I will be back in the same spot I am now. My pup has done pretty well on all the different foods we have tried so far. The only thing is that I really would like to feed TWO, because I am little bit disappointed with the Canidae. He has had excellent, non smelling stools on it and thats wondeful...but his coats definitely has lost its luster that it had when he was on Natural Balance Duck/Potato. I really think his coat thrives on foods with a fish oil v. sunflower oil. His coat was not that great on CA Natural either, and that has sunflower oil. I also want to get him off of chicken...

If he does well on TWO, I am going to just stick with that brand and rotate within it. There really isn't another food that looks as good to me as TWO...at least at the moment. I have heard such wonderful things about TWO. Either way, I have to get a bigger bag of something...and since I am switching him over to the Wilderness Elk...I think I need to order a bigger bag of that. It is only a 16lb bag...so if he doesn't do so well with it I will just go back to something else. Natural Balance has a really low protein percentage, so I don't want to feed it long-term.

My dogs scarf it, but they also scarf grass and dirt. They are NOT picky at all. They aren't allowed to be. The last time Emma refused food, she was pretty allergic to it, and knew. It must have made her mouth feel funny. That was around a year ago.

Sounds like a safe bet. With the 11 day delivery time I guess you do need to order soon since you only have a 4 pound bag and not much Canidae left.

Seriously, huh?! The 4lb bag is so small too. [8|]

I am praying that his stools, coat, and system do well on TWO. I rotate between all the EVO canned and the Canidae canned and everything has been wonderful. I really am hoping this food is a keeper because I have tried or taste tested just about everything else...and there is nothing I (or him) want to go back to....[&o]

Do you guys get the 16.5lb or 33lb bags?

I guess you don't have any canned elk or bison food to mix but I doubt your dog is that picky. I'm guessing some canned Evo Red would make a tasty combo.

Since a good number of dogs will eat their own poop it seems funny that I think about flavor matching of canned and kibble! [

TWO is the first kibble Charlie has EVER liked. I've given him almost every kibble out there. Well...ok, I'm exagerating. He's had Iams (spelling?), Royal Canin, Chicken Soup, Innova & Natural Balance and would not eat any of them, even with gravy on them and mixed with pieces beef liver. He is actually loving the TWO Wild and Natural and his poop is perfectly normal. HALLELUJA!

] I know it can be so tiring trying to find foods that they will enjoy...that is very important for me. I want a food that is not only great nutritionally, but one that he enjoys eating.

That being said...I gave my boy his dinner tonight with TWO mixed in. It was 3/4 Canidae kibble and 1/4 TWO. So, I decided I was just going to put it down without any canned food in it just to see if he would eat it, since he has been eating with canned food forever now. He scarfed it up!! I am so excited...and so did the cat (of course!). I just hope he does this for breakfast because he is more picky in the mornings. Also, I like to start off a new food without canned added, that way I can get an accurate assessment of his stools on the new food...knowing that it isn't the canned causing the problems. Then when it looks like things are going smoothly I add the canned again. But, I am so happy to know that he ate this meal without canned...just in case I ran out sometime or something. Once all is well, he will be getting TWO and EVO 95% canned. Also, he gets RMB's too (they do clean their teeth wonderfully, by the way!). He also gets fresh meats and treats.

Spoiled much?! [

I didn't think you had gotten it today when you hadn't posted anything 4 hours after the usual UPS time!! I am so happy you finally got it!
I think he will like the Elk once he gets use to it and YES it definately smells WAY different than any other food I have tried. Glad the kitties seem to like their food.

I didn't have any problems getting them to eat it from the beginning. They had their muzzles in the bag as soon as I opened it. [

] If your pup likes the elk formula then maybe you should try the Bison next as a rotation since the formulas are essentially identical except for the protein source. That way the taste shouldn't be too different.

I bought the 16# bag to start and plan to buy the 33# from now on.

You will have to give us a "pupdate" on if your baby is learning to like it and of course a poo- report once you start noticing the greenish poo tomorrow. [

Glad it FINALLY CAME before your kitties swore off dry kibble to eat only the EVO canned and your pup ran out of the canidae [

] I think my pup would have been just fine running out of the Canidae...and me too...he had great stools but I was more than disappointed with his coat on it. Either way, I am so excited to do a "pupdate" and a "poop report!!" YES!! I really really really really hope this food works well. I would like to just STAY with it and rotate within. Switching manufacturer's is not giving the best results, as I have found. I ordered up a 16.5lb bag today, so I am hoping I get that by next Friday. [8|]

How are your dogs doing today with their poops? Still green? I am wishing you the best of luck with TWO too!! He he he...

I'm glad you got your food!
It sucks that it had a hole in it and I would definitely contact Carol or the company and just let them know. I mean, obviously you can't return it since you've fed it to your dog, but you can let them know that they might want to be a bit more careful when they package the food to ship off.
I order Ella's Sentinel (that was a HUGE ordeal in itself, long story about the company shipping it off without my Vet's consent) and when it got here it was smashed like crazy. And they had put it in a nice bubble wrap package and it didn't look like it should've been all banged up like that.
Your food probably got the hole during the shipping. It probably moved around in the box and tore on an edge of the box. I don't know.

I would have waited to order more (I know the wait is hard because it takes so long for them to get you your food) to see how my pup did on it. I'm sure he'll do fine, but that food is awfully expensive to be ordering a 16.5 lbs. bag to find out your pup did horrible on the 4 lbs. bag.[

Yep. Same here. Did you also hold off on the raw meaty bones when switching so you know exactly what the output is made of? The RMBs tend to soften up my dogs poop a bit.

I gave her a cup of the TWO Bison sample this morning with no canned and no transition food mixed. It looks like I have another cup left to take care of dinner. She ate it enthusiastically with just a little water stirred in and hung around waiting for more. If the output is good I think I'll pick up small bags of Bison and Wild & Natural this weekend if they have them in stock.
