My TWO Finally Arrived!!

    • Puppy
Who did you order from? I order from only natural pets. They get the shipment out pretty fast. The rest is up to who is shipping it. ONP uses FedEx. I don't think I've ever had any dog supplies shipped with UPS. FedEx is definately my shipper of choice. Although they wont handle live animals I believe. They did my fish, but that is different. I'm going to be ordering some lizards, not sure if I will have to UPS that or what. I hope not though. They take so long I'm afraid the poor things will die! I suppose if I pay extra they will ship it faster. That is what you should do as far as the dog food. Pay for second day. Express next day is even faster. It's only about $20 more. If you want it fast, it's very much worth it. Although I must say that I like the UPS uniform. Anyway, see if whoever you order from will ship FedEx.

I also wanted to add that since being in the transition to TWO...which now we are on it 100%...my boy's coat is getting softer, shinier, healthier, silkier, etc. This food already is having a wonderful improvement on his coat. It is almost just like it was on the NB Duck/Potato. I am so excited. He is also not smelling again! YES!! [:D]

So, I was thinking I might not even need to get the Wild Salmon Oil, which would be nice. How are JJ's and Prudence's coat doing? Have you seen improvements? Also, any other things you have noticed since switching to TWO?

I am keeping my fingers crossed that your pups get nice firm poops for tomorrow! [:)]

after reading through this thread... poop is the question. lol.

how many times a day is "normal"?

Mine go 2-3 times a day (usually) but they are big dogs. I grew up with little dogs who went 1-2 times a day.

NOPE! I did not get my package today. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow, or at least by Friday because I am just about out of my 4lb bag....grrrrr....that is why we totally need to order way in advance...cuz you never know how long it is going to take.

I am sorry [&o]  That sucks waiting so long for these shipments.Let's hope for today so that your pup doesn't have to go hungry [:D]

I am soooo excited that your baby is doing good and now completely switched with firm poop too!

[sm=eek.gif] When Cherokee was on totally home made food (mostly raw, but sometimes cooked, meat, pulped veggies, calcium, a few other supplements), she didn't even poop once a day. Probably like 5 times a week. She never seemed constipated, and her poops were always great. Now she's eating (grain-free) kibble part time, and probably poops twice as much, but three times a day?? I don't think I could handle that!

I went away this past weekend, Thursday morning to Monday night, and my sister was feeding Cherokee, so I just let her feed all kibble, and when I got back, between Cherokee and Jaz, they had the yard FULL of poop, because apparently my sister didn't bother to clean it up at all. Seriously, I must have picked up 25 piles of poop when I got back, most of them humongous "pudding poops" (from Jaz, because she also didn't bother to get him more pumpkin), and we don't have a very big yard! I seriously thought I was going to puke when I walked out there. The whole yard was just covered... [:o]

Sorry, I know that's foul and nobody wants to hear it, but it was just so frustrating. I'm surprised they didn't poop in the house since the yard was so full, though one of them did go on the concrete next to the yard. [:@]

It is sooo funny that you posted this because this morning when I was still trying to get woke up, pru-bear came up to me to rub her body against the side of the bed and to give me kisses and I was hugging her and noticed that she is FAR softer than she was. When we got her she was very soft (greys either have a softer thinner hair -like Pru,    or thick, coarse hair- like JJ). She is like a soft blanket you just want to curl up to, and being white with fawn she doesn't show shine like the darker colors, but I noticed on this mornings walk that she totally shines in the light. [:)]AMAZING difference in only a couple of weeks with a dog that already had a wonderful coat!
JJ is the shinest he has ever been and he had an incredible coat to start with, infact I have never seen another black greyhound with such a beautiful coat, and now it is just getting better and better and he is actually very silky and getting softer.

I agree that maybe there isn't much of a need to add the oil.  I think if I decide to get some I won't do so for several months to give them a full chance to improve on kibble alone and once I get them rotating on several varieties( and poop figured out because adding the oil might cause softer pooh).

OK. ..  .so good news, and bad news today on the poop front. . .

The good news is that this morning the poops were back to almost normal. 3/4 of them very firm and then the last bit a little softer. Hardly any odor and they were back to the dark color again.[:D]
Now, the bad news. . .their poops are back to normal because I didn't feed them any elk last night! The elk is the problem. . . absolutley 100% sure of it. [&o]

They seemed to "tolerate" less than 20% on ELK during the first few days, but it did effect their poop even on that little amount. Anything more than that and we have pudding pooh or full blown diarrhea!
JJ was on the NB venison and rice for a few meals when I was putting him on a allergy formula food. He has a horrible reaction on his belly and his feet were horrible because he is allergic to rice(we didn't know it at the time we put him on it).  He also had insane gas (absolutely rank!) and bad diarrhea. I figured the digestive problems were because of the allergic reactions to rice, but now it makes me wonder if the digestive past wasn't because of the venison???? They both have had very bad gas too over the last few days, and didn't have that on the bison. We didn't have Prudence at the time so I don't know how she would have reacted to the NB. They BOTH are doing very bad on the Elk, and maybe they just need a much longer transition time, but for now I haveto stop it.

SO the really, really bad news is that I am out of bison after 1 more meal! [:o]

I have to go back to that place and see if there is any bison left in the 4 pound bags, otherwise I will be forced to try the ocean blue.  If the order doesn't get here by Monday, then I am going to have to ask our cat and house sitter to drive it up to the rescue and drop off the bag to them when it gets here. I just don't know that I will be able to get through even the next few days.

    Aghhh! I am so frustrated![sm=banghead002.gif]

Anyway, sorry for the long post. Hoping to hear you got your order today twin- also are you more rural than city?? Maybe that makes a difference??

OMG! That is horrible for you to have to pick up at one time! I am soooo sorry!

    [:'(]
I can't believe only 5 poops in a week- I have never heard of such a thing???!!
3 is more than enough times ina day but sometimes we get a 4th one if their tummy is upset. We go through close to 200 dog poop bags a month because we double bag the poop and don't have a yeard to take them to. [:-]

My dogs are totally kibble fed and usually go once a day, maybe twice. They're 35, 65, and 100 lbs. I can't even imagine three dogs going 3-4 times a day. [sm=eek.gif]
    • Gold Top Dog
With all the bad news I have been reporting. . .I just got a piece of good news![:D]

I found 1 more store in my BIG FREAKIN city that carries TWO!  [sm=dance.gif]

Not only do they have the Bison, but it is only $55.99 (not much more then the website+ the tax that I don't get charged ordering online).   I am sooo excited and trying to get DH to go there after work before they close. It is about 25+ minutes away from me and they close pretty early so that is the only tough part.
I am just so excited that I have 1 other place to buy from if I don't get my orders on time and they are $10 cheaper than buying from that other store that doesn't stock well and frankly the owner was a little rude first time I came in.

Oh, don't even worry about your long posts! I thoroughly enjoy reading them so much. Keep 'em coming! [:D]

No, I am not really rural...so who knows what takes so long...?

Also wanted to add that I got my package today...WOO HOO!! [:D] That's great 'cuz I think I have one or two meals left in that 4lb bag. But you want to hear something horrific? This 16.5lb bag that I just received has a HOLE IN IT!! [:@] Just like the 4lb bag! GRRR...what is up with that? It is completely terrible, and not only that they still have NOT responded to my e-mail that I sent them on Sept. 14 in regards to the first holey bag! [:(] Not liking that at all....

Anyway...I am so sad to hear about the Elk problem. They could very well be sensitive to that Elk and it could have been the Venision in the NB. It is so difficult to find that darn allergen, huh? I really hope you are able to get some more bison. If not, then the Ocean Blue should be OK because that does not have Venison, Elk, or grains. Thankfully! Also, since the Bison has Salmon Meal as the second ingredient, the Ocean Blue shouldn't be too much of a change...let's hope. But once you are able to either be on Bison or Ocean Blue for awhile, then we can really see how the poops are doing with a constant food. Poor babies! [&o]

I am so happy that their coats are getting even better. I know it is hard to believe for me because I was only in the transitioning phase and he was getting better. Even my mom commented on his coat without me saying anything. [:)]

    Go get that Bison! [:D]

I KNOW. . . .I have to go get it. .   and I am so freakin excited your order came!!!!

I can't believe the hole again! I tried to call a couple of time today to get a "more accurate" list of California stores carrying TWO and no one ever answers the phone. [sm=angry.gif]
It is really discuraging that their customer service is so poor especially considering how high quality their food is

I went just a bit ago and got the last small (4 pound) bag they had at the other place close by and then DH is gonna go tomorrow after work or I will go Saturday to the other place I found and get the "Big Bag O' Bison!".  Then it won't matter when my order comes in because I will just have it waiting for me to use when we get back form NY.  I will of course need to put in another order immediatly after we get back.   [;)]

[:D]So your pups poop is good, no more canidae, great looking coat in a very short period of time and your order came in (unfortunately with hole #2).  Did you try to e-mail that Carol lady who posted on here a few weeks back? I e-mailed her weeks ago but never got a responce, but maybe you should e-mail her and mention your frustration. They need to know that their bags are getting holes in them during shipping. Soemthing needs to change from their end of the shipping.

Are you going to put in your next order soon??
