Shelly~
I also wanted to add that since being in the transition to TWO...which now we are on it 100%...my boy's coat is getting softer, shinier, healthier, silkier, etc. This food already is having a wonderful improvement on his coat. It is almost just like it was on the NB Duck/Potato. I am so excited. He is also not smelling again! YES!!
So, I was thinking I might not even need to get the Wild Salmon Oil, which would be nice. How are JJ's and Prudence's coat doing? Have you seen improvements? Also, any other things you have noticed since switching to TWO?
I am keeping my fingers crossed that your pups get nice firm poops for tomorrow!
It is sooo funny that you posted this because this morning when I was still trying to get woke up, pru-bear came up to me to rub her body against the side of the bed and to give me kisses and I was hugging her and noticed that she is FAR softer than she was. When we got her she was very soft (greys either have a softer thinner hair -like Pru, or thick, coarse hair- like JJ). She is like a soft blanket you just want to curl up to, and being white with fawn she doesn't show shine like the darker colors, but I noticed on this mornings walk that she totally shines in the light. [

]AMAZING difference in only a couple of weeks with a dog that already had a wonderful coat!
JJ is the shinest he has ever been and he had an incredible coat to start with, infact I have never seen another black greyhound with such a beautiful coat, and now it is just getting better and better and he is actually very silky and getting softer.
I agree that maybe there isn't much of a need to add the oil. I think if I decide to get some I won't do so for several months to give them a full chance to improve on kibble alone and once I get them rotating on several varieties( and poop figured out because adding the oil might cause softer pooh).
OK. .. .so good news, and bad news today on the poop front. . .
The good news is that this morning the poops were back to almost normal. 3/4 of them very firm and then the last bit a little softer. Hardly any odor and they were back to the dark color again.[

]
Now, the bad news. . .their poops are back to normal because I didn't feed them any elk last night! The elk is the problem. . . absolutley 100% sure of it. [&o]
They seemed to "tolerate" less than 20% on ELK during the first few days, but it did effect their poop even on that little amount. Anything more than that and we have pudding pooh or full blown diarrhea!
JJ was on the NB venison and rice for a few meals when I was putting him on a allergy formula food. He has a horrible reaction on his belly and his feet were horrible because he is allergic to rice(we didn't know it at the time we put him on it). He also had insane gas (absolutely rank!) and bad diarrhea. I figured the digestive problems were because of the allergic reactions to rice, but now it makes me wonder if the digestive past wasn't because of the venison???? They both have had very bad gas too over the last few days, and didn't have that on the bison. We didn't have Prudence at the time so I don't know how she would have reacted to the NB. They BOTH are doing very bad on the Elk, and maybe they just need a much longer transition time, but for now I haveto stop it.
SO the really, really bad news is that I am out of bison after 1 more meal! [

]
I have to go back to that place and see if there is any bison left in the 4 pound bags, otherwise I will be forced to try the ocean blue. If the order doesn't get here by Monday, then I am going to have to ask our cat and house sitter to drive it up to the rescue and drop off the bag to them when it gets here. I just don't know that I will be able to get through even the next few days.
Aghhh! I am so frustrated![sm=banghead002.gif]
Anyway, sorry for the long post. Hoping to hear you got your order today twin- also are you more rural than city?? Maybe that makes a difference??
