My TWO Finally Arrived!!

Hey. . .it did work!! I don't know what the difference was sooner. . . .I tried the same thing yesterday, but it didn't work. . . I am on  a different computer but that shouldn't  make a difference

So excited! Poop this morning was excellent...no weird colors...dark, small, firm, compact, etc. Very very pleased with the results so far. Today we are on 1/2 Canidae and 1/2 TWO. Also, he really seems to like the water mixed in with it...wonderful suggestion jjsmom06! Thank you! []
 
Those of you that feed TWO...how much do you feed per weight?

Yay!  I am glad that he is doing well on TWO!  Duke & Daisy had their first meal of TWO last night all by itself... today poop was great.    My dogs are really small... Duke is 15 lbs and Daisy is 5 lbs.  I feed them both 3/4 cup per day (split into 3 feedings)... I am just going by the feeding chart on the bag.  So far they have been eating it all.

We just had our first full TWO ONLY meal last night but this morning oop was not good. . .  .however I know it must be from the CET chews I fed them last night. . . .must have been too much [:@]
 
I had been feeding my pups about 3 cups of DRY kibble a day and then they get maybe 1/4 - 1/2 cup a day of the crockpotted meat (depends on who is feeding them. .  .If DH fed them all the time they would be FAT greyhounds so I try to give him cat box duty and I feed them instead!) 
 
The bag of TWO suggests between 2 1/2 - 4 cups a day and my pups are 76 & 82 pounds so I have been sticking with the 3 cups of dry kibble to start and then will adjust accordingly. JJ needs to lose 2-3 pounds to be in his optimum range and I like to keep his weight down a bit because of his arthritis. 3 weeks ago we found out he has extremely low thyroid so he just started meds. When I first got him I was able to get him down to 79 pounds and this is his ideal weight, but I guess due to his thyroid he has packed on the pounds the past few months  
 
So...we are starting with 3 cups of TWO a day and I add in about 1/2 cup of meat
 
 

Thanks so much for letting me know how much you guys feed...helps me put it into perspective better. I was feeding my boy 2 cups a day on the Canidae, and it was always a big overflowing scoop and also some canned added. Still seemed like it wasn't enough. TWO's feeding guidlines are higher than Canidae's so I think I will probably up the amount for him to like 2 1/2-2 3/4? We'll see I guess....

Well I gave him 1/2 Canidae and 1/2 TWO this morning. He just pooped on our walk...happy to say there was not a lot at all, but there was one firm piece and then a couple cow pies!!!!! [] ARGGG. Always when you start to think things are going well! [&o]
 
Do you guys think I should go back to feeding 3/4 Canidae and 1/4 TWO for another day or so? I only gave him this ratio for one day...so that might be the problem. I normally like to take things slower. Although, he did eat a piece of horse hoof today when my farrier came out! [:'(] Don't know if that could have cause the problem either?......The never ending battle continues....

I've got a TWO POOP REPORT also.
 
'Taint good.  Let me start by saying I violate all kibble switching rules by switching foods with no transition period.  I've been rotating (and combining) Solid Gold Barking A.T.M, and Pinnacle Duck & Potato and Pinnacle Trout & Sweet Potato.
 
I can tell by color, firmness and time lapse what output corresponds with what input.  I can always remember what I fed a yesterday.  The day before my TWO Dakota Bison trial I fed Barking A.T.M for both meals because it has the most identifiable output (dark and solid).  The next day I fed 1 cup of TWO for both morning meal and evening meal which totalled the full contents of 1 sample pack.
 
I'm actually nor sure she had a poop the morning after since my wife let her out in the back yard when it was still a little dark and raining and she didn't watch.  She poops less on Barking A.T.M. so she may not have.  That evening (yesterday, Thu) she had one small poop that was all Barking but her 2nd poop was a combo poop which was obvious because the 1st part was dark and solid but the 2nd part was lighter and barely formed.
 
Same deal this morning (Fri), wife let her out when it was drizzly and dark so no poop report.  For the evening walk all she produced was light, soft (minimally formed) and smelly.  Again, I violated all the "rules" of kibble switching but I can switch her from meal to meal among several different kibbles and not get that result.
 
I mix either Pinnacle 50:50 with Barking and get good results and she eats it with or without a little canned added.  Ditto Evo regular dry 50:50 with Pinnacle Duck and Potato.  Considerably firmer poop than with the Pinnacle alone.  I'd like to try the TWO Wild and Natural but I'll probably wait until after my big bag of Barking is gone.

She's been GREAT on T.O.
AND she's had 2 bullysticks this week, one right after the other.
Good poops and a healthy color!

Try plain yogurt, you two.
Crap, I've been adding Evo 95% beef and haven't had any poop problems.

We're all poop skeptics on here.

My boy's poop was not smelly at all, no odor what-so-ever, which is good. I just am not liking the cow pies (small, but still cow pies!). We'll see how it goes tomorrow morning I guess. I might lower the TWO amount tonight. Although, I am still not sure what to do. His poop this morning was excellent. But then again, dogs can get into just about anything and throw these poop reports off the charts! []

That might be a good idea. . . Your pup has done very well it seems on the BATM formula.   Maybe as you are getting close to the end of the bag, try transitioning and see if it renders better results than you saw???

OK, so this mornings wasn't great but as I mentioned earlier I think it was too much CET chews. . . .tonights was very good. Still a little lose at the end, but totally pick-upable!

I am not getting  the HUGE volume of pooh I saw in the first couple of days, but it is not all small and totally compact either.. I am not sure why!
We just had our 3rd meal entirely on TWO  and the gas has greatly reduced as well (although there is a few very pungent ones. . .but that is pretty normal for greyhounds). I am not overfeeding according to the chart. . .infact I might be underfeeding so I don' think that is the cause.

I really noticed tonight how much they LOVE this food. They race to the bowls like never before and  both try to finish first so they can check out the others' bowl. Usually they at least pause once to look up and see what else I am doing in the kitchen, but on this food they could care less and don't look up until it is all gone.

Twin- Maybe try one more meal on the current ratio and then if you still have the cow pies, then back off a little on the TWO amount for another day??   
Let us know tomorrow if it was better, could just be the horse hoof!

I know, it's so much fun! Especially since we are all pretty close to being at the same points in the transitioning stage...or a little farther along. Either way, it is recent experience so we can all share "notes!" I really hope the morning poop is better..."cow pies" what a funny expression...although when I was at the fair this year and looking at the cows...I had to avoid a lot of poop and I was like "Wow, they really are cow pies!" He he he...[]
 
I really hope my pup's poop gets better...it totally could have been the horse hoof...ewwww....they love 'em of course! Everything started off really nicely, which makes me think something else caused the cow pies...because wouldn't the poop have been at least a little mushy from the start of mixing if it were causing a problem?? [8|] Who knows?
 
ETA: No gas or smelly poop so far...so that's at least a positive!! []

Everything was absolutely wonderful this morning. Even a tad bit darker, firm, compact, small. YES!! I did back off on the amount I fed last night to 3/4 Canidae 1/4 TWO. Looks like we are back on track. It could have easily been the horse hoof or something else, who ever knows? [&:]

ARGHHHHHHH!
I have to complain now. . . So we leave in about 9 days for a vacation and have someone house and cat sitting, but have to board the dogs because they have so many issues. I am trying to pick up all their food and stuff in preparation for boarding them.  I went today to the one and only store in all of my city who carries TWO and they don't have anymore Dakota Bison and won't be ordering it for several more weeks!!!!
 So I had to buy the Elk formula and they didn't have it in anything bigger than the 16 pound bag, which combined with the Bison I have left won't come close to getting me through the next 10 days plus the time they are boarding!!   I had to order online just now to try and get more TWO because I bought the very last bag of TWO Elk they had at the pet food store (I think there might have been 1 4 # bag)

Keep your fingers crossed. I get it in time!

Good thing you are addressing this issue now and are able to get things figured out before you leave, hopefully!!! They seem to have been shipping the packages out a lot faster than last time, at least for me. So, glad you got your order in!

Let me know how your dogs like the Elk v. Bison. It seems to have the same ingredients besides the 1st one. Also, do they smell the same? Just wondering if they are pretty much the same in taste and smell. Not like you would know the taste part! []

oh gosh, I'd die if my dog food lady ran out of T.O.
I guess I would just buy Nature's Variety because it is a good food, but I don't like the ash content.
