I know, there are so many things to keep straight...very CONFUSING! Maybe that's what keeps it so interesting...[;)]

    POOP REPORT!!

OK, so my pup just went outside now, and he pooped again (probably the rest of it since earlier this morning was just a little loaf). [:)] It was the weirdest color! You were right jjsmom06! It was like light green/yellow? I can't even describe it, how weird!! Did anyone else have this color poop when they were first switching to TWO? Also, how long did it last? Did it ever get a dark, normal color? It was very small, compact, firm, no odor...that was all a plus...but it was an odd color!!

    Comments Please!! [:-]

It's probably the mix of TWO and Canidae. Once you're feeding straight TWO it should go to a dark green/brown color.
The green, as mudpuppy had stated, is from the herbs in their food.
But it'll be a nice consistency.

oh! Heh, yes. Ella LOVES when I add water to her kibble. I always make sure that the water is tepid though. Not warm and not cold. It's a difficult temperature to achieve, but I try.

I wasn't aware about the citric acid law and I have NO clue if TWO is preserved in citric acid of not.

Now I am getting so excited thinking about rotating!! [:)]

If your dogs didn't have food allergies, or the ones that don't...would you rotate between all the formula's? I might stay away from the Black Forest, with the lowest protein at 22%...and Wild & Natural, with the highest protein at 36%...only right now though while his is a pup. Other than that I would LOVE to try them all. I just have heard such bad luck with dogs on the Chicken/Herbs...would it be worth a try...or just leave that one out of the rotation?

Also, I was thinking I would rotate after every two 16.5lb bags...that way he gets in a couple months with the same food...and then switch. Has anyone had bad luck with any of their other formula's?

    THANKS!! [sm=proud.gif]
    • Gold Top Dog
Wait. Why exactly is it that high protein is bad for puppies?
    • Gold Top Dog
Something about high protein in kibble, not RAW. It makes the pups grown too fast which leads to skeletal problems. It is more prevalent for large breed puppies, so you are supposed to wait until they are 18+ months before you feed like EVO kibble, Raw Instincts, Wild & Natural, Barking at the Moon, etc......
    • Gold Top Dog
oh! I thought that was the phosphorous/calcium levels linked er...or something to the high protein in kibble.
I thought that it was kind of the same idea as how ash is somehow linked to high protein kibble.
    • Gold Top Dog
Yes, you are right about the high calcium/phosphorus levels, too. Either way, I get so many mixed signals with it that I am just going to wait until he is 18 months or so to feed those high protein kibbles. I don't mind waiting, TWO has such a great variety of kibbles that I probably wouldn't even get to the Wild and Natural until then! [:D]
    • Gold Top Dog
I had no idea about not feeding pups high protein!  Duke & Daisy are eating the Wild and Natural right now.  But they are small breeds so it should be okay... I am going to rotate every 16.5 lb bag.  Just to mix things up and see how they do on the other varieties.  I am going to mix between ALL of them... except probably not the Black Forest.

If your dogs didn't have food allergies, or the ones that don't...would you rotate between all the formula's?

Yes, I plan to but right now because of JJ's rice allergies I am limited on my options and I don't want to put him on the W&N because I don't like feeding older dogs that much protein.
My plan is to stay with the Bison until this 16 # bag and a 33# bag are gone and then I will get a small bag of the Elk to try and rotate every other 33# bag or so. I would also like to rotate in the Ocean Blue but since the formula is a bit different, I want to make sure they are doing  really well on the bison & elk first.
Since Carol mentioned the new canned TWO coming out I am very interested in that as well and might want to try add in a tablespoon or so of that into some meals (depends on the price though. . .it might be rather high [:o])
    • Gold Top Dog
Yes, I am interested in the canned TWO also. I hope that has free shipping as well...who knows?
    • Gold Top Dog
I hope that has free shipping as well...who knows?

Probably so becasue it will probably only be sold by the case and will be over their $15 minimum purchase amount. . .in fact i don' think I have seen ANY item under their minimum free shipping amount??
    • Gold Top Dog
Their 4lb bags are. They are about $10.50-$11.00 depending on the formula. I had to order the cat food to make the purchase over $15. I guess if I have to buy a whole case of the canned food, I might not do that. I don't want to spend that much to realize that it does not work for my pup. Also, I wouldn't want that many of the same formula. I like the EVO canned because I can purchase all the varieties separately. We'll see....[&:]

Anyone know how to add emoticons in that aren't already available on this website??

Go to the emoticon you want, right click and find the location under properties. Copy the location and put it in image tags. Example

    [ image ]http://forums.ourdogsonline.com/images/graemlins/sign_hijack.gif [ / image ]

    without spaces is

I don't think some site owners like people linking directly to them though so the other option would be to right click, save to your computer, then save to something like photobucket. Then whatever program you're using will give you a link and then you put it in the same image tags.

    Does that make any sense

Oh. . . .I think it worked this time!! Let see!
