Does YOUR Eagle Pack kibble smell?

I think the thing is that lamb has a funky kind of smell to it to begin with,,,,that might be one of the problems.  But I have always fed NATURAL formula which has lamb in it...maybe the odor could be the same but for some reason this one is stronger????     That is what I am kind of thinking......

I am having major problems logging in so am trying you direct, which seems to be working. We want you to be totally comfortable with our foods so if you will email me direct  I will send a voucher for a free bag and you can stop feeding the current bag.

What I had been thinking Dyan, was if they opened up a new bag and it smelled OK, you could trade your smelly one in for it. If it smelled bad, they wouldn't want to sell it anyway and could return it to the co.

    That's fantastic, John.

Eagle has always been one of the most CS oriented brands I've seen. I hope that I can feed it, again, in the future.

Are rotten eggs rancid smelling? I agree with the comparison smell idea!

    Nah, they smell like sulphur.

Did I mention that I'm *really* scent oriented???

I did go to the store today to talk to them,,,and see if they  had any complaints or concerns about the Holistic Lamb and Rice,,,but the fellow said not that he knew of.  Then added if she didn't get sick it must be alright. Maybe....but I don't know.   I will take John up on his offer,,, I am concerned..
I like the company and our Danes do well on the food.

I assume that if the food spoils,,perhaps when outdated,,,that it gets a smell to it that smells like paint thinner.......  just a guess.

I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you guys that John from Eagle Pack has sent me a voucher for a new 33# bag kibble for my Bubblegum.
You know I first went to Eagle on the suggestion from Linda Arndt (The Great Dane Lady) as she does suggest it for large breeds, but I have to say that over the past couple of years, certain things came up here or there, with other companies that just made me happy that I was with Eagle...and also when ever I had a question to ask, they answered promptly,,,always!   Now I questioned the smell of this Lamb and Rice formula,,,and John answered me right away, but then went further to tell me to just get another and sent me a voucher for it.  I feel that I want you to all know this, it is just another reason to feel good about feeding my dog Eagle Pack.

I couldn't have said it better! It's so nice working with a company (as a retailer and customer) that puts customer service at the top of their priority list! It also doesn't hurt that they make a GREAT line of pet foods!

certain things came up here or there, with other companies that just made me happy that I was with Eagle

I started Jessie on Eagle because it was one of the foods recommended by The Whole Dog Journal, had several formulas without chicken, and John patiently answered many questions I had through e-mail and over the phone. On the Eagle Pack Jessie's shiny coat became shinier and thicker and she had more energy. I'm trying a different food for Jessie; a prescription food made by Royal Canin called Skin Support SS 21. Even on Eagle Pack she has dandruff, and she started having skin problems related to her allergies a few weeks ago even though she's on immunotherapy. The SS 21 has been proven in clinical trials to help the skin of atopic dogs to be more resistant to yeast and bacterial infections. It has natural preservatives and the first ingredient is menhaden fish meal. I hope it will help her flare ups; otherwise she will need to go back to a once a week schedule on her allergy shots instead of once every 2 weeks. Even though I'm confident in the science behind this food it's hard to switch from Eagle and if Jessie doesn't respond well to this food she'll be going right back to it.

That really does me feel even better about switching Gingerbread over to Eagle Pack Holistic (Duck dry + canned). [:)

I switched because he was eating California Natural and I think it's a great food, but I really like the added holistic supplements in Eagle Pack, AND the fact that they're all there in balanced amounts... much better than getting all of those supplements separately myself (cost wise, convenience and giving the correct amounts).

Plus, Gingerbread is eating this food with real enthusiasm- unusual for him... we're both pretty happy campers now!
