I missed this yesterday too. Chelsea - I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know how much you loved Cherokee. Not many people would understand that I'm crying over a dog I never actually met but I felt like I knew her thru your posts and I could tell that she was very special.

My candle is already burning tonight.

I emailed Chelsea last night, & she told me that I could share this from her.

Today was really rough, but I think somehow less hard than I thought it would be. She went very peacefully. I didn't start crying til she was unconscious or really close to it, and I didn't start sobbing and hyperventilating til she was gone, so I think I did pretty good.

My candle is lit for Cherokee.  Chelsea, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Same here.  A double-wick candle to symbolize the immense love between a girl and her dog.

 Chelsea - you did amazing with this tough event.  We all know how hard it is and it sounds like you handled everything with a ton of grace and thought for your dog's best interests til the end.

They have been long time members here.  I've had so many conversations back and forth with Chelsea over the years because Cherokee and Willow have so many things in common.  It's hard to explain but when they are "tough" like this, you think this day will never come.   

I'm sure Cherokee has found the bridge by now and is doing all the things that made her Cherokee.  Oh, boy, look out bridge! 

I'm lighting my candle for you Chelsea as I can't begin to imagine what this pain must be like for you.  I hope when Willow's time comes I can handle it half as well as you did.  

I'm so very sorry.  I will miss her stories very much.
