Do you put dress up your dog?

He is just adorable!  No offense intended but he kind of looks like an old lady with the scarf on his head[:D]

I have never dressed my sheltie Hunter up in anything, but now that she had to be shaved for medical reasons I am considering a jacket for winter, because I don't want her to be cold.  She has always had the heavy coat and now that she doesn't I am not sure if she will adjust or if she will need something.  What do you all think?  She goes out for her potty breaks and when we are going somewhere or in the yard.

Riley happens to have some sweaters on cold days (he hates the snow), different collars for different occasions, and many bandanas.  I would like to get him some t-shirts eventually, for no reason.  He will not tolerate a hat or anything else on his head.  If he were to wear shoes, he won't move.

berserker wears bandana's on occasion, he doesnt notice those. he had a hoodie once that was actually my daughters but he outgrew that fast. i need to get him a fleece coat for winter here pretty soon since he is really attatched to his nightwalk and gets cold really easy. i could never dress him up in costumes or anything he get ahold of though, he would hate it and rip it off.

lol, i like your picture under your name. [;)]
it is actually practical in some situations, like my dog for example, he is a lean dog and does not have a double coat, so in the winter he gets cold really fast, faster than he can go to the bathroom, so it would be more rediculous for me to make him freeze than it would be to put a proper doggy coat on him.

You did a great job with the nails!  Wow! That was really detailed and nice. I tried to paint my dogs nails last night and although she was very good, I made it into a disaster - polish all over her fur.  What brand of polish do you use for them?

Thanks! I use regular human nail polish. There are dog specific polishes out there but there isn't quite the variety like you'd find with human polishes.

I have jackets for my dogs because they are both short haired and dont have double coats and it gets very cold here in the winter..I have a sweater and a jacket for my pup and just a jacket for Thor because he doesn't like the clothes but my pup doesn't seem to mind.I think he knows it keeps him warm.

Ro, a mini doberman, needed sweaters in the New Hampshire winters or he'd have frozen! Sometimes I'd put more silly things on him, he was such a character and we both had a blast with it. [:D]

With Buck we don't need to dress him up. He might need a sweater when it gets colder.. mostly just bandanas though.

Nah, I don't dress up my dog. It just don't think they should be dressed up. But that's just my 2 cents. I can see though were dogs especially living were I where it gets below zero where thinner haired dogs wear sweaters, because it gets cold.

I put an old sweater on Jade sometimes if it's really cold out, and we had a leather jacket for Rocky when he was less fat, but that's it :)

Dressing up your dog isn't dumb, it's practical in many situations.  Both the paps get cold really easily and need sweaters when we go outside in the snow.  (I need to get Beau a new one, he's too filled out now for his old ones).  I've never dressed up the shelties, except Nikki once and she wore a shirt for this dog benefit thing long ago.  The shelties have double coats and thick coats so they don't mind the cold as much.  Beau has several sweaters, but I'm not sure if he fits in them any more.

I honestly can't understand any of the problems people have with dressing up dogs, but that's just me.  Beau loves his sweaters because it means he gets to go outside and play.  Each to their own, and it's not harmful.  Just my 2 cents.

*raises hand* GUILTY AS CHARGE! haha. When my parents were at work one day, I took one of my dads work out t-shirts and stretched it over my 90 pound, chunk of a lab. He just sat there while I laughed and took pictures. haha. Silly me loaded the pictures on my dads computer so he kind of found out. haha.
