Emma is gone

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Oh wow.  Bless you for doing the right thing, however hard it was.  Epilepsy is a horrible thing...my old college roommate just lost his lab/shepherd/kelpie mix to it.  Emma was way too young, but, I'm glad you had the courage to help her to be pain free.

    • Gold Top Dog

Yes, she was much too young. I'm proud of you for doing the right thing for her. YOU put YOUR feelings aside for HERS. That is the definition of love. We're here for you anytime.

     Godspeed, Emma.

Good thoughts for you, Bean, and Jewel, Jennie. I know we've talked on facebook, but I'm posting here so you'll have it in this thread too - I know I go back and read Indy's every once in a while.

You did what was right for your girl. She had a good life with you, and was madly happy as long as she could be.

She was very young. Only 6. But she did have many issues, and the pain medication she took, and seizure medication that gave her quality of life probably DID destroy her liver, in the end. I didn't do bloodwork, though. She just had it done 4 months ago, and it looked fine. I know these things can be sudden.

Jennie, so sorry to hear about Emma. My Kobi was also on a lot of those meds and I believe in the end that was what took him down as well.  Emma is at peace now and I wish the same for you. Take care. ((((HUGS))))
