I haven't posted about it. In short, her pain and epilepsy were getting worse. She had lost most impulse control, and was spiraling. She'd been acting "old" for several months, but she'd had a lot of bright days. It was just time.
And you've done it all -- Emma didn't have just one problem -- she had MANY and you managed them all side by side relentlessly. People mostly don't realize that most seizure drugs are hard on the liver -- Emma already HAD a liver shunt. Right there that sets it up to be massively difficult.
Your first post "with dignity" says so much to me. This was a dog you knew as a young active dog (running into trees and generally raising heck) -- and to have that taken away, with a problem spiraling out of control that only leads downward -- this is another avenue of that same ratty decision.
In this, Jennie, you put Emma AGAIN ahead of you. She was your heart dog -- but rather than let her be in pain, and experience endless and damaging seizures (which themselves can cause agony) you put her first. You didn't let the "real" Emma down. When you say "impulse control" *I* know what you mean --
It means my friend, you've been in agony for a while -- please, Jennie -- let me help if I can. Prayers and good thots? You bet. but that's what real love is, Jennie -- *hugs*
Today I can't even touch your pain ... but let me know if I can help or be there ok?
Oh wise one that she was, I'm not at all surprised Foxy was agitated ... cos she went over the Bridge probably a bit sedate for Emma -- and I'd bet she recognized Teenie and Foxy and sat down and said "Jennie loved me SO much you guys ... you don't even know how much she LOVED me ..." and Foxy and Teenie (who is now all whole herself) sat there and said "Yeah, Emma -- we DO know ... and it's why we're both here."
