Like a few others have said, Emma is one of the dogs I remember from my earliest times on the forum, 3-4 years ago. Now that I'm not on as much anymore, I thought when I saw the thread's title that there was a good chance it referred to an Emma I hadn't "met" yet. I was so sad to see that it was your Emma. I recall reading some posts about some of her medical issues, but I had no idea her health was failing to this degree.
Making that final decision is agonizing -- trying to put aside your own heartbreak while deciphering any signals your beloved dog may be giving you that it's time. Having experienced that with our dog, I completely understand. I'm sending lots of good thoughts and heart-healing vibes to you and your other dogs as you adjust to life without her physical presence beside you. But her little spirit is strong, and I suspect you'll continue to feel her influence in your life.
Run free, sweet Emma - enjoy a life with no pain or struggles at the Bridge!
