Ugh! What is wrong with people?

Story 

One of the dogs had serious bite wounds and another had trauma to its abdomen, but exact causes of death were not determined, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said. A third dog carcass had been burned so badly an exam was inconclusive.

 I'm getting to where I just can't read about these stories past the first sentence anymore.  It just sickens me the depths to which human beings will sink in their treatment of animals.   And we're supposed to be the intelligent species.  Dogs don't mutilate & kill one another.  Gotta wonder who's the intelligent species here.

I just don't understand how people can do this. I mean I honestly do not get it. How in the world do they not have any feelings towards a situation like this? Putting a dog or any type of animal in that kind of situation "for the fun of it". How sick. People like that disgust me.

I don't consider these people, I consider them animals if not sub-human!  I still say give that person the same sentence as he or she inflicted on the victum. I don't mean to sound callous, but I'm sick of hearing about all this vicious aggression.  No one is responsible for their own actions anymore and I'm sick of these people that feel sorry for the attacker--they knew what they were doing and deserve the same treatment in return--let them know what it feels like to be torn apart.  

This is sickening. Why hasn't it been on the news like Michael Vick was? The sad thing is some young teenagers think this is cool and the fact that all these celebrities are being found guilty of dogfighting just fuels it. I don't understand how dogfighting is glorified,but it is.

 I'm not surprised to be honest - DMX is famous for portraying dog fighting in at least one of his music videos and I think there was some sort of case he was involved in related to fighting a few years ago.

I think people like this are a basest, but most accurate, protrayal of what a human is, or at the very least, the bad side of a human. Self-serving and merciless.I don't think we can truly say that they are animalistic. Animal don't kill and torture each other for fun. Humans do. 

But then again, I am a misanthrope. I don't believe people are basically good. We have the *potential* to be good, but we are by no means innately benevolent.

 I'm a religious person. And yes, I belive in Satan's influence on earth. And I believe honestly that some people, who are willing to let him into their psyche and soul, and choose to do these things....well, wow. I don't know what else to say

Animal don't kill and torture each other for fun. Humans do. 

I was thinking the same thing. When animals kill each other in the wild it's part of survival (food chain, territory, etc.) There are also times when preditors are close to their prey and not hunting. (Think African watering holes.)

Only humans are intentionally cruel. It's sad to have that in our genetic make-up. We're the only one of God's creatures that does. 

 What's wrong with people?  Why hurt an innocent animal?  It's sick.  I cannot stand to hear about people hurting animals.  It angers me to no end.  I say let the "owners" endure the same pain that they put their animals through.  It's only fair.
