I can literally feel my heart breaking

It is going to be a long hard road to fight Breed Specific Legislation and the general ;public's view of American Pit Bull Terriers, and other so-called "dangerous" breeds, but each and every attempt to salvage this wonderful breed's reputation brings both a smile to my face and a tear to my eye.

Please watch, and enjoy, this video, and share it with your friends and family.

I just watched the video and it's sad! But, I have to be honest some of those dogs I found intimdating (sp) although I have found some other breeds intimdating as well.

I am so against the "ban" it is stupid where does it stop after pit bulls?? Which dog is next?? I have a GSD/Siberian Husky mix, should I be worried that she will be next? Don't the legislators see how crazy this can get?

It really can, and already has gotten very crazy. IMHO, it is crazy that dogs are being put down based on their breed.  It is a very real possibility, and BSL could very well, and probably will, grow and grow, unless, of course, people smarten up and rethink their morals.

**Pit bulls are great dogs, albeit intimidating to some people.

I didn't know they were going to use the pictures for a video, how perfect is that. Buck's in there twice. God I miss that boy. Luckily he hasn't fallen victim to this crap.

    Who is buck?
    • Gold Top Dog
It's a long story, but we had Buck for about 6 months. He is a pretty little (was little) guy. His previous owners purposely attacked him to make him bite. And he did. When we got him he was about 10 - 12 weeks old and bit me several times. He is no longer like that, and loves everyone. After a little while, he started wanting more attention than we could give, so he was rehomed with some very good friends of ours. I see him every month or so.

If his previous owners kept him, and we didn't take him, he would probably be dead. Or would have seriously harmed someone. Luckily we took him when we did. I'll find his pictures, then you can find him in the video.

I guess I only have pictures of when he was a little guy, here at work. He's the brown one.

Are both those dogs pitt bulls??? They don't intimdate me at all, to me I find the big stocky ones with their ears cropped are what intimdate me.

I think the whole BSL is load of BS!

should I be worried that she will be next?

Yes.  Some insurers already decline coverage to GSD's and Husky's, as well as a host of other breeds, because they consider them risky to own. [:'(]

**Sorry to gunk up this thread with pictures of my dog, but I have to represent, and let Tyson be the ambassador that he is for the breed, be it through the internet or what have you.**

Here are some pics of my dog....  I doubt he will intimidate you....

Here he is begging me to play (thats all he ever wants to do, that and lick you!)

Many people in power are wimps. It's easier for them to pick on a dog and their law-abiding owners than it is to get tough on dog fighters. Which is more intimidating? A 12 year old girl walking a well-behaved Pittie? Or, a drug thug with a snarling dog on a 2-ton chain? Well, they're too scared to do their job and go after the criminal. All we can do is inundate officials with positive info and protest any BSL. And, as tempting as it is, we can't make the legislators feel as stupid as the actually are for even considering this bill. We have to appeal to their vanity and sense of self-importance. Politics stinks but it is the only game in town.

Alieliza, your dog is beautiful.  She looks like a litltle sweetie peetie.  My mother's neighbor has a pittie and she is the sweetest little darling dog.  She is very well behaved,  I don't thin I have ever even heard her bark.  This is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard of.  Ron I totally agree with you this is just avoidance if the real issue.
    • Gold Top Dog
You are absolutely right, Ron.  Unfortunately, we have to deal with beaurocracy, its the only way, sickening as it is.  We cannot make them feel like idiots, even though thats what most of them are....

I proposed that we have a politician live with a pit for a week, and see how "viscious" they really are.... although, change his mind as we might, I doubt he would ever admit to being wrong!

Tyson *NEVER* barks.... Its so rare that he does.  Only when hes playing, really.  And the ratio of play:bark is so so low.

**Edit: and he is a sweetie peetie!
