Yikes, I have no clue why I thought I'd seen something that said "50". On another forum I visit there's a woman who is turning 50 this weekend but that was huge leap to think it was your husband. Ugh - I'm not sure you'd want to compare your mind to mine Embarrassed

I think it was Truley's DH that is turning 50 soon. Maybe you were thinking of that?

Either baby loves or hates the chili I ate for lunch today. Kick kick kick!

Only FOUR more days until the ultrasound! What will it be... a hotdog or a cheeseburger?!

    • Gold Top Dog

     HOTDOG!!!  LMAO!!!

You know that feeling you get when your hair dries in a ponytail, then you take it out?  When your scalp gets sore and it feels like your hair weights 300 lbs?  Well, I have that sort of feeling, but on my forehead.  On the side, over my left eyebrow.  Like its bruised.  What the heck?

Thanks Jan - that's probably was what I got confused with. I also might've figured that a guy who's getting a Wii and tickets to see the Spurs must be turning 50 but apparently Jackie is just a really awesome wife.

I can't for you/us to find out what you're having. What does Willa want?

I can't believe how long I spent cleaning. I'm pooped out. DH did get called in to work, so he'll be leaving soon and then I'll probaby take a nap.

Happy Thanksgiving, Canadians!! It's absolutely gorgeous here.  Sunny, a bit cool.  I'm really looking forward to this storm so I hope it's not one of the usual *three drops of rain and it's over* things. Every year in October Davis has this event called "Davis Neighbors Night Out" and whole neighborhoods get together for a pot-luck. Tomorrow is the day and ours will be at the park at the end of the street.  So ... I'm off to Costco for one of those mixed fruit bowls then to Safeway for a Stouffers Mac & Cheese. Big Smile I'll bring one or the other, depending on what it seems like the weather is going to be like between 5 & 7 p.m. For anyone here who doesn't want to go, there will be a Round Table Pizza on the kitchen counter.

At least it's not your foot?  Hope you stop falling apart soon!

Hey, how is Maghee been doing?

It's 2pm... I should probably take a shower finally, huh?

Showers are over rated on the weekend. ~L~

I'm getting very tired of things hurting.  I know it's only been 2 weeks.  Ah, I'm just whining.

Thanks for asking about Maghs.   She's had a long string of good days.  Today is not one of them but we'll get through this.  How's Sammy?

    • Gold Top Dog

Showers are way overrated, but probably necessary, LOL.

Glad to hear that Maghee is overall, doing OK.  Sorry today wasn't such a good one, but we'll keep the good thoughts going for her.  Hoping she has many more good days, than not so good.

    How's Sammy?

Much, much better!  He hasn't puked in... nearly 3 weeks now?  Go Sammy!  His pancreas values were lower, but still 205 when we tested last weekend (darn, so close to "normal"!).  The new vet feels that as long as he's completely asymptomatic (ie, no vomiting or pain, lethargy, etc), to just keep doing what we're doing with only periodic checks if we feel we want to.  I've been starting a transition to NB reduced cal (6% fat)... I may or may not venture into homecooked, depending on if we straighten out his allergies, but his paws (only the back) have been 'stable' for a few weeks -- not getting much better, but definitely not getting worse.  I'm hoping with the colder weather they clear up.... we'll see.

DH was napping earlier, and I woke him up since I was bored and decided to seal the driveway.  Bet he was glad he got up! (Not!)  Ahhh, at least better than me screwing everything up, right? Angel   The house is about 6-7 years old but we're the 3rd owners so no one has really done proper maintence on things like driveways so it needed it.  Not sure the stuff we used is going to be the answer, but the concrete contractor up the street recommended it so we'll see.  Maybe in the spring it will need more?  grumble grumble.

Didn't Barbara and her DH just celebrate the big 5-0?  When they went on their cruise?  So maybe that's who you were thinking of, Cathy?

Maybe that's it. I know someone, somewhere was turning 50 :)

I think it was Barb's Dh who had a b-day recently.

Annie, sorry your arm/shoulder is so sore.  Crutches suck big time.  I hope you heal soon.  Give Mags some rubbin's from me and tell her to feel better soon.

Nicole, that's great that Sammy seems to be doing better.  I sure hope he continues to feel better.

We've been playing with the Wii some this afternoon.  Mostly golf but a little tennis too. Tennis is hard. lol  We went to eat and now are both too full to play anymore. lol  DH seems to like it but he didn't seem as happy as I was hoping he would be.

Karen, been thinking of you and Bugsy.  Sending good thoughts for your aunt and MIL.

So after my great hamburger accomplishments on Thursday night, I got around to mixing up the samples of SoJos food for the dogs today.  That stuff smelled good enough for *me* to eat and the dogs LOVED it.  I may see if I can work it into our budget, at least 1 meal a day perhaps.  There's something about feeding something that looks like real food instead of just kibble that I like - how odd is that?

Work was long today - taught training classes at 11:15, 12:30, 3, and 4:15 today and I usually only teach twice on Saturdays plus my usual 10:15 playgroup.  On top of that I only had about 40 minutes to run home and grab something to eat because one of the classes ran way over.

We have a reporter working on a story about the training classes I teach for our humane society - they took pictures last week and she was told to expand the story this week, so she dropped by playgroup today to talk to students.  I overheard some AWESOME comments from them!  can't wait until it comes out in November!!!!

Erin, after I started raw feeding most of our dogs, I actually felt guilty about feeding Chyna, and now Brutus, kibble.  Now, I realize that raw doesn't work for Chyna at all, & that Brutus can only handle it once a day.

Karen, I hope that you & Bugs are hanging in there.

Annie, I hope that the shoulder feels better tomorrow.  Crutches are evil!

We had a fun day today.  Bev & Shooter were the "Meet the Breed" dogs at a Pet Fest.  Then I was volunteered to do a presentation about dog safety over in the kid's zone.  Bev thought that he had died & gone to heaven with all of the kids around.  It went pretty well.  Some of the kids were a little pushy & overbearing, and most of the parents said nothing to them.  It was frustrating, & eventually, I just started correcting the kids.  All in all, it was fun.  I bought way too much stuff, but I rationalize it by telling myself that since I only bought from rescue group booths, I was actually only supporting rescue.

This evening, we had dinner with a co-worker, her husband, & their son.  I really like my co-worker but she really annoyed me tonight.  She has not met my DH or kids before tonight.  I assume that she was expecting the kids to be younger, because she was obviously shocked when she met the boys.  After dinner, the kids left the table to go look at pics on the walls.  We were talking, & my co-worker says "You must have really gotten around when you were a teenager, because you started early."  I was absolutely pissed, but instead of blowing up & making a scene in front of my kids, I curtly ended the evening.  I am still shocked that she would say something like that.

I am watching my Longhorns play right now.  They are winning, although the offense isn't playing very well....

Geez.  Seems like she could have found a  better way to phrase that ... something like " You look young to have kids that age"  or better yet, just left it alone. Maybe she's one of those people with a permanent case of "foot in mouth.*

Happy Anniversary to Jackie and DH!  Quite an achievement.  LOL my 6 yo niece is amazing at Wii tennis - very humbling. I love to bowl on there and find it hilarious.

Thanks for the kind words for Mr B and I.  I just did a training session with him outside which was difficult because he is so pent up that his concentration was poor - OK not really his concentration - his willingness to do what was asked and his impulse control stunk.  I then said OK that's enough let's go in and he turned into a mule and wouldn't come in.  Then once in he started whining and howling.  Apparently he thought a run/walk was going to happen.  So he is now VERY reluctantly in his crate - harumph!  I will say watching him move that this knee is certainly not 'killing' him.

My sinus issue is full blown and I want to crawl back in bed and sleep in a fetal position for many hours.

Amanda that woman is clearly not terribly bright.  She couldn't imagine any other circumstances that would bring the boys into your life??  That is dim.  Sort of like when at a dinner party a while back one of my neighbors said the only reason you get married is to have kids.  DH & I have none and she knows that, hmmmmmmmmmmmm, really? Pity people with such small views.

thats it I'm off to bed

Gosh, weekend is half over and what am I doing???  Sitting here waiting for the Dead Sox be eliminated from the playoffs.  The way they've been playing they NEED to just end the season.  Why prolong the misery?

Got GALLONS of spegetti sauce made yesterday and 4 pans of lasagna.  DH has to have lasagna for his b'day dinner and no sense of making the mess for just ONE pan so I always put a bunch in the freezer.  Now I'm gonna have to bake him some bread to go with the lasagna.......

Ummmmm, wow.  Where the heck is everyone?

Corky spent the first two innings of the game very happily curled in my lap starting at the TV.

    That is all....
