    Mindless Chatter-The weekend edition

The best way to start a saturday morning is to get up early and go to the vets for capstar because you discover flea's on all bodies of fur. Rainy, wet, damp, cold weather brought out the bugs.

I spent 1.5 seconds giving Kord his pill and got a kiss for my trouble.

On the other hand, the cats, who must have smelled "cat pills" the second my tires hit the driveway suddenly turned into mountain lions that could get to the highest and deepest part of all the furniture. And the roaring, lord have mercy you would think I was trying to kill them. Took me an hour to capture and pill two 10 lb cats.

I am getting evil looks, I think I had better sleep with one eye open tonight.

    Happy Thanksgiving day Lauren!

LOL  Try it with a 19 lb kitty!  Luckily Coconut is pretty laid back and easy to catch off guard. He does tend to give me the stink eye for a few hours afterwards.

It's wonderful and cool this morning, downright chilly.  The dogs are frisky and checking their little doggie watches because it's way past time to go for our walk. :)

Tomorrow is DH's birthday and our anniversary.   We are so bad about remembering how long we've been married I keep one of our honeymoon pic's in a handy drawer to check the date on the back. Sad but true. lol  Thirty four years.  We're going out to dinner tonight but don't know where yet.  I can't say it's always been easy but if I had to pick one thing that has gotten us through the tough times, it's that we both really care about each other.

Happy Thanksgiving day to all you Canadians!

Delightfully cool here this morning, but of curse, that's supposed to change to hot and humid.  They keep promising that the first part of the week this system will go away and we'll be back to normal fall weather

I've got to get a pot of spegetti sauce going so I can get DH's lasagna's put together.  Tuesday is his b'day and I always make several and freeze since it's a time consuming job that I'd rather  not do more often than I have to.......

We had a bad storm in the night that set the dogs off and even woke ME up, which is no small task.  I need my coffee through an IV this morning.

Happy turkey day Candace and Lauren, and anyone else I might have missed!

    Ditto on the happy thanksgiving!

I am lucky that I have never had to give my cat a pill or bath. I can just picture the war wounds that would be involved.

I have some purple finches at my feeders today which is rare and pretty cool.

It has been raining forever here and the dogs need some serious run and wrestle time. I may suck it up and take them to the golf course. I need to re-waterproof my boots and jacket but I can't find the right stuff at the local stores, only online. Then I have to pay crazy shipping!

Thanks!  Happy ThanksGiving Lauren, Amber, Caline, Holly, Stacy, and Bruister...(dont remember your name, but I think you're from Canada right...might be mixed up though.)

My family is not doing anything for Thanksgiving this year.  Everythign is still a bit chaotic so we're skipping the stress.  OTOH, my friend Lesley and I have decided its time to start a friend Thanks Giving Dinner tradition.  We're gonna do it on Monday, so I'm excited for that.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday to your DH? Did you get the Wii? If so, let us know what he thought of it.

Cool here this morning too but it's supposed to warm to the mid 80s. The weather folks are really playing up the storm that's due to arrive on Tuesday. I hope it's half as good as they say it'll be. I guess there's no sense washing my car this weekend - darn it ;)

I was just telling my friend yesterday how well I'd been sleeping and then last night I was awake every couple hours. I did sleep in until 7:20 and that's big news for me.

Thanks, Cathy and yes I did get the Wii and can't wait for tomorrow to give it to him so probably later today I'll wrap it and give it to him.  I got an extra controller but I didn't get a numchuk (sp) because I was too intimidated by the name to ask what the heck we need if for. lol  Where do they come up with these terms?

I didn't dress warmly enough for our walk and had to keep a brisk pace to keep from freezing. lol  DH warned me but I didn't listen.  The dogs didn't mind and had a great time.  Off th do some chores and finish the laundry.

LOL Jackie!  Yay for a Wii!  It depends on the games as to whether you need another nunchuk -- it's an accessory that it a joystick, that is required for some games.  If you look on the back of the game, in the upper (right?) corner, it shows a controller, or controller plus nunchuck, or classic controller, or whatever it is you need for the game.  If you need it, it won't work without it.  But some two player games you can swap the nunchucks even if it is a pain.  It gives you two handed playing, essentially, and I have bad hand-eye coordination, so some games are just not my thing, but I do love my Wii!

Lazy day today -- loads of fun!

Happy Turkey day to those who are celebrating!

Jackie - I was cleaning the bathrooms and was thinking about you and your anniversary (I think of the darndest things when I'm cleaning). Was your husband just 16 when you married?

Work just called to ask if DH would work a 1/2 shift today. He's at the gym so I left him a msg on his cell. I doubt he'll want to but he's been asked a few times and said "no thanks", so he may feel that he needs to this time.

??  He's turning 59 tomorrow and we've been married 34 years. LOL  Not sure what I said that gave you that impression he was 16 when we married but it cracked me up when I read it!  LOL

I think about stuff like that too when I clean.  I was just cleaning the bathrooms too.  Great minds, I suppose. lol

     Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians!

FIRST DAY OF VACATION!!!  Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.  I'm so excited.  Not going anywhere, but I have a week off to relax, get projects done, I'm going to Starved Rock with my siblings, I have a dog show next weekend, and I'm going to be a couch slug.  SO excited!

But I am going to be diligent about getting some good training in with the dogs.  Nikki and Honor have TDI evaluations coming up, and Nikki is making me WORK for every ounce of obedience she dispenses.  It's crazy, because she's naturally a good dog, doesn't pull on lead, walks next to you, is polite.  But "Sit"???  Heaven forbid.  And forget that "Down" junk, she says.  She must be able to sit and down in the evaluation.  It's a killer because she's such a wonderful potential therapy dog already.  Her love is children, and she's incredible gentle and intuitive in all of her interactions with them.  But we must have sit before she can play for real! Stick out tongueSmile

Yikes, I have no clue why I thought I'd seen something that said "50". On another forum I visit there's a woman who is turning 50 this weekend but that was huge leap to think it was your husband. Ugh - I'm not sure you'd want to compare your mind to mine Embarrassed

    Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians!

Indeed - eat well and enjoy the day!

wow we went from about 40* on Thursday morning to nearly 90* and HUMID yesterday.  Today is very overcast in the low 80's and HUMID.  My sinuses are taking me down!  AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!  Ouch.  Took some sudafed and at least I dont' feel dizzy and nauseous anymore.

I am finishing up some paperwork from the week - it really never ends these days.  I have a client that scheduled for tomorrow too.  I am so not doing any work on Monday! Oh and my house needs cleaning and DH leaves again tomorrow so were kind of hoping to spend some time together.  Ah well.

Still struggling with the surgery decision for Bugsy - it is so severe but looking necessary.  I will speak to the original guy on Monday now that I have more info.

My aunt was released from the hospital but I have no updates yet - they say no more chemo or other meds.  Never a good thing.  MIL is hanging in there - doing better than they first said but losing facilities daily.

I bought some huge porterhouse steaks from Costco yesterday so that's dinner with some fresh sweet potatoes and something green that is yet to be determined.   Might steam some shrimp as a pre-dinner snack

I am happy about the Yankees Big Smile
