Phew, what a long MC thread!
Jackie, big hugs for your puppy-less household. I hope the new foster sends you updates. You sure made a difference for that little pup.

Glenda, so glad things seem to have gone well in surgery!
Amanda, bummer about the pig flu! I'm glad you're on the mend. But do be careful - it still can be quite serious. I won't relate the horror story I heard tonight, but it was bad. Take care of yourself and get well soon! Then you and Annie can have a cast-off.
I'm out of town visiting family. Nice to see the relatives, but my teeth are wearing down from all the gritting around my Step-Monster. She goes on and on about how "spiritually enlightened" she is, and then criticizes anything that moves! She is the worst mean-spirited gossiper I've ever met - the only way she ever seems to feel okay about herself is by putting others down. Sure sounds "enlightened" to me. 
She is the most phony/superficial person I've ever met. She even feigns a foreign accent. Gahhhhh! I just keep telling myself: this is an exercise in love and patience. I love my father, so I must be patient with his wife. Sigh. Looking forward to going home tomorrow!
