Well, so much for obeying the no witchyness rule.

I'm angry at my brother.  He doesn't talk to my Dad.  Not for any reason he's given me, just doesn't talk to him.  He texted me last night to ask if Dad was still alive.  Apparently he was talking to CJ (who is, for the record, my father's crazy ex's son) and CJ thought Dad was dead.  Well then my brother 'got confused' and didn't know if the man was dead or not.

So I wrote him an email basically saying I didn't think it was right, what he was doing (waited till this morning, so I'd cooled down, and sent it to 2 others to make sure it wasn't too nasty).  He responded w/ such negativity I couldn't even answer right away w/o tears.

    GGGgggrrrrrr....family.....grump grump grump

On the good side, which is being way over shadowed by my current mood.  Our offer was accepted.  So now as long as everything falls into place, I will have a house by my birthday.

Oh and good thoughts Glenda for your family, and Annie for Maghee (I think I spelled it wrong) and your foot, and Bugsy's mom's toe, and anyone else who needs them :o)

I've got experience in the "not-talking-to-Dad" department.  I used to be the peace maker.  Now I'm practicing the Art of Allowing, and letting people in my family decide what is best for them.  Doesn't mean I tolerate them talking badly about the person they don't talk to - unless there are legit reasons.  The more I listen to the gripers, though, without telling them they're wrong, the more I hear legit reasons for not talking.  There's so many "not-talking-to-insert-name-here" things going on, I think my grandmother has actually disinherited people.

aaannyhoow - it's supposed to be 80 degrees today, then 75 tomorrow, then 60s and I think 50s the rest of the week.  ickers.  I looked at Tucson weather - it's 107 today, then 90s the rest of the week.  MAN, I miss Tucson weather. :D

Today is Patrick's first day at the house without human supervision.  I fully expect the door to be scratched up, since sister neglected to get his crate set up last night, and didn't go purchase a bigger crate, either.  She wants the vet to prescribe downers to keep him quiet for a few days - ummm, my tongue is bleeding from me biting it.

OH!  Annie, I would so bathe Aspen and Grady for you!!  I love them both, and they'd get extra liver treats from Auntie Paige. (I'm a little curious to see what Aspen would look like, all wet and soapy.)

Hope our injured and ill get better fast!!!

Steph, I'm sorry your having family trouble.  It's always been a wonder to me that some people seem to have such perfect, happy families.  I think they lie. lol  Mine has always been full of drama, jealousy, idiocy and the necessary amount of love to keep us all somewhat bonded together in our shared lunacy.   CONGRATS on the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Party!!!

Perhaps he has his own reasons. People rarely give someone the silent treatment for no reason. Now, that reason may not be true, nor sensible, but it makes sense to them for whatever reason.

What is with people thinking they should drug their dogs for things. A receptionist at work had two littermate Rotties. She, firstly, never trained them. Ever. And when one dog acted as a normal, young active dog does she got it prescribed Prozac. Amazingly the vet actually gave her meds, rather than telling her to exercise and train the dog. She finally rehomed the dog, though I'm not sure the new home is much better..though at least she is exercised now.

I think it's an epidemic around the country, and it drives me insane!  I said what I could to discourage her, and I feel confident (having met the surgeon and other doctors) that they will steer her away from this, too, if she still wants to call them.  She needs to deal with the consequences of the accident and surgery, period.  She really adores her dog, and it's not that she doesn't want the best for him - she would do anything to make him feel better.  She thinks this is the easiest method to making him feel better, instead of accepting that he's going to be a lot of work over the coming weeks to keep him settled/quiet.

It's in the mid 60s here and it looks like it's going to rain.  I'd like a nice, hard rain to wash the bird poop off the patio umbrella before I pack it away for the winter.

Sometimes I make my own pico de gallo salsa (a few tomatoes diced up, two or three cans or RoTel, drained and tossed in, a minced red onion, a bunch of cilantro, salt, pepper and garlic powder ... or I buy it at the grocery store.  The pico de gallo type usually comes in a plastic container and is in the cold section with the cheeses. It comes mild, medium or hot.

BBQ?  How about Gates BBQ sauce?  Anyone had that?  And in KC, right in the heart of the stockyards (or used to be) is the Golden Ox.....the best steak joint on this planet!

These folks next door are not multi generation.  They go from late teens to mid-late 20's.  I see the little ones waiting for their bus, always with an adult.  They are clean and well dressed so I'm not sure I could "suspect abuse" because I seriously doubt if there is any, other than perhaps to the older folks there.  If they are illegal, I'd hate for them to be deported because things might be worse where they came from, but, I don't like the idea of them being some sort of indentured servants either.

You all have me craving Mexican food.  Yummmmmm.

I took Chloe to the vet today (annual visit).  She got a clean bill of health and soooo many compliments.  How nice is it to hear that your dog is one of the best examples of it's breed that your vet has seen?  Yay!  I scheduled her spay, and he answered all my questions.  So I feel much better about it now.

Steph, first...CONGRATS on the house!!  How exciting.  When the house warming party??? :)  You spelled her name right.  You get a gold star. :)

Update on my foot.... If you're going to do something do it right.  I seem to have really messed it up but good.  It's been basically 1.5 days since I messed it up & I'm going bonkers already.  I'm looking @ surgery.  Yippie!

    • Gold Top Dog

Annie, if it needs to be fixed, surgically, just get it done.  Trust me on this one, you will feel soooo much better after it is fixed, & recovery is so much easier.  I had my hand fixed earlier this year, & even just after waking up from surgery I felt soo much better.

Since we are discussing breaks, I took my cast off this evening.  I accidentally got it nasty & couldn't deal with the smell, so I used the dremel & a cutting attachment to cut it off.  I have an appointment tomorrow to get it replaced.
