    MC Tuesday

Oh its so cool here today!  I went out for a smoke and ALMOST came back in for a robe.  63!  There is a kindly spirit of nature!  Now, to anyone who doesn't live in the deep south I'm sure that 63 doesn't sound cool.  Trust me, down here it is a blessing of nature.  Especially for those of us who don't tolerate the heat well.

I'm heading out for my walk since it's actually cool enough I won't pass out from the heat!  Kind of nice to be able to walk when it's LIGHT!

    Have a great day all.

I am heading back to work after a long weekend.  We had a family wedding on Saturday and then DH and I made our own after party.  We went to see the band that played at our wedding at a club on the way home.

Yesterday, a friend of mine gave us his great seats for the Red Sox game.  And, despite them losing (badly), an hour rain delay and the game getting called in the 7th inning because it wasn't stopping--we still had a great time!  DH had TWO sausage, peppers, onions and I got one of those ice cream hats!!

After yesterday's  "witchfest" I want everyone to cheer the hel* up right now.

    That's an order.

    That is all.

whoa nelly it is 48* this morning - they weren't kidding about a cold front.  Bugsy has been out all morning - I can sense him breathing a sigh of relief, "ah this fur coat is finally a bonus!"

DH just chewed me out because I used his car yesterday and didn't fill it up - um well I only went about 20 miles and the warning didn't sound Embarrassed  Truth is I was on such a tight schedule I couldn't be bothered........... don't tell him!

Annie I hope your foot doesn't feel too badly this morning!

Lori, win or loose, crappy weather or no, you MUST know that I am postively GREEN with envy!! Man, that team is hurting though with both Lester and Becket hurt.  And it just HAD to be a damned yankee who hurt Lester!

I am right now sitting next to an OPEN window!!  Haven't opened windows since we moved in and it feels sooooo nice.  We have had maybe two or three nights that have been cool enough to open the windows, but, when you have 24 windows in the house, opening them for the night and then having to close them in the morning is one heck of a lot of hassle.

I'm wondering something......guess I'd like some ideas here.  The house next to us sits way back so we see most of what goes on just by virtue of sitting in the house.  Now, the house is owned by an Asian? Chinese?  Oriental? (which is PC) man who owns a Chinese resturant.  He "rents" this house to his employees.  For months there were two women, two small children and 4 men living there.  They are quiet, don't bother anyone, etc.  However, a couple weeks ago the yard guy was asking me about contacting the homeowner since "no one over there speaks English".  Hmmmm.  Funny since they have the newspaper delivered mornings.  Then this past week TWICE someone has brought more folks to live there....they just drive in drop them off and leave, including a newborn baby.  So I'm wondering if this is some sort of bondage thing?  Workers paying off their fare?  Being made to live together so they don't run?

On the one hand, I'd hate to see anyone forced to live this way, yet on the other hand, perhaps these folks are far better off than they were and I should just shut my eyes to it??

    What do you guys think?

Yes, ma'am!   I'm all bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning and feeling good.  Cooler than the last few days have been and it feels good outside.  We are due for some rain showers which will be nice if I don't have to drive across town during a storm.  My glasses are supposed to be ready today.  This will be the third attempt to get them right. Sad

Karen, I can't believe it's so cool there already.  Bugs, good thing you are feeling better and able to enjoy this nice weather.  How's the toe?

Annie, hoping your foot isn't hurting too much this morning.

I just remembered my cakes are ready.  Hope they didn't burn up.  Yoville.

If you think there are children involved, Glenda, you can anonymously report abuse (or suspected abuse) in FL by contacting the Florida Abuse hotline - sorry I can't make the link live but here ya go [http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/abuse/].

I've had the worst headache for 3 days now, today makes day #4. I'm thinking allergies or sinus infection, my face hurts and so do my ears :(

Annie I hope your foot feels better soon! Can you get a boot? BF's dad broke his foot and he has a boot. You better send the paps and Grady down for a nice FL vacation while you recover.

Off to do sample lesson plans, I have to present to my science class tonight, ugh.

68 and raining here this morning.

I am still sick, & Bev is trying to drive me crazier than usual.  He refused to go for a walk with DH this morning.  Instead, he opted to stay in bed with me & snuggle.  I should have known that snuggling was just a ploy to stay with me, in hopes that I would take him on a better walk.  A walk not involving a leash.  Now, he is pacing, throwing stuffies at me, & alerting at everything that moves outside the window.  I've had to tell him that those funny things falling from the sky are rain drops.  I know that we don't see them often, but still.  One day, I am going to not be suckered by his sweet snuggles.

Movers are going to be here in the morning.

ETA:  Glenda, if you have concerns about your neighbors, then you should report it.  That being said, right after I graduated college, I lived in a very small apartment in Houston.  My next door neighbors were Vietnamese.  They lived in a 2 bedroom apartment, & there were 12 adults, along with 4 children living there.  Apparently, this was normal for their culture.

Glenda, I totally understand how you feel.  I love this time of year.  It's cool & it's nice to go outside & not a chore.

I agree with Deb, no witchies today.

Alright, who wants to give Grady & Aspen baths today?  G rolled in something lovely yesterday before I broke my foot & well, I just can't wrangle him into the tub in my present condition.  Aspen gets to wear a belly band since he is a little house marker.  Well DH let him out this am & didn't see/forgot to take his band off.  Yep, poor kiddeaux peed all over himself.  He's not pleased nor am I.  I will not witch at DH though.

I can't do too much today but I am trying to desensitize G to the crutches.  He's scared to death of them.  Poor guy.  He's been tweeky ever since I got home.  Any hints?

I want to thank everyone for your kind thoughts.  I still can't believe it happened.  It stinks that my whole body is sore from using muscles I forgot I had in ways that are foreign to me as well as my foot.  *whimper*  Mommy make it better!!

That's all for now.  I'm afraid that I'll be here alot today.  Get used to it. ~L~

    OK, I will behave today.

My day started with a 6am txt message from one of the bosses wives..."sick, staying home"...so I had to come into the office early and cancel his day. Then I had to finish cleaning out the fridge I started defrosting yesturday. Then I had to pull the charts for the day, then I had to check messages....and I did it all before 8am.

    I am exhausted.

    But in a good mood!

The temp here was about 48 this morning and it was very pleasent. My windows have been opened since Friday. My gas/elec bill was $86 last month, which is about $25 cheaper than the month before, I am shooting for $50 this month.

Glenda, I was, and I could be wrong, under the impression that asian families usually had several generations living together. I would say go with your instincts.

I'm tired and feel crappy today.

That said, I'm making fajitas for dinner tonight with the left over steak from the stir fry I made last night.  mm.  But does anyone know what sauce goes on fajitas?  I'm going to pick up the flat beard today, but I don't know what sauce?

Annie, what about laying the crutches down and put treats on them? lol, i have no clue.  Maddie is terrified of anything that's "new" in the house.  So usually we leave it on the floor and let her check them out at her own pace.  But we can't make any sudden noises or movements while she is doing so, or she'll take off lol

    • Gold Top Dog

Lauren, see if you can find a "fajitas" seasoning package where you would normally find taco seasoning.

Does he know 'touch'?  If B is funky about something that is what I use.  Once he touches it and gets a treat he is OK with it all.

As for yourself make sure you take some anti-inflammatories!

OK so I ventured out to take B for a walk because holy poop the boy was on fire (Jackie toe is sore but very tolerable).  My walk began like a Marmaduke cartoon.  he is really something this dog - what I don't know, but something!

So he spots Campbell's mom with the two doxies at the corner of our cul de sac.  We are still in our drive so he goes to take off to see them.  I keep hold and slow him down.  At which point the big golden across the road who is the laziest dog on earth comes silly floppy skipping towards us, which sends B into joyous insanity. His owner is cracking up - no one can recall the last time Cody moved so fast LOL (cool weather does it to all of them).  You would think that B would be happy to be having a love fest with 3 buddies but no.  he smells something (cat I would think) and bolts towards the neighbors house.  Me at the other end of the leash winds up going head over heels and sliding on the wet grass on my back with my arm outstretched,  heading towards the shrubs.  I am not totally sure how I got up and how I prevented him from successfully planting me in the shrubs.  Campbell's mom was both horrified and hysterically laughing. B didn't seem to notice anything ha ha

My back was all muddy and full of grass, and I walked the neighborhood like that.  Probably have clumps of grass in my hair.  It is a good thing A)  I love him and B) I have a sense of humor

that's all for now - and yes 48* is amazing when it was 90* yesterday!

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow, it feels nice outside this morning!  Currently 57 degrees...fall is here and I am soooo happy about it.  I love fall.

Man, I sure hope everyone heals up soon!  Broken bones, flus, headaches...everyone get better!

Supposed to get Dish Network installed at the house today.  BF is so excited.  He's been researching the satellite TV option so we can dump cable.  His main beef....the hockey package.  If the local broadcast is in HD on the hockey package channels, for some reason our local cable provider compresses the feed, so it's not in HD, even though we have an HDTV, and it actually looks worse than the channels that aren't broadcast in HD.  Supposedly Dish Network carries all the HD feeds without compressing them.

So due to the change today, we had to watch, like, 6 shows we had on our DVR last night, because today we'll lose them.  I even made a list of all the shows we record on the season pass so I don't forget to set them up on our new DVR, lol.
