Karen, every time I read Marmaduke, I think of Bugsy!  There was one cartoon in the daily paper last week that was esp. fitting, but do you think I remembered not to put that one in the recycle bin?

Annie, I am sorry about your foot.  I'd come bathe your dogs if I lived a wee bit closer.  Here's an Agnes story to make you smile, though.  Last night I got home from work, fed her and the cats, then go into my room to change out of my work clothes, told Agnes I'd take her for a walk once in my grubbies.  Ags stood outside my doorway, right at the baby gate, and actually barked at me as if to say "hurry up".  Then when I climbed back over the gate and went to find my shoes, she literally trotted into the living room and did a little happy dance!  This is the same dog who could barely walk 5 weeks ago!  She did a partial turn, pranced with her front feet, ears perked up, and gave another bark!

That said, I'm making fajitas for dinner tonight with the left over steak from the stir fry I made last night.  mm.  But does anyone know what sauce goes on fajitas?  I'm going to pick up the flat beard today, but I don't know what sauce?

ROFL!  You poor Northerners don't have a clue.  Sorry, but authentic fajitas are marinated for several hours and then grilled and served with pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, refried beans and lettuce and tomatoe for the gringos.  In flour tortillas!  Flat bread and sauce do not a fajita make.  LOL   Just kidding but us Texans take our fajitas seriously!

Annie, put some treats close to the crutches while they are on the floor next to you and gradually work G closer until he will take the treat off the crutch.  Gradually try moving the crutch without picking it up, just nudge with your good foot a tiny bit.  Touch works good if he's familiar with the concept.  Do you clicker train?  Oh, just saw that Lauren already suggested this but I missed it in my laughter over her "fajitas".

Oh my, Karen!  Well, thank goodness you survived your ski ride across the grass.  Bugs, be cool, you fool. lol

editing for spelling and to say WAY TO GO Agnes girl!!

Wowza, had to turn the heat on a bit this AM to get the chill out!  It's in the low 50s and expected to remain there most of today.  I enjoy fall, but we went from 80 to 50 in less than a week.  Weird Pittsburgh weather, the rivers and hills make it wonky sometimes.

Sammy has gone an entire 7 days without vomiting!  YAY!  I made a ginormous pot of rice last night for him, and left it out to cool and forgot to put it in the fridge Embarrassed After a coworker of mine got food poisoning from improperly stored rice (apparently it's common from rice, it's called b. cerious or something like that) I'm a bit more anal about things like that. So he got instant rice this AM since I just didn't have time.  Sigh.  spoiled pup :)

I've never had fajitas -- Jackie you should come up and teach us northerner's how to do it right!  They sound yummy. I've seen them come out sizzling in skillets at restaurants though.

I have paperwork to file, and I'm good at the paperwork but no so good at explaining what needs to go ON the paperwork.  I was supposed to have it in last week, but I need to meet with a few people since I just can't answer these questions.  They're very specific about something I have no experience with, so I guess it's better to do it right than have it get sent back, but TPTB don't ever seem to see that.....

    Have a good one, everyone!

WOW, you TEXANS shure do things the hard way! Just kidding Jackie, I usually make my fajitas with a seasoning mix, but they are built on floured tortillas with pico do gallo, sour cream, guacamole and saute'd peppers and onions. So close.

    Want to talk pizza?

Karen?? I hope your ok, seriously Bugsy is to funny for words.

    saute'd peppers and onions.

Dang, busted me.  I forgot the grilled peppers and onions!  lol

Heather, we won't even talk BBQ cause everyone knows Texas invented it so what's to talk about.  LOL  Pizza is something I rarely make at home but when I do it's always margharita pizza with fresh mozarella and basil from the garden and homemade marina sauce.  Store bought dough cause I'm lazy.

I brought chicken salad for lunch and can't wait to eat.  Have a nice ripe avocado to slice and add to my sammich.

    haha!  well, excuuuuuuuse me! lol

Okay, so flat bread is different from tortilla bread?  I will have to look at that in the grocery store tonight.   And I will be sauteeing onion and yellow and orange peppers with it, and i have cheese and sour cream to go in them

A question (I won't say 'stupid' this time :P) what is pico de gallo? lol

This is my favorite, but I also love all kinds. From deep dish to cracker crust. All toppings with the exception of fish.

I am having tuna fish for lunch, with fresh tomato.

And thank you ladies I am now hungry for fajitas and pizza, the meatloaf I put together last night for the hubby to cook will be sadly lacking in the "I want it now" department. I blame you all!

    what is pico de gallo?

I know it as the not-so-hot-salsa from qdobas, but I'm sure the "experts" will chime in shortly!

ETA - the expert beat me to it! LOL

A question (I won't say 'stupid' this time :P) what is pico de gallo? lol

I believe the translation is something like beak of the rooster but it's not!   Tomatoes, jalepeno peppers ( fresh or pickled), green onions and cilantro with a squeeze of lime.  Rough chop and top your "fajitas" with it for culinary bliss.  Tortillas are flour, lard and a little salt and water mixed into a dough, rolled out into rounds, flattened thin as you like and placed on a hot cast iron skillet for a few minutes on each side till they have tasty little brown parts.  My gosh I am now starving to death and it's two hours till lunch.

Oh no Nicole, not me. For that we must wait for an AUTHENTIC recipe. That is a basic one.

    Snort.

    hahahahahaha.................

WOW!!!  Some of you don't know how to make "real" fajitas, & others have never eaten fajitas.  What is wrong with you people??? Stick out tongue

Heather, I've tasted Atlanta bbq, & well, honestly, it wasn't nearly as good as Texas bbq.  Of couse, Texas bbq can't hold a candle to Kansas City bbq, but neither here nor there....

L.Michelle, here flatbread & tortillas are totally different.  Flatbread is much thicker than tortillas, & not nearly as tasty as tortillas when you are talking fajitas.

    I'm having chicken noodle soup.
