    Mindless chat Thursday

Beautiful but cold morning here - it was about 40 degrees on my way to work (I biked today).

Last night there was a squirrel in the yard next door and once Agnes spotted it, her ears perked up and she almost broke into a run, like she was going to chase it, as it went back and forth on the other side of the fence.

My boss is coming down sick and I've instructed him to go home because I don't want his germs!

Woooo hooo - you go Agnes !!

Is it really only Thursday ????  After the ****storm yesterday, I went home and drowned myself in vats and vats of vodka and peach iced tea.

I feel ready to take on the world today.

OMG!  Already its that cold???  Gosh, I'm so glad I'm out of MI!  Our weather though the last several days hasn't been the best.  Extremely high humidity, overcast and nasty storms during the days.  I'm ready for a little *gentle* sunshine.

Good for you for sending the boss home.

Riley's swim classes start tonight which should be fun.  The challenge will be getting her out of the pool when class is over!  Not too busy day today; however I have an extremely long and boring meeting this afternoon that I am NOT looking forward to.

     Go Agnes!

Deb, you weren't the only one who endured a **** storm yesterday!  I wish that I would have drowned my worries away last night....

I met with DS#1's principal this morning, & he was level headed enough to reconsider sending DS to in school suspension again.  He also recommended that we have DS take a placement test in December in hopes of advancing him to 7th grade.  Currently, he is bored out of his mind in his classes.  Once he finishes his work, he entertains himself by disrupting the rest of the class.  We shall see.

    ETA:  GO AGNES GO!

I'm so impatient to get that puppy up to be scanned for a chip.  Naturally, this morning I'm by myself and can't leave yet.  I made a tentative app't for 10:30.  If she has no chip, I'll get her heartworm tested and vacc'd.

Tina, good job on telling the boss to keep his germs to himself.  I swear everyone seems to be sick or knows someone who has some sort of crud.

I tossed and turned all night, listening for the puppy, who was very good.  She was quiet all night and went outside this morning and did her business like a big girl.   I won't rehome her until I am sure I have made every effort to find her owner.  I've been in this position more than once and had success so I'll stay positive.

The weather is wonderful here this morning and I wish I were outside and not stuck indoors.

THAT is EXACTLY what got me into all my troubles with the Nuns.

Ugh.  Last night I went to sleep around 930, then woke up at 12:40, and was awake until just after 4, then up at 5:40.  I'm tired at work today.  And as a result, I'm grumpy and there's stuff that needs to be done, which sucks and I don't want to do it.  Sucks.  I want a nap

Go AGNES!!!  I'm so proud of you.  It's amazing what some love, TLC & good old medical care can do for an old girl.  I'm placing a standing order for your mom to give you kisses & lovins from me on a daily basis.

Deb, I'm glad you survived the sh^t storm yesterday.  I was just about to offer to bring over a bottle of vodka that I got by some really cool lady when my storm was happening.  Ah, the offer is always there.

Amanda, how is your arm doing?  How's Bru today?  I hope that DS can test to a higher grade.  Sending vibes for that to happen your way.

I slept like poop last night & I REFUSE to believe that a beer & a half gave me the headache that started around 4am & is still bothering me.  I think it's that I forgot to take my Allegra.  Ragweed is the bane of my existance.

We seem to be having another bout of rain & cool weather.  I'll be glad to send it anywhere but here.  Texas is out since I sent way too much down that way.  Sorry girls.

    That's it for now.

ETA: I'm so glad that puppy found her way into your home, Jackie.  I know she's got a great chance at a good life wherever that may be.

Annie, your kisses and rubs can and will be delivered daily!  Agnes's other new thing is that she follows me everywhere, like 2 inches from my legs follow me.

We can use a bit of that rain...

ETA: Lisa, I can't believe you ever got into trouble with the nuns at school.  Deb, OTOH, well that's another story (and one I'd love to hear over a half-vat of vodka).Stick out tongue

    Ooooooooooooooooooh DO tell, Lisa !!

I still to this day break out in a cold sweat whenever I see a Nun.  My poor Father had to made considerable "contributions" to the Church to get me through High School.

Amanda... when I was in elementary school, I entertained myself by doing arts and crafts in class. During social studies, the girl who sat next to me and I once made an entire mini-mini-golf course out of brightly colored index cards. I don't know why we never got in trouble, except that maybe the teacher didn't care because we weren't disruptive about it?

If your son can't test into a higher, more challenging grade... maybe you could suggest he take up quiet cartooning during class? Wink I don't know how appropriate the suggestion would be, coming from an adult, but...

Edited to add: I had forgotten, but the girl who made the mini golf course with me? She ended up going to Harvard! So I guess the experience didn't scar her academically. Wink

Tina, I'm glad Agnes got to "play" with the squirrel :)

Annie, send your rain to CA? We certainly don't want it here, up north!

Today I am FREAKING OUT because I'm taking the GREs on Saturday. Multiple-choice math tests are not my forte, and I haven't taken a math class in over 6 years, so I've spent the last month trying to re-learn stupid things like basic algebra. Confused Exponents... those are those tiny little numbers way up high, right? And triangles... those have 3 angles that all add up to something.... and some of them are special for some reason... wheeeeee. I've been busting my butt studying, but I'm still not at all confident about my performance. Fingers tightly crossed. Worst case scenario I can re-take the test in a month.

There was this once when I threw up rum and coke on a Priest at a dance at our brother school (I went to an all girl school)...

Or this other time we were having relay races in the hall with the wheel chairs

Or this other time we were caught in the parking lot having a beverage before cheerleading practice

    Or...

Oops, gotta get back to work...

Thankfully, I didn't have nuns to contend with!  I would have been beat to oblivion with a ruler!

I was the same way.  I ended up being advanced two grades so that I was challenged a little.  I was miserable before that time though.
