Look Who Followed Us Home Updated

We went to our usual place to walk the dogs and the minute we pulled up I saw this pup sitting among some carpet someone had dumped.  She didn't move when I got out of the car but the moment I bent down and called her she came racing to me.  What could I do but bring her home?  She is probably around five months old.  She has most of her puppy teeth from what I can see.  She is thin but not emaciated thin.  No visible ID.  I gave her a bath because she had either mud or feces on her flanks.  She hasn't been a stray long from the looks of it.  Her ears are clean and I saw no fleas or ticks. She's nervous but seems very nice.  She was good meeting my dogs and acting like a pup her age should act.  I'll take her in tomorrow and have her checked for a chip and go from there.  Fingers crossed that someone is missing her.

Soooo cute! I hope she's lost, and not dumped.

There's a lost and found section on the GSD forum.

I'll check that out Lies.  I checked our local paper's online lost and found.  The two GSD's were no where near us but I did contact them via email, just in case.  She's in a crate, protesting mightily.

OMG she is so cute!  I hope she has a great home that is missing her!  Good luck!

Blessings on you for rescuing this pup. And yes, people do abandon dogs in the oddest places. 4 years ago, a guy came up to the fire station I was working on and he was directed to me, the "dog guy."

He found a 3 month old female GSD pup in the middle of an fm road. Miles from the nearest house. Too far for a pup that age to have gone that far. Someone had come to a stop, set her on the pavement, and took off.

Wow, I did not expect the pic to be an adorable GSD pup!!  I sure hope someone's missing her.  In the meantime, she's in excellent hands.

    Keep us posted.

Aww, cutie girl.  Check craigslist, too... people post their missing dogs there pretty frequently.

I've checked craigslist and the forum Lies mentioned.  Three possibles but I will wait until I have her scanned before I start actively contacting people. I hate to give anyone false hope by contacting them needlessly.  She's quite a sweety and very vocal.  Thanks everyone for the contact info.  I'll keep you posted.

She is beautiful - bless you Jackie, you are her angel!! I would call local shelters tomorrow morning as well, I'm sure you were already planning on doing that. I do agree with checking Craigslist.....a lot of people post about their lost animals. I hope all turns out well!

Oh my that face!  I'm so glad you found her.  I hope she just got lost and is reunited soon.  She's in the best possible hands though!

omg she is so cute!!! I hope she has a family looking for her and she wasnt just dumped... There have been a lot of purebreds being dumped around here lately. I cant believe no one is out looking for that pretty little pup

Awwww, what sweet floppy ears!  I hope your listings pan out, and she has owners out there looking for her.
