    Toozday chat

Paige, in reply to MC Moanday, the spinning Dobe is black and tan.  I will try to find out if rescue takes her - I have to stop at the shelter later today.

Did I mention our rescue group asked me to be volunteer coordinator?  I accepted last week.  Mostly I will be contacting people who sign up, doing orientation, and also taking volunteer observations/complaints/compliments to the board of directors.  There were two ladies who filled out apps to volunteer in May, but nobody had contacted them - argh!  That is one of my pet peeves, follow-up.  You can't get volunteers if you blow people off.  Oy.

Amanda, I hope Brutus's health improves, that you at least find an answer.  Sending gentle rubs.  And also good vibes for your own bites to heal.

Sarah, I did re-send the late tax payment to the city in the envelope I originally sent so they could see it was previously sent and returned.  I didn't think to put a note in it, though.  DOH!  It does clearly say that postmarks are not accepted, though there is no disclaimer for blonde moments!  LOL

Last night I went to the front door to go outside and Agnes decided she would try to make a break for it!  Crazy little dog!  So I put a leash on her and we went for a little walk.  She is weak, but went gung-ho for the first block; second block was at old-lady pace, but she really went into beagle mode - I'm so happy to sniff everything!  So I've decided I will at least take her a block each day, more if she seems up to it.  She was so weak when she first came home she could hardly make it around the back yard.  Fortunately she's not too heavy or large to carry if I must.  If I didn't mention previously, she's a beagle mix.

Oh man, tell me about it !!  It sometimes takes me & Jamison an hour to go around one small block !!!  Heaven forbid he smells a rabbit and we could be out there all day !!!

Can't think of a better person for the job!  Our local AC has a volunteer program to try and help more dogs get adopted.  I know many people who never received call backs when they tried to volunteer.

Agnes, you just keep going on those walks even if they are only a block long.  :)

Amanda, I hope that you & Bru are healing well.  Is there any more news on him?

Oh Agnes, you are silly.  I love your spunk & attitude.  You're not going to let some silly heartworms slow you down any.  Tina, give her some luvins from me.

Nothing exciting to report.  I'm off to the PO to ship off a few boxes & to look for a bow tie for Aspen.

Tina - Congrats on the new volunteer position. They're very lucky to have you and I know you'll do a fantastic job. And woohoo for Agnes and her wanting to take walks again. She's also very lucky to have you.

Boss will be in early and some big wig will be here at 9 for a meeting with him. I'm hoping I won't be included in the meeting but that's probably wishful thinking.

Yesterday was my first day in the gym where I did some strength training and I am really feeling it today. Just to reach up and close the sunroof in my car made me wince. I usually hurt worse the 2nd day after working out, so tomorrow should be even more fun.Sad

Amanda, I just caught up on all that is going on with you...wow...glad you and Brutus are ok.

And congratulations Ron, your job sounds awesome!

I've had a great couple of weeks lately. Working on improving my attitude, went shopping on Sunday and got four tops. DH has complimented me alot and just said "thank you" instead of "really? my belly doesn't look too fat?" My inlaws have also been in town and we had a fun time hanging out with them this past weekend.

The very best thing is, I mentioned to DH in casual conversation that it makes me stressed when the house is messy, and he hired a cleaning lady yesterday. She was here 5 hours, even cleaned inside the fridge. The best best best thing is, she's coming every Monday.

On a sour note, it's pouring and my roof is still leaking...this started a couple weeks ago, but it's been so dry since that I'd actually forgotten to call someone about it.

What on earth does Aspen need a bowtie for? LOL.

Homework and laundry here today, ugh. That's about all.

Wow, I'm sooooo jealous and your husband sounds like a great guy!!

It's way too nice outside to be working. Can't we put our heads together and figure out a way to earn money without working? Hmm

Meeting between boss and big wig isn't going in the direction we'd have liked. Hope it turns around soon.

I am so tired. Had my cousin's wedding on Saturday, a bachelorette party on Sunday, work Monday and today. I couldn't sleep last night, I just lay there my brain would not stop racing...so I am exausted today. Coffee is not working. I think I'm so beyond tired that it's keeping me from sleeping. I'm going to lay off the caffene today and take some Tylenol PM tonight. I do have the day off tomorrow. As long as the secretary in our main office dosn't go into labor tonight.

Ben said last night that he had a pins & needles feeling where his incision is on his back. I'm thinking that has to do with the healing process. Once he started talking about his back, I couldn't help but think about his accident all night long. We both laid awake last night actually. I can't imagine why we couldn't sleep?

Miss Lily needs a bath. Hopefully I have the ambition to do that tomorrow. My house also needs some super cleaning.

Barbara, I enjoyed your cruise photos! I'm so jealous! My friends are going on a Carnival cruise in 2 weeks for their honeymoon. It looks like they'll have a blast!

I hope everyone has a good rest of the day and get some sleep for me will ya?! Wink

I don't think she posted them here YET.  I saw them on fb.  Hint, hint Barb.

Kristi I hope you get some sleep tonight.  I hate laying in bed with thoughts I don't want running through my mind.  Take a nice relaxing bath before bedtime with a warm damp cloth over your eyes.

Cathy, I'm glad you are back to work full time because it means you're healed but I agree we all need jobs that don't tie us down and allow us outside when the weather is great.  It's beautiful here today.

I found out a friend of mine crashed his helicopter this past weekend.  Amanda probably saw it on the news in her area.  He walked away without a scratch but is crying because his copter is in a thousand pieces.  He's lucky to be alive.  I'm one of those people who isn't afraid of flying but I do believe we are terrestrial creatures and I'm most comfortable on the ground. lol

I am getting worried - I've found I'm grinding the front of my teeth quite a bit....to the point that they feel sensitive now.  Argh!  Since I know I'm doing it while I'm awake, I can only imagine how much worse it is at night.

I got a job offer which is a contract for a year.  Hmmm... not as much money as I wanted... but they don't want someone who will leave the position for something else.  Sounds like an easy enough job, though.

Trying to lose weight, exercising more and keeping it under 1100 calories - but the same 2 lbs has drifted up and down the scale all week.  PEEVES me!

    • Gold Top Dog

Jackie, I'm glad your friend was not hurt in the crash.  Helicopter crashes are really scary - at least in a plane, you might glide a bit, but 'copters tend to go straight down.

All belly rubs, kisses, etc. were delivered to Agnes at lunch time.
