I maile something once, with the mailing address facing the wrong way.  It took a good 10-12 days to get back to me, when it obviously couldn't even had made it outside the post office since no one could see the addy!  That was a dumb mistake.... but couldn't believe how long it took to get back to me.

Jackie, that's an excellent suggestion!  Except the boss is the one who has the access to do it and he is out today.  I'm only a peon, can write checks, but not actually play in the bank accounts.  Crying

Well, I think it's kind of stupid to not have another person who can take care of emergencies when he's out.  What if it were something really important like the office was out of donut money or something!

Tina, I would call the tax office and tell them what happened and see if they will waive it.  If you are lucky, you just might be suprised.  In fact, keep the envelope you orginally mailed it in showing the postmark and write a letter if you have to explaining what happened and send a copy of the envelope with it.  More times than not, when dealing with both the tax offices, as well as the IRS, they have made exceptions if they saw a good faith attempt had been made.  We are only human you know. It is worth a try and the worst they can do it say no.

Oh and Happy Birthday Lisa and Infiniti and anyone else who might be celebrating!

I could use a break on the electric bill for a change.

Do you guys have SMUD?  I think they're a lot more reasonable than PG&E - otherwise known as Pigs, Greed & Extortion. Sad

    Joyce

We have PG&E but only for gas and that's running under $10 these days. Electric is thru Roseville Electric Co. and it's been about $250 the last 2 months. That's quite a bit higher than usual, even in the summer, so I'm guessing they raised rates and I didn't read about it.

I am so pleasantly surprised at how good I feel today. I was worried that a full day was going to be so hard, but it really hasn't been. I hope I continue to feel this way from here on out.

I called my husband and asked him how my boston pork behind was doing, I put it in the crock pot this morning with some seasoning, mushroom, onions and applesauce.

Can you share all the ingredients? It sounds delicous.

    I will:

it turned out pretty good, but I did replace apple jelly with apple sauce and added mushrooms. The one because I did not have the jelly and the shrooms because I like em!

for what it's worth there are a few recipes out there that call for sour *** and I usually slow roast my tenderloins in pineapples and orange juice...yummy.

LOL, I couldn't bellieve it either. The recipe looks great and I'm definitely going to try it. There's nothing I love more than a good crockpot recipe.

Thank you to everyone who said happy birthday!  Today has been a lot of fun.  DH took me out for breakfast and then to look for my new car, which is what I've really really been wanting to do but we never have a day off together.  When we came home I had presents to open, including a really awesome bluetooth earpiece that I've been wanting for a long time.  And we're going out to Olive Garden tonight for "Never-Ending Pasta Bowl", which is my fave.  The best part of my day is definitely just being able to spend time with DH.  Our schedules are so different, I feel like we don't see each other much, so it's been wonderful to have the day together.

Wowsa, only $10 for gas?  I mean, ours is cheap too, but at bare minimum we're still looking $25-$30.  But, we have a gas stove and a gas dryer, so maybe that's why I can't get it any lower?  I swear minimum fees and taxes are more than $10!  Our minimum electric used to be around $40-45 but at the new house it's more like $60.  I swear it's cuz every room has a chandelier or light with 6 bulbs - sheesh!

Work was a pain today.  I've been working on essentially a 100-page document for months, waiting on input from the doctors.  Well first I get yelled at for not getting it done, since weekly reminders aren't good enough to get them to finish their part.  Then, I find out today in the meantime, the powers that be have created a new version of said document and I have to re-do everything! We have a gas cooktop, but the oven is electric. I can't imagine cooking on an electric stove ever again - yuck!! Other than that, only the water heater uses gas. Our gas bill goes way up in the winter when then heat runs but the AC is what's making the electric bill so high right now. It hasn't even been one of our hotter summers, but I was home for those 6 weeks and it ran more than usual.

Cooktops are so cool; I've lived in 7 places and not one of them had an electric stove.  I just wouldn't know what to do with it!  cooktops would require an entire kitchen remodel probably, though.

I think we've run the AC only maybe 100 hours since we moved in in May.... we have a fancy new thermostat that happens to record all the usage so I was kind of watching just to get an idea.  We had a few hot days before we moved, but we didn't have good AC at the old place so it wasn't worth turning it on.  It's definitely been a weird summer overall.  Wonder what fall and winter will bring?  I miss having 4 seasons, Pittsburgh is nothing like Buffalo.... there's usually summer, 3 days of fall, winter, 5 days and spring and summer again.  I can't win.

We're dog sitting this weekend; should be fun! :)

    I am so tired.  Sleep

The vet isn't sure what's going on with Bru.  They did chest, & abdominal x-rays, both of which look "relatively normal."  They sent bloodwork out, & will, hopefully, have results tomorrow.  Bru's heart rate was a little faster than normal, & the vet mentioned cardiomyopathy more than once.  We have an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow.  He can evaluate him, & do another echo if need be.  Bru is still droopy, but I did get a kidney bean dance, & happy grunts when I picked him up.  I know that when we decided to keep him, I said that we were going to let him live out his life with us.  Now, I'm worried that his time might not be as long as I'd hoped. :(

My arm is infected.  Four of the bites are draining some really funky stuff.  I went back to the doctor today, & am on a new antibiotic.

On an upnote, DH's foul mood has lifted.  Tonight, he apologized for acting like a jerk.
