    MC Moanday!

shazam I am flying on adrenaline......................

so much to do and keep track of, good thing I have ADHD ha ha ha

And Bugsy is clearly feeling better and better.  He told me to tell you all the secret to healing is to eat both cicadas AND rabbit poop first thing in the morning.  If the cicadas are real big, skip the wings.  They are a bit scratchy in your throat Ick!

That is all!  Have a great start to the week all!

The V8 worked!  Not a single leg cramp last night and the really sore calf is a lot better this morning. Still a bit tender but a vast improvement.  Magic juice indeed!

That's about it for me so far.....

Happy to read that Ron is getting the teaching job!  Glad those of you in need of rain are getting that.  We've had a bit of a dry spell, no rain in September so far.  August was autumn-like and now September is hot and dry...weird.  Annie, if you could hook us up!

My weekend was uneventful except that I ate way too much chocolate.  Got nipped by a Westie at the shelter yesterday.  She got out the front door by mistake and she wasn't wearing a collar, so I had to pick her up, which was when she nailed me.

Hopefully Amanda & Brutus as well as Megan & Pirate are feeling even better.  Is Bevo de-skunked now?

Because the weather was so cool in August, my tomatoes weren't getting ripe, but the hot days recently have kicked them back into overdrive!  I'm so happy, I was getting bummed waiting to eat tomato sandwiches.

Tina, I hope that your "nip" is ok.

I dropped Brutus off at the vet this morning.  He's not acting right.  This morning when we got up, he didn't do his happy kidney bean dance for me.  Then he refused to eat.  He's just mopey, which is totally un-Brutus like.

Bevo still has that light skunk smell.  He went to day care today so that they can bathe him another time or ten.

Oh Brute - feel better so you can get your happy feet back !!

We went to the race track on Sat. to celebrate a friend's birthday party that he held in the clubhouse.  Anyway, I bet just for fun based on the horse's name or what colors they wear, etc.  I never, ever win more than like two bucks on any race I bet, and even winning is very rare for me.  Mr. W is the big bettor and wins quite a lot usually.  So anyway - I won over $300 and out bet Mr. W for once in my life !!!!  Yay me.  Lots of new treats for Jamison in store !!!

So did you hit all that on one ticket Deb?  I always think it's great when a casual bettor decides to deviate from the safe "show" bet, picks an exacta or trifecta, and walks away with money!

I forgot to mention, we got a Dobe in at the shelter. She is deaf and spins in a circle almost obsessively.  Apparently the woman who owned her wasn't told by the breeder she was deaf and when the owner decided she couldn't deal with the spinning, the breeder wouldn't take the dog back either.  Reputable...NOT.  Someone is supposed to be contacting 2nd Chance Dobes, so I hope this girl gets a new home.  I'd consider taking her, except Agnes is so frail I'm not sure a spinning Dobe 3 times her size would be helpful.  If I were independently wealthy and was home all day every day...

It was on all different bets - $25 here, $77 there, etc.  I kept winning on most of the ticket, which made the day so much fun !!

Yeah, Agnes doesn't need any extra stress !!!

the hot days recently have kicked them back into overdrive

It's been very warm here recently, and I have too many tomatoes!!!  I don't want them to spoil, so I'm trying to find every conceivable way to make them into dinner/lunch/breakfast/snack/etc!  I had planted two Roma plants, and two Big Boy plants, hoping that the cross-pollination ability would make them flourish even though they were planted in first-year soil.  Holy cow, it worked too well! Smile

Great weekend of shows the dogs and I had!  In Altered class, Eli won Best Male every time, Honor and Nikki both had two Best Females and BoBs each!  And by default, they both had two Altered BIMBS, but I'll confess they won that because they were the only altered BoBs there! Lol.  But I got to help my breeder show one of her GrCH dogs and her Miniature Puppy on Sunday, and that was a TON of fun!

I'm so excited, because this is the first year in a long time that both DH and I have the day off on my birthday!  He says he has "plans", and I can't wait to find out what they include!  I think the dogs have caught the scent that something fun is in the air, as I woke up this morning with Honor planted firmly on my chest, grinning at me like "Happy Birthday Mom!".

And thanks for the happy birthday wishes you two!

Tina, I really, REALLY hope that 2nd Chance Dobes will take her!

    ETA:  Happy Birthday, Lisa!

Happy Birthday, Lisa!!!!    Have a great day!  Tomato pie is delish. I make up marinara sauce and freeze when I have an abundance of 'maters.

I've been kind of busy this morning but I think I have most of the pressing stuff done.  Coworker is back and I'm happy because that means Ruger, the Weim, is back too.  I missed him the last few days. :)

    Amanda, hoping Brutus is OK.

We rearranged our bedroom furniture yesterday.  The bed stayed in the same spot but we shuffled dressers and dog crates around and it's so much roomier.  Twister was a little puzzled when bedtime came.  He stood in front of my dresser looking at me like "what, I sleep in a drawer now?".

LOL - dogs are such creatures of habit. Then again, so are some humans.

Happy birthday Lisa. I hope your hubby has something really special planned for you.

We had a bit of rain thru the night but the sun is out now and it's beautiful and cool. I didn't even complain too much that I'd wasted my time....um, DH wasted his time washing my car on Saturday.

Today is my first day back full-time and I'm hoping it goes by fast. It was so nice having the afternoons to get stuff done. I'm sure I'll get back in the swing soon. I'm going to the gym at lunch too, so that'll help. I really need to get back into doing some weight training. I feel really flabby and wimpy. I've still not gained the weight back and that's been surprising. I'm eating like I used to. I'll be getting my thyroid checked next month, so we'll see what that shows. I'm not really complaining. It's the first time in my life that I feel like I can eat anything I want and not worry.
