Oye, I just read Amanda's recount of yesterday's events.  Brutus had more influence than the security guard, it seems.  Poor dog, but I'm glad to hear he's not shaken by the whole ordeal.  He makes me want a good Boxer. Dog

As soon as I got up, my sister informs me that Gracie peed in the backhall (hours ago, sister has been up since 5am) and that I need to go clean it up.  I clean up her own dogs' messes.. in fact, I clean up all the messes around here, so this is nothing new.  So, I go back there and it's not pee - it's water yakked up - the kind of thing HER dog does, not G.  *sigh*  She doesn't believe me that it's not pee... Umm, I'm an expert on dog pee and poop, this is water yak.  And, as a matter of fact, the dang dog did it again.

Ron, good luck on the job!!!!  You deserve it!

My boss just called to ask me what I thought about the young man who's filled in while I was out. I'd already said he's been amazing but reiterated that again. My boss thinks so too but was looking for me to confirm it. We both agreed we'd love to keep him and so my boss asked how we could make room for him. Well, I knew where he was going with that and feel torn about even discussing it. We have an IT person who the boss has been very frustrated with but she's become a good friend of mine. I don't want to see her let go but quite honestly, the new guy is far more innovative and enthusiastic. What a crummy thing to have to contemplate :(

Made Andouille Sausage for the first time… oh is it good! Last year I bought some on-line, frozen, very expensive, and not all that great. Surprising it was harder to find some of the ingredients that to make the sausage… I can see a sausage stuffer is in my future. I like to cook a lot and Cajun is a favorite, have red beans & rice at least once a month. Ate at a place called Chef Wayne’s Big Mamou… western mass of all places… to say the food was fantastic is an understatement. The tough part is trying to recreate it.

I've been here less than an hour an already had to field a customer complaint about what TV station was on in our store and why we couldn't change the channel.  Complaint department is out of the office today.  My logic, it's fast food, dude.  You don't have time to watch TV, just eat and go for doG's sake!

Dang, the things some people complain about.  Fast food ... how about you get it in a to-go bag, haul it home and park your butt in front of your own TV and watch whatever you want while you eat? I'm seriously hoping the triple digit forecast for today is wrong.  Now that it's almost fall, it's not the time for giving us the summer we really didn't have. Indifferent

Good thing he's the boss and you don't have to make those decisions, right Cathy?  Is he even right for the IT position - and would he even want it?  Maybe he has other plans for himself.

it's Friday already?  How the heck did that happen?

Holy heck.  I just went back to read what happened to Amanda in yesterdays chat.  Good gawd!  Im so glad that everyone (except your "friend";) is pretty much ok.  Quick healing vibes coming from here.

Yes, I'm glad I don't have to make these kinds of decisions. I'm not sure the guy would want the job but I absolutely believe that he'd be awesome at it.

Wow, Amanda, thank doG that Brutus was with you yesterday.  I'm so amazed & shaken after reading about what happened.  I am a firm believer in things entering your life for a reason.  I know that B came into your life to save you.  I know you're capable of taking care of yourself but it sure is nice to have a furry guardian by your side.  I have this smile on my face picturing his expression when he looked at your hand.  "I was sumptin, huh ma?  Sorry about your paw but he was gonna hurt you!"  Give him some rubbies from me.

So many job getting vibes coming your way, Ron.  You so deserve the job & are more than qualified for it.

Jackie, it's all about who you know, my friend.  Cool I'm glad the rain got there for ya.  Cathy, I'lll try to send some rain along with cooler temps out your way.

We're having a Nor'easter right now.  It's cold & damp.  Grady hates the rain.  Meanwhile the Paps will go out to potty no matter what.  It was raining so hard this am that he was NOT going out.  No way, no how!  What do I find in the kitchen?  A HUGE puddle.  It wasn't water gak either.  I'm still in disbelief that he did it.  He still got to go get rubbie rubs @ the groomer.  He looks so handsome & fluffy.

Annie, it's so funny that your big dog won't brave the elements and the little pups will.  Not funny that he left a puddle on the floor.  You know he felt bad but he figured it wasn't worth dying for to go outside. lol

I did it.  I finished the two projects that had to be done by Tuesday.  I feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders.  My coworker is out sick, probably the flu and though I complain that he never does anything, it turns out he does.  I noticed it when he was missing. lol  I hate to admit that but feel it's only fair.

Amanda, I JUST read what happened to you.  I'm so sorry that you had to suffer through that, I can't even imagine the terror.  And GOOD BOY BRUTUS.  Please give him scritches and a steak from me!  What a hero he is.  Despite your injuries, I'm so glad your safe.  I was literally gasping in horror while reading your post from yesterday, what an ordeal.  SO glad to hear that you're ok!

DH, the dogs, and I are going to Wisconsin for UKC conformation, altered class.  Hopefully the dogs will do well!  I'm looking forward to hearing about everyone's weekend when I come back!

Hanging out at home, waiting to go out tonight... LOL.  The friends say come at 7pm but I know they really mean 8 or after.  Everytime I show up "on time" she's either just getting in to or out of the shower Smile

Trying to figure out what's up with Sammy.... three of his past six meals, he's barfed up immediately after eating, and once mid-meal and then went back to finish.  But then I wait an hour or so, and feed him half, and then wait, and feed him half again, and he's fine.  And he always does it RIGHT when he's made it on to the carpet Sad  He doesn't seem bothered by it in the least, everything is normal, we're halfway through a 40lb bag so nothing's changed.  It's not even in there long enough to cause issues! Goes in, comes out immediately. Sigh.  Crazy pupper.

But, it certainly got me to shampoo the carpets downstairs, which has been on my list for 3 weeks now.  Nothing like a little motivation!

Amanda, glad to hear that Brutus and DS are doing well; how are your injuries?  I'm so glad that at least the guy is taken care of.

Looking forward to a quiet weekend with lots of relaxing! Big Smile

Amanda, I hope you and Brutus and the family are holding up okay... I'm glad that at least the medical news about your son was a little respite from the bad news! I hope Brutus recovers quickly, and I hope that jerkwad creeper guy of yours gets what's coming to him...

Annie, I can't believe that Grady doesn't like the rain!  I thought that only my dogs did the "I refuse to go out because I might melt" song & dance.  I also wanted to thank you for the rain.  We got almost 6 inches today!  The roads are a bit of a mess, but I'm not complaining!

I agree that Brutus did enter our lives for a reason.  Up until yesterday, I thought that it was because I am, subconsciously, drawn to dogs who drool, snort, snore, fart, are silly, & quite stubborn.  I suppose that I was wrong.

I am dragging this evening.  I didn't sleep well last night, & I was on the run much of the day today.  My doctor was in shock that my arm/hand looked the way that it does.  He went as far as to say that he would have had Brutus euthanized because he bit.  For the most part, I held my tongue.  I told him that I was grateful for how Brutus handled himself, & that if I had been thinking when I was trying to remove him that I wouldn't have been bit.  It just rubbed me the wrong way, so I am in the market for a new doctor.

The DA is supposed to have a list of charges by Monday.  Thier office is hopeful that my guy will be out of the hospital by them.  They are going to request that bail be denied.

Nicole, I am bruised, very swollen, & all of the bite wounds hurt.  A lot.  All in all, I am ok, & this morning, I wasn't scared for my family's safety, which is a very nice feeling to have.

Can you soak your arm in warm epsom salt water? I don't know if it will help dog bites, but I know it helps with swelling. Since you have bites on the broken arm, did they put a cast on or instructions that would prevent you from soaking it?

Lots of good thoughts coming your way. Sorry bout the crappy attitude from your doc - you didn't need that. Super Angry And lots of no bail thoughts aimed at the judge!

    • Gold Top Dog

I don't have a cast right now, & I don't have instructions not to soak it.  I'm on antibiotics, & was told to keep them clean.  I may have to pick up epsom salt tomorrow.
