Dawn, turkey bacon is kinda bland if it isn't seasoned.  If it's seasoned well, it's quite good. 

Plans fell through tonight because of an incident after work, so baby brother & I are leaving in the morning instead.  I talked to grandma & her nurse & she doesn't have pneumonia as first reported, so I'm feeling much better.  We are "camping" in the den tonight.  The kids have a tent set up, & it appear that everyone except Bevo, Brutus, & I are sleeping there.  I suppose that the boys & I will crash on the couch tonight.

Yeah they warned us about the bruising and bleeding and he will be on plavix for at least a month if not a year.

Plavix is freakin expensive.

I told him the smoking is over, we are slowing phasing out this weekend, he is having a better time with it than I am. But there are none left in the house and I will not be buying anymore.

As for food, I will be changing our diet, and there is no reason on this green earth why any kind of food should taste bad, seasoning and proper cooking can make anything taste better and palatable. Unless you cook in a hospital, then all food must taste bland and icky.

I suspect I will jump and panic a little every time he says ow or sighs. I did leave him alone most of yesterday and for a while today. I wanted him to go with me and then decided I would have to leave him alone and not coddle him. I did buy him some "hint of salt" ritz crackers today as a teaser, we were never much for heavy salting so that will not be an issue.

One of the forums I follow had the site owner featured on Inside edition tonight. She was explaining how she bought $260 some odd dollars on groceries but only paid 1 cent after coupons and specials. I feel good because we could easily go 6 weeks without having to buy anything but basics. The freezer and the pantry are full, I just need to work with what I have to make the meals healthier. I can do this!

Dawn, I found that the focus being on the patient, that I, the food prep person, got left out of the loop a lot.  I ended up doing a ton of research online, but also talking to our regular doctor as well for enough information to feed the man properly.

If you need help, info, or just are feeling overwhelmed, please don't hesitate to reach out.  I'm sure we aren't the only two who have had to slog through this!

I am not to oncerned about diet, since our diet was not out of whack to begin with and I thank you for the support, I just might take you up on that.

Ew! I was browsing Craigslist and came across this one:

"I am a college freshman selling my used panties online.If you like, I would love to send you a pair!!!!$25.00 a pair-please leave your mailing address/or preferable info!!!!!-Your Pretty Panties"

It was listed under creative services. Mmmkay. 

Ick!  I went on craigslist looking for sculpture/art work for the wall after Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn and others came up short.  I found one titled "Heavy-gauge aluminum sculpture - $600".... so when I clicked on it and saw, uhm, unmentionable "parts" with a comment beyond the dimensions that said "I mounted on a wall and it worked great." I almost choked.  People are bizarre.

We ended up walking to and from the game - it's only a mile, and considering the extra police presence, it was no different than any other night.  I get more unsolicited attention in the grocery store parking lot - like the woman tonight, asking us to buy her $30 worth of food stamps for $15.  Did I mention there's a liquor store in the same shopping plaza?
