Ben went in for X-rays yesterday and had a visit with his neuorsurgeon, she okayed him to stop wearing the brace so he is very excited about that. She'll see him in another 6 weeks for more x-rays and if those look good then he can most likely go back to work! The hardware is holding up well. He just can't do anything that would send a jolt up his spine (ie. 4-wheeling, bike riding, lawn mowing). He is okay with that. She said that most likely he will not need physical therapy. That was so awesome to hear! I'm so proud of him, he is healing so well and no longer taking any meds. Things are looking good in his world!

This is great to see!  So happy he is healing well, what a scary experience that was for all of you.

I can't wait to go home.  Tired and my allergies have been giving me the runny nose, coughing and watery eyes for the last few days.  DH called and said he had fun golfing, he did well.  When he does badly he's in a foul mood.  I don't like golf for that reason. lol  He doesn't play very often, it's pretty expensive.

Also happy to read about Ben's progress, Lily's_Mum.

Jackie, I hope you get some relief from your allergies.  You aren't brown-nosing, I mean working, on Monday are you?

Thank you, Tina.  I just spit grape juice all over my desk!

Glad to hear that Ben is improving!

Amanda, you must have missed the new rule the other day - no drinking anything while reading Mindless Chat!  I think it should be added to the TOS to prevent unwanted fluids exiting the nasal cavity of our fellow members.

Oh, I thought I'd pretend I was Deb for a minute. Stick out tongue  Normally I am so...innocent.

Everyone got new collars today. Well ok Cheyanne and Joker got handmedowns. I put Lillie's pink collar on Cheyanne so people would quit calling her a boy. She says pink is not her color and she doesnt care if people think she's a boy on the other hand. Joker got Fynn's orange collar and it looks nice on him. Lillie got a bright purple collar and Fynn a bright blue collar. They were 50% off at the petstore today so I couldnt pass them up. I would have gotten Cheyanne and Joker new collars but they only had purple and blue left. Cheyanne is a red collar girl and Joker a green.Stick out tongue

Brown-nosing!!  If I felt better I could think of something witty but will have to let this one go.  For now.......

Amanda, quit laughing at her childish humor, it just encourages her.  As if she needed any!

Tina, have a good weekend and give Agnes lots of cuddles from me.  We miss you on the weekend and that's no joke. :)

In case anyone is interested and missed it, I started the Secret Santa sign up over in General Chat.  Shoot, OUR Walmart already has Christmas stuff out, as does the Walgreen.  Yeah, I feel like buying Christmas stuff when it's 90 plus degrees........

    • Gold Top Dog

Get used to it, Glenda...it might be 90 at Christmas...or it might be 10...lol!  Makes it frustratingly fun!

    I rarely carry cash either

Me neither. Big Smile It's *big time* for me to have a whole $5 in my wallet.  I like using the debit card because I spend just what I need to and I never run it for *cash over.*  I think I want one of those pumpkin thingys at Starbucks.  I feel like I can handle getting one without wanting to go back the next day for another. Wink I assume they have them both hot and cold? DS #1 is a Starbucks addict.  Maybe I'll treat him one day next week.

Goodness!!  Just learned there were 14 attacks (robbery/beating) on pedestrians in my area in the last month.  There's a question if they're race-related, but the police won't call it that yet.  The news showed the attack locations on a map... well, we're smack in the middle of it.  Grreaaaat... guess maybe we WON'T walk to the Rockies game tonight.

Ooooh - the news did bring good, news, though - Taste of Colorado is this weekend!

My sister is buying a new vehicle right now.  Settled on the Pathfinder, although she liked the 4Runner better.  Let's see how well old man Patrick can get into the back - because she's buying this thing in part so she can take the dogs for rides. :D

Ya'll think you know how to tick people but ya'll ain't got nuthin' on me. The "town hall screamers" make me proud. Until Holy Father, I mean Obama, states otherwise, we still have freedom of speech, for or against something, and the town hall meetings are our democracy in progress. I realize that some of you are admitted socialists, wherein the individual vote does not count. But as long as we remain a democracy and republic, we still have the right air our grievances. Never fear, the second American Revolution is underway. And it is for the same reason as the first one. Taxation without representation. CO2 anthrpprogenic global warming is a hoax and you only need 8th grade science to see that. And the Obama plan is quite similar to Canada and England, where the English press keeps pointing out the rationing, death panels, I mean, commission on end-of-life panels, where they withdraw food and liquids from people deemed by some beauracrat to be "beyond hope."

HR 3200 says that if you do not enroll in the "public option," you will be assessed a penalty of 2.5 percent of your earnings for each year that you are not enrolled in it.

That's called robbery and depriving a patient of food and water is called murder.

Now, see, that's the way to tick people off.

I ended up having to work today, anyway. Just as well, millions are depending on me. But this morning, before I was called into work, I was able to get Shadow to the vet and get his vaccs updated. And we did it without a muzzle or logger's hitch. Now, that's a good boy.

I still refuse to whine, but I might by the end of the weekend@

Amanda, you take care of yourself, and I was sorry to hear your gran is sick.

Paige, just take due care please.

I think I past exhausted last night. The boys gave me today off so that I could have a 4 day weekend. The hubby is doing fine, has some real colorful bruises in some real funny places, but I will take that easily.

I finally found the free candles I was hunting for on Sunday when this all started, seemed like fate. I got home and was still so tired I took a nap, managed to convince the hubs to laydown with me. So we spent the afternoon sleeping.

I was informed that if I make turkey bacon, he will divorce me. The hospital version was nasty I guess.

I wanted to say thank you all again for the well wishes, they got me through the week.

Dawn, it's quite likely that your DH will be on Plavix for some time.  An itty bitty bump that would normally not cause bruising very likely WILL now.  My DH had gawd awful bruising on his FEET....just from using them.  The doc (who wasn't on call that Sunday) said that it's perfectly normal because of the thinner blood from Plavix.

So, your DH is giving up bacon huh?  LOL!
