Mindless Tuesday

Ron, I don't know if it will help, but I have contacts with dobe & boxer rescue here & in Houston.  I'm off tomorrow, so I'll have time to make some phone calls to see if they know of anyone who might be able to take Buck.

Ron, please vent here!!  We all understand!  I've been on the rescue end where mixed breeds are turned because the dogs all sit in a shelter, waiting for an adoption.  People come to breed rescue looking for a particular breed, therefore the mixed dogs get passed over and actually have a better chance of adoption in an all-breed shelter.... well, at least the ones that are not euthing dogs for space issues.  I would imagine getting Buck out of Texas might increase his chances for a new home.  In New England, they are pulling dogs from shelters in the south, so hooking him up with a transport might be doable.

I appreciate the good wishes and help. And if nothing can be done, I understand that, too. In my old age, I've learn to vent and be done with it. Plus, the disposable comment in one email turned out to be just a tagline or sig for the email format, not a specific comment directed at me or our friend.

And this, folks is why, though I applaud and understand the desires of many people to buy direct from a good breeder (which I think will help the cause, in general) I will get my dogs from re-homing (such as Shadow's case) or from a shelter or rescue. And I will support shelters and rescues and champion their cause, even if some of them can't help me.
