Got a brief interview from an IT recruiting firm today, full interview tomorrow.  Work on developing plan to get certs.  Fun.  I knew I was lacking the skills resume for most IT work, so if I get a cert thru them, great.  We shall see.

Good luck!!! Let us know how it goes.

Paige - how bad was this house you're renting? It seems like there's been a ton of work going on since you moved in.

    Good luck tomorrow, Paige.

I guess I have nothing to say.  I must be sick. lol

Tis ok Jackie, I will use up some of your space.

The hubby is doing very well. He tossed his breakfast of broth, but kept down his second breakfast, lunch and was eating dinner when I went this evening.

He was complaining about the flavor...oh wait...there was no flavor. I tried it, there really wasn't. It was the chef special, he said the chef needed to be shot.

He asked me about his burgers...the ones that I was going to make for dinner last night, the ones he wanted to know if I would cook up and put in the fridge so he could eat them tomorrow (today now).

I informed him that Kord had thought they were delicious.

His stomach growled...hehe and so did he.

When I called at 2 the nurse had a request. He wanted books. She was tickeld about that and very nice.

He remembers very little. Just me taking him and the ride to the second hospital. He only remembered me saying good night. Nothing else, not the operation, or what they did. He asked about the little iron burn on his chest, I explained what they did. He also said that he told us all he was dizzy when we went in, he never did.

He called family and friends, before I took the cell phone away.

The nurses kicked me out at 630. They have strict hours. They expect to move him later tonight to another room. And they were very firm that he was doing fantastic considering.

Now, for me and the dog. I am holding up well. The bosses are supportive. I can have the hours off that I need. Kord was a fantastic spastic boy today for he did a new thing.

He stayed home alone for 8 hours......................crate free. This is a huge thing for him. And for me. I had to trust that he could do this, and I also excepted deep down inside that if I came home and he had chewed a door or the kitchen table or destuffed the mattress I would praise him to high heaven. I came in the front door and he went balistic, until I spoke. Then he was all over me. And everything was just fine. My neighbor is out of the pokey and while I took a shower, changed clothes and grabbed stuff to take to the hospital he played with Kord to run off steam.

I am exhausted and plan to do nothing more then rest this evening. And before I move along I would like to thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. I really do appreciate them.

Paige - how bad was this house you're renting? It seems like there's been a ton of work going on since you moved in.

You would think it was falling down around us, but it's not, yet.  I think the owner gave a move-in date for us bogus - not truly done with their rehab project.  For all the headaches, my sister keeps saying "it's only a rental".  The owners are trying to get it ready for an appraisal Weds so they can refinance it.  The list of things they've accomplished over the last 5-6 weeks:

    • re-routed the gutters away from the house because it was flooding in the basement
    • regraded the side yard to redirect water away from the house
    • replaced a pair of doors
    • replaced a MIA showerhead (took them 4 offers and 3 weeks before that sucker showed up)
    • installed a new window & a lock on another one
    • resealed/recaulked one half of the foundation
    • built a fence around the side yard
    • addressed the broken water pipe to the washer

In the last week, the landscapers have done the following:

    • replaced the sprinkler system on the side yard
    • built and planted a berm in front and laid sod around it, and in the side yard
    • dropped landscaping granite gravel/dust for parking next to our garage (since our neighbors kept blocking the garage door)
    • put two giants pots with flowers in the front planter today

Aside from all the landscaping stuff, cumulative hours of work = about 8 hours.  Unfortunately, they drag it out in random drops by the house to admire their own work and hypothesize about new ways to address old problems, without actually addressing them. The many ways they suggested mitigating the water in the basement were laughable.

It's just silly, and tough because we have to contain the dogs when they show up.  We being ME.  Meanwhile, the landlord gave my sister crap because her little dog was shoving a $30 window blind around so he could look out the front when I wasn't home.

SOOO, tomorrow, I have to hide the dogs away while I'm gone for the interview, and the next day, I have to load them up for the appraisal.  Good thing I'm here, I guess, or else my sister would have to hire someone. Thanks for the wishes about the interview. :D

Paige - on top of the well wishes for the interview, I hope that the ongoing work finishes up soon. It would irritate the heck out of me if it was my own home, but if I was renting, I'd be way tired of it. I hope the outcome will benefit you guys somehow.

Truley - I must've missed something significant. What kind of surgery did your husband have to have?

I know what a milestone THAT can be and I'm so glad Kord did well today.  I'm so glad your hubby is feeling ok and complaining, he'll be home in no time!  lol  You sure deserve a rest this evening, here, have some chocolate.....**passes Dawn her favorite chocolate treat"  OK, here's some for the rest of you, I know you'll all be whining if you don't get any. LOL  **chocolate for everyone and wine for those who need more than chocolate"

Jackie - you must be psychic cause that's exactly what I was thinking. Thank you!!!

Truley - I found the thread about your husband. Last I'd read yesterday, it sounded like a stomach bug or the flu. I'm glad you were able to get hime seen and taken care of. I hope his recovery goes well. You'll be able to judge his progress by how much he complains about the food. Wink

Callie has gas. Even Casey is horribly offended by it - and has relocated from his usual spot at the end of my bed, to next to me...I don't know how you guys live with gassy dogs! Ick!

I spent my whole day off... at work. ugh.

    Good luck tomorrow Paige!

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow.  Truley, I missed it too but like Cathy I had to go back and find it.  I'm so glad everything went well and that he seems to be on the mend.  I know what a scary thing those rides to the ER can be.

Paige, we're sending good vibes for a successful interview.

Dawn, I'm so glad that your DH is doing well.  I know that things are hectic & stressful, but please do remember to take care of yourself.

    GOOD BOY, KORD!!!!

Erica, Bevo's gas can make paint peel off the walls.  There is nothing worse than dober-gas.  Fingers crossed that Callie stops bombing you soon.

Cathy, congrats on being "normal" again!

I spent 13.5 hours at the office today.  I barely got to see the kids before it was time for bed.  It sucked. :(  I've decided that I am leaving early tomorrow so that I can pick them up from school, & spend some time with them.

    • Gold Top Dog

    ME TOO.

I have her some yogurt... seems to be doing the trick for now...
