Amanda:  you conduct quite a lot of business naked.

Amanda:  Do you find that making deals naked helps your "bottom" line ???  I crack myself up.Big Smile

Oh that was low, Tina.  I expect that kind of thing from Deb or Jackie, but not you! ;)

I didn't mean it was a bad thing, only that it explained a lot. Angel

I'm all for working with what I have for as long as possible.  Let's just say that, between Victoria's Secret and my 34DDs, when I do my parttime gig at the track, I make a lot of tips.

LMAO, you ladies crack me up!  I needed a good laugh.

Amanda, glad to hear that your assistant made it back in one piece.  I bet she feels she earned every penny of her salary today, LOL.  And glad that your video conference equipment can't see through your desk.  You don't happen to have a corner office with a wall of windows or anything, now do you? Smile

I  just got an email that a company is shipping me a bunch of stuff, that I didn't know about, and I'm not sure if I'm just the name on the shipment and get to pass it off to someone else, or if it means I will be doing this project. Once I find out, it will determine a lot about my day!

Cathy, I hope your doctor's appointment goes well today.  I know you have enjoyed the break from work and almost dread going back.  If it makes you feel any better, I didn't win the Mega Millions, so I'll be keeping my day job, too.

Thanks - I had a great check-up. Dr. looked at the incision and said I heal beautifully. I was thinking that myself, but it was nice to hear it from him. He did a quick exam and said I was great and all restrictions were lifted. Yay!!!...except it does mean back to work tomorrow. Only having to work 1/2 days for two weeks will help and it'll be short weeks, so I'll pipe down with the whining. I came home and did a 30 min. workout and it was no different than pre-surgery, so that was a relief.

Tina - I hope your leg feels better soon.

Temps are down today. Yesterday a really nasty fire sprung up about 20-25 miles from here. In no time, it destroyed 60 homes and commercial buildings. It was really sad and scary to watch the news coverage. Also sad to hear one person say that he'd been gone and when he got home, his cat came running out from the rubble but he wasn't sure what had happened to his five dogs that had been inside the home  Crying

    Ew!

Blah day here. I've got some freelance work to do but I'm waiting on some files from the client. I'm sure they'll come 5 minutes before Willa wakes up from her nap. Sad

I was thinking about that fire when I turned the news on this a.m. and saw that the one in Los Angeles had doubled in size overnight without being wind driven.  I guess the winds are only about 3 mph now and it sounds like they're really worried that the Santa Ana winds are going to kick up all of a sudden before they get it contained. Scary, when you consider that fire season usually runs through the end of October and sometimes well into November.

I don't know how you ladies can live with the threat of wildfires so calmly.  I have an almost abnormal fear of fire.  Sad to think about what might have happened to your neighbor's dogs, Cathy.

Probably because neither one of us lives in or near the hills or forests that usually burn first.  If you notice on the news, the people in Southern CA most likely to lose their homes are living in the hills, at the bottom of them or in a community very close to them. Not that we're immune from ever having anything catch fire, but the most we're likely to experience from these wildfires are smoke and/or small wood debris depending on which way the wind is blowing.  It just amazes me that people are so willing to rebuild in these areas again and again.  It would scare the bejeebers out of me.

I've never understood it either. After fire season is over, they can start worrying about the heavy rain and mudslides. No thanks!!

Joyce - how are things going with the sale of your home? Have you had much traffic coming thru to look at it?

A lot of traffic and everybody so far has liked it a lot, but nobody thinks it's possible to live without a garage. Big Smile Thing is, I've managed without one for 20 years.  All you have to do is quit collecting useless crap and you won't need all that storage.  Of  the 24 or so houses on my block, only two people can actually put their  car in their garage because it's so stuffed to the rafters with *useless crap.* If worse comes to worse I suppose I could put it in the hands of a good property management company and rent it, but I'm not sure I want to deal with capital gains tax.  I have more than enough *tax* trouble now.

DH had a rental when I met him and was able to write off an awful lot of stuff, so the taxes weren't too bad. It's an option to consider if you get tired of waiting.

I am in Florida, and I cannot wait to go home. I am so allergic to Florida, at least, something about Florida. I think I have sneezed more in the past 24 hours than I typically do all year. I can't wait to get on the plane home, I and only get here yesterday.

Oye, I have a headache.  The landlord was supposed to come in and install a new fan.  Instead, he put new planters out front and looked around in the backyard.  I almost had a cow when I realized he was there - or, really, when Gracie realized he was there.

Amanda, once I got sent to the boss' house to get a cell phone charger from his nightstand.  I learned in that one trip that my 28yr old boss' loser buddies would hang out at his multi-million dollar house, blasting nasty rap music (as in offensive lyrics) through the whole house's stereo sytem, and that he has a bearskin rug on his bedroom floor, along with what brand of condoms and ant-acids he keeps in his bedside table.  Luckily, his dogs were no issue - a Frenchie & a Pom.

Got a brief interview from an IT recruiting firm today, full interview tomorrow.  Work on developing plan to get certs.  Fun.  I knew I was lacking the skills resume for most IT work, so if I get a cert thru them, great.  We shall see.

Just found out my camera images are too small for print in the rescue calendar.  What a big bummer.  If I'd taken regular photos and mailed them in, they'd be fine, but my digital images are "tiny".  Who knew.  Sadface.
