Mindless Bleh day

    Mindless Bleh day

Twisted my leg walking dogs yesterday.  They were all pretty decent until the 70lb pit that kept trying to drag me off, which was when I stepped in a hole, which finished my volunteer time.

Busy weekend catching up on housework, laundry, carpet cleaning, making food to supplement Agnes' canned dog food, hand-washed some brassieres (I find it tedious), mowing.  I didn't have time to make liver treats, though.  Must do that tonight.  I did find a nice beef heart, fresh from a steer at the local county fair.  That's for the dog, not me!

Agnes is through with the meds for the whipworms.  She's doing okay, surprisingly a little perky.  Eating good, just drinking a lot of water, which is causing excess urination.  She's started coughing though, likely from the heartworm, so I talked to the shelter yesterday about signing her over to me so I can proceed.  As bad a shape as she is in, she's still improving.  Last night she was sitting next to me on the floor watching TV and I did feel a lump on her lower ribcage.  Ugh.

    Still no computer at home.

Cathy, I hope your doctor's appointment goes well today.  I know you have enjoyed the break from work and almost dread going back.  If it makes you feel any better, I didn't win the Mega Millions, so I'll be keeping my day job, too.

Glad to hear that Agnes is improving!

Today is definitely a "bleh" day.  I had to come in early for a video conference, & I just can't seem to wake up.  I think that I need more coffee.

Aww, it makes me so happy to read Tina's posts about Agnes improving.  Love is such a powerful healer. Angel

Bleh day is right!  It's overcast outside, and I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning.

Today is also the calm before the storm.  It's the last day of the month, so tomorrow I get to look forward to the flurry of closing out August (bookkeeping stuff).

I think I've had it with my backyard.  The grass just will not take in certain areas, which, incidentally, had prolific grass prior to the fill dirt and grading we had done this spring. Confused It's a gradual downhill slope from the top of the yard to the back.  Well, the seed the lawn service put down last Tuesday got completely washed downhill by all the rain we got Thursday and Friday.  So I imagine we'll have lots of thick, pretty grass in the back half of the yard, while the front half will remain a mudpit.  My floors are trashed from the dogs tracking in the mud.  I've given up on seed.  We're gonna have to scrape together the money to get sod put down and be done with it.  Luckily a friend of mine works for a landscaping company and can get us a fairly decent price on fescue sod.  It's still gonna be expensive, though (I'm thinking we'll need at least 2 pallets worth, yikes!).  But it'll be worth it in the end, I hope!

I just found out that I think I got someone fired from a supplier.  I feel awful.  I am sure I was not the only one that complained about him, but still.  He was in charge of one of my projects and really let me down in terms of delivering - I got totally chewed out about it.  I basically told the owner (when he called to ask me how things went) that unfortunately probably won't be using them anymore...this was a couple of weeks ago.  I got an email a few minutes ago that he was let go.

With this economy I hate to hear about anyone losing their job.  I just feel so bad.  It really was his fault, and he admitted it, but man they didn't have to fire him!

Sitting here at work, worried about Charlie's leg.  I wish he could talk and tell me what's wrong.

I just spilled coffee all over my cream colored skirt.  My assistant looked at me like I was nuts when I gave her the keys to my house & directions on where to find a similar skirt in my closet.  I did warn her to start talking to Bev, Chyna & Brutus before she unlocked the door so that they didn't stop her from entering.  I hope that she hurries...

lol!! I'm sure she'll do a good job!

I am a pro at breaking into my boss' house now lol.  The funniest was when I broke in, and scared the crap out of her cleaning lady lol,  I didn't know she was in there!  But funny too, that my boss hides the cheques i needed in her underwear drawer lol

Tina, sorry you twisted and hurt your leg.  Hope it's better soon.  I'm glad Agnes seems to be doing better.  I hope the shelter will give you ownership.

Heather, I feel your pain with the dirt, mud issues.  We are waiting until the weather cools a little and then laying sod.  Been there, done that with seeding and never had much success.

I am having a problem with my new lenses for my glasses.  My patience is reaching it's limit but will try one more time to get it resolved before I get seriously upset.

Yeah, that's pretty much what we're saying at this point, "Been there, done that, no luck."  LOL.  Our landscaping friend (who, btw, is the same guy from last weekend's mishap with the kiddie pool, lol), said we should do it around the end of September, so it gives us some time to scrape together the cash.

This week is going to drag out, I just know it.  I am looking forward to an awesome weekend, which always makes the weekdays seem to creep along.  I'm heading up to NC on Friday, going to the UNC Pro Alumni basketball game.  I was looking through my t-shirts yesterday and realized I don't have a single UNC t-shirt I want to wear to the game!!  I'm not used to having to choose short sleeves for a basketball game, lol.  All the ones I have are huge (men's larges), so would look kinda stoopid in public.  Saturday I'm driving down to BFE eastern NC (Bladen County) to visit some friends I haven't seen in a long time.  It's gonna be a kind of reunion of the "barn chicks," two friends I mostly keep in touch with via email and a monthly phone call, but the three of us grew up riding horses together.  The best part is we get to see our old riding instructor, so it's gonna be awesome, and I can't wait!!  Then I might head to either Wrightsville Beach or Topsail Beach on Sunday.  I haven't been to the beach all summer!!

Heather, sounds like it'll be a fun weekend!

Amanda, did your assistant make it back with your other skirt yet?  Were all her limbs still intact?  LOL

    Hi Jackie!

    • Gold Top Dog

She made it back, intact, & I have clothes again!  I sat through another video conference without a skirt on.  Even though the desk had me covered, it's a strange feeling knowing that you're talking to someone & you've got nothing on you bottom half.  Surprise

Tee hee!  It's like those jokes about news anchors sitting there in their underwear because you can't see below the waist, lol.

Okay, now I have to ask, was this a "commando" day Amanda?

It's the best way to do business!
