Bevo's lady has some neat stuff. I love the crate beds!

Megan, I just got back from Wally World & found some colorful boys tighty not so whities. The challenge was trying to figure out whether 2T was the right size for a 10.8# Pap.   I really wanted to get her the Scooby Doo grundies but they didn't come small enough.  Cool

Anne - how were they?    And were they Hanes or ???  (I've found it makes a big difference) -- for somebody with no kids I've spent more time in the kids dept at Wally World looking at T-shirt and underwear than anybuiddy.

~LOL~  OMG!  Poor Maghee is going to call the ACOs on me.  She just tried to lick, um, herself & came upon a blockage.  I could see her say "awwwww, h*ll, I gotta lick SOMETHING"  & went to her paws.  I got her Fruit of the Looms.  they are a little bit big BUT trying to pull her very fluffy tail through slot A (pull tail A through slot A) was a bit dicey.  I'm trying so hard to not laugh at her.  Man, I love my girl.  She's so tolerant of me. ~L~

I just realized, I have a bed from Bevo's lady. I had no idea where to get it from (bought it from a pink princess tent, at a dog show, after Emma pulled it off the shelf, and declared it hers). THANKS, Amanda! Now, I'll be ordering some more.

    No problem, Jennie!

ETA:  Meg & Annie, we need pics of Tiki, & Maghee in their "sexy britches."

So you can get them in colors.  But you can go broke buying them at $15 to $25 a pop and then have to wash them to death.

Try Super Wally where I'm pretty sure you can get them by the 6-pack, or thrift stores.  If you can stock up at a thrift store, you can cut the padded part out of a couple of them and stitch them into one pair so you'll have a triple thickness.  At a thrift store they shouldn't be any more than a quarter a pop. The ones that are made for potty training should have a much thicker padded part than the regular undies.

Yep, this is one place where buying kids stuff is SO much cheaper.  When I said $15 to $25 I meant the bitches britches.  I don't think I've ever seen them in a thrift store LOL

Callie, I'm really glad you clarified that ... cuz I was thinking "Lawdy.  Where does this woman shop for men's underwear that she pays $15 to $25 a pop.?" Big Smile I get mine for about $5 a six-pack at Wally.

Yeah, we've very nearly lost the concept here that we're talking about a senior "incontinent" dog LOL --

But the funniest thing is -- Ms. Socks would have been HORRIFIED at ruffles and frills.  She was a jeans kinda gal anyway! LOL -- so the PetSmart denim britches were fine by her.  But I did get pretty creative with her shirts.

Megan -- given what you told me about the wheezing, etc. that she gets -- honestly?  I'd try putting a t-shirt on her.  Yeah, I know it's August in Flooor-da, but Socks used to need one ALL year round.  They like to lie on cool surfaces and that will exacerbate the congestion in the heart.   Socks wheezed less with a t-shirt on.  Lasix helps so much but it sucks.

It's my thread and we can go OT if we want! LOL :)

It's funny - the weezies are SO much better since they went up on the Lasix dose. She still is bad right after her bath, so I put a shirt on her then...helps keep her warm for awhile longer too.

I will get a pic of her panties tomorrow!

Nah -- I mean it sounded in some of the posts like they thought you were talking about her having an estrus cycle, rather than her being incontinent.

That's b/c it's not a lung "wheeze" but a heart cough/wheeze.  They sound VERY similar.  Now you will understand why, when folks talk abou their dog having kennel cough, sometimes I will interject something like "are you SURE it's a lung cough - could it be heart? Don't assume!"

This thread couldn't be more timely.  Agnes is having some incontinence issues, too.  She is excessively thirsty (still) so pees a lot of water.  Last week she did just fine Wed-Thurs, but the other days were iffy.  So this weekend I got her a diaper (denim was all the pet supply store had) and some poise-type pads.  Except during the night, she tried to pee with it on and ended up in a wet diaper because it went everywhere but the pad.  She's very skinny, so I think the diaper slid down.

Plan B, puppy pads in the area she's hanging out, so then she decided to make sure she let me know she had to go.  But she woke up around 2:00a to tell me and had already had a large accident on her bed (but I put plastic under her blankie).  She tried, though.  She sleeps so hard, it was happening before she even woke up.  Going to ask the vet if she might have a UTI or bladder infection.  She doesn't really smell, it's a lot of water when she goe.

Meg, I don't think many boys would be happy to hear you call their underwear "panties".  I think in a boy's world, they are just underpants!

There IS a trick to getting the pad in the 'jeans' to do the most good.

Using absolutely the thickest pads you can get but the long skinny ones worked best for me.  Cut them in half (so each pad makes two) and then use nylon first aid tape (not the waterproof one - you WANT it to be absorbent) to seal the cut end.

But take the rounded end and fold it back on itself about 1/2 to 1" -- THEN stick that end way up almost covering the tail hole.  So when you put them on her, lift her tail so that seats way up under the tail.  That way it leaks less if she really floods it.  Typically the hole is SO big that they can completely miss the hole and it goes everywhere.

But dang, I used to cut and tape a whole box when I got them (including folding down the top edge) so we didn't have to fiddle with them when putting them on her.  I tried just about everything I think, in the 6 years we had Socks.  I *TRIED* "diapers" and man, they just did NOT work, and trying to figure out how to cut the tail hole was just plain a pain in MY buttinsky.  (the last time I made blisters on my own hand trying to cut thru it *grr*)

You may want to re-schedule her just a bit -- or encourage her to tell you during the night if she's gotta go out (or put something super absorbent under her as well.

The other thing, FOR US (oh man, this brings back memories! LOL) -- I had to keep a sign on the back door "TAKE OFF SOCK'S JEANS" and literally put it ON the doorknob because you get so used to seeing them on the dog that you don't even THINK about removing them before you let them out.  Then they come back looking at you like a 3 year old who waited too long at the playground except it was YOUR FAULT *grin*.

Watch her for a uti as well -- sometimes with an older girl they can start fast with less symptoms than you may have seen previously. (Ms. Kee has completely had to re-educate me on that one *sigh*)

Okey-doke, will try that if I use the denim panties.  I did also pick up some boys' tighty-whities yesterday, so will I need to cut the pads in the same manner?

It was kinda funny when I first put the diaper on.  She just stood there as if she wasn't sure she could move, then when she walked, it was even funnier because you could just tell she was trying to figure out this ginormous pad between her legs.  Kind of reminded me of when I was first introduced to feminine hygiene products.  My mom used to use Modess, complete with belt, and that's what I got to start out with.  So I really felt for poor Agnes (even though I was stifling a laugh the entire time).
