Busy today at work.  All our computer stuff was migrated to a new server and then the accounting program was updated.  Some of my settings how checks print changed, so instead of the signature coming out on them, I'm hand-stamping them all.  And the colums for account and invoice numbers are all wrong, so I've got to make notes on all the stubs so the a/r people don't get confused about what is being paid.  I've done this so long that I know more info on a payment is better - saves me legwork later on when stuff is misapplied and I'm called because the vendor thinks I didn't pay it, when in reality it's not me!

Dawn, sorry your garden took such a hit.

Amanda, hope your leg is better.

Barbara, glad your new position is working out so far!

One of my co-worker's lost his dad the other day.  The guy was out fishing and just DFOd.  Apparently had a massive heart attack, was only 59.  My co-worker was very close to his dad, and even though it is hard right now, he said "at least my dad died doing something he loved."

Must get back to work.  I'd love to leave on time today!

    Ta-ta for now!

LOL!  Let him get his own wine or he can just whine and you can offer him more cheese. :)  Good luck with your decision Lisa.

Is it time to GO HOME yet??

I think I am going to leave early, tho.  I have to do a bank deposit.  Sounds like a good excuse to leave.  No one has to know that my bank is actually open til 7pm, right?  Wink

I took off my scrub top just now, and I have some sort of weird rash. It didn't itch until I saw it and now it's bugging me, a LOT.

My son had 2 different interviews this week.  One of the jobs would have been right up his alley as far as skills and work history.  Too bad he went into the interview and bad-mouthed one of his previous employers.  Didn't work so well as he is still unemployed.  DOH

ugh.  I am so tired.  For some reason in the afternoon here i tend to just crash.  To the point that I fell asleep on my desk for about 20 minutes this afternoon!  gah

    I'm glad it's the weekend :)

Ugh - my friend had a reaction from my shampoo/conditioner when she came to visit.  We thought it was the sunscreen that my sister had left over from when she lived in Belgium.  But, nope, it was my conditioner that has some straightening aspect to it.  Now I'm curious what ingredients can cause these rash reactions.

Tina - your issues with server migration reminds me of my time at Liberty Mutual, doing system testing for a particular business/IT division.  Makes me want to get back into it.

Lisa - hope the second interview brings good news.

I have been watching History Channel in the background all morning - MAN, the re-enactments they can put together with computer images really makes the skills and stories of these war heroes sooo much more impressive!  Pearl Harbor earlier, now it's Dogfights with this really cool Brig General named Robin Olds who was a pilot in WWII and again in Vietnam, making real impacts.  Cool dude, I'm impressed.  I'm really thankful for these interviews and films, because these stories would be lost to people like me without them.

Meg - Keep an eye on that rash! you never know what you're dealing with...

What a LONG day... started at 6:30 (and I am NOT a morning person!). We were SO busy, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around what all happened today, but I think I'm going to give up for the night.

Our shelter made national news today! We hosted a wedding at the office for two of our long term volunteers - if anyone wants a warm and fuzzy happy story - I can pass along the link. My pretty face is allll over national TV - from Cali to NJ... haha!

I can't decide if I want to stay home tonight, or try to go out... hmm....

oooh, I'm going to a Rockies game tonight.  If only I could convince my sister that the bus schedules really ARE what I said.  She thinks I'm wrong.  It's only 14 blocks - we could walk it, but I'm guessing she doesn't want to do that.  Oh well, she'll see when she gets home that the bus schedules are what I said. :)

I'd love to see the link.  pm me because I won't get my idog email till Monday.  I say go out and forget the crummy part of your day and celebrate the fact that it's over. :)

Paige, I enjoy reading about WWII.  I've forgotten a lot of what I read because I first got interested 25 years ago.lol  I'm closer to that generation than you are but it is still hard for me to fathom that whole time in our country and the world. It really would be terrible for all of that to be forgotten.  John Toland is an author I really enjoy and he has some great WWII books.

Jackie, Corky is great, thanks for asking!  She gave me holy unmitigated heck last night though.  We had gone out for dinner, and when we got home I was on the phone with my Mom.  Now I ASSUMEd that they guys had gotten her out for her swim.  No such luck.  So when I went into the livingroom and sat down she realized that she wasn't going out and she lit into me like I was a demon from hell-0!  She didn't give anyone else a hard time.........

I might have to quit my DH.  I do all the paperwork, petty cash, payroll, the cleaning, the shopping for the station, you name it, I do it. Oh, and I sell and bring in the bacon.  But, today he really pushed over that fine line and had me record liners for the station.  I don't DO voice work unless I have a gun to my head.  Sigh.  And now he's wanting even more than that.  Not a happy camper, not at all.  I hate, hate, HATE my voice.

His afternoon gal is pregnant and having some major complications.  I feel really badly for her, I feel badly for him that he's up against the wall with this, but, dang it, leave ME out of it.  Somebody's gonna be sleeping on the couch.

    You tell 'em, Glenda ;)

I have NO IDEA what caused this rash - now that I look it's on the tops of my thighs, too. It looks almost like mosquito bites but not as raised...weird.

    • Gold Top Dog

what kind of cleaning chemical do you use?

We used one for a while that gave us all a pretty bad rash after a while - itched like crazy - even had one girl just about pass out (obviously we quit using that one...) but if you use something and it's not diluted properly it can really do a LOT of damage

     Jackie - pm-ing now!

where did this nasty storm come from?!? dang...

    • Gold Top Dog

Glenda, I think everyone hears their own voice totally differently than other people hear it. I hate mine too, but I've had a lot of people tell me it was pleasant, at least on the phone.  The time I talked to you on the phone I thought you had a really nice voice. Smile I'm sure everyone else who hears you thinks the same thing.
