    Mindless Chat TGIF

What, no Friday thread yet....its 8amCT.  Where is everybody?  LOL

Working from home today...yay!  This new role of mine has had me busy for the last few days.  And, I'm so happy about it too!  Busy, busy bee....thats me.  Have a great day!  I'll check in later.

I am slacking, but I can put it off no longer, heading to the garden, will report in later.

Do not be such a busy bee Barb, enjoy the day!

Having a crapola day...maybe I'll just take this afternoon off...

    • Gold Top Dog

I'm miserably sleepy.  I was awakened this morning at around 3 to the distinct smell of "dober gas."  I couldn't fall back to sleep, so now I am minimally functional.

Dawn, fingers crossed that the garden is ok.

It is sooo quiet at work today.  I think a lot of our customers must be on vacation this week, since most schools around here start up next week.  Usually I have at least a few things to keep me busy, but this week has been just soooo silent.

The new seasons of Monk and Psych start tonight!!!  I just love those shows.  My plan is wear the boys out this evening so they'll be crashed out by the time Monk starts at 9:00.  I want to be able to watch the shows in peace, lol.

So do we. We've got the DVR set to record all the episodes.

It's a gorgeous morning here but will be warming up this weekend. DH works all weekend, so I think I'll venture out and do some shopping. I feel like my brain has turned to mush from sitting around and watching so much TV. The dogs sure have loved having someone home 24/7.

Barb, I'm glad you are enjoying your new role at work!  I did get a new printer as the old one wasn't just sick, it expired completely.

Dawn, I hope the garden is destroyed.  It was so beautiful and I know how hard you've worked.  Fingers crossed that you can salvage it.

Amanda, I can't function without sleep either and I hope you can go home early and get in some nap time or at least rest time.  I know how you feel about the gf situation changing.  I feel like I am losing one of my closest friends.  Girlfriends are so important to us women and it's hard when things change and we feel ourselves losing those friendships.

I have a ton of work to do, so better get busy.  Heather, head on down if you're too bored at your place. Wink

    On my way! LOL.

Cathy, I have those two shows set up on my DVR as well.  But I still want to watch them tonight, because I'm so excited for new eps.

Now I know you didn't mean THAT!!  I too am hoping that the garden is NOT destroyed.  My beautiful seedlings, courtesy of Dawn need to be planted so have to get a garden turned up this weekend.

I'm so dragging from the past two days of running.  I try to combine my stuff and station stuff so I'm not making extra trips and using extra gas,but it really kicks my butt to leave home at 9 or so and not get back until 4:30 or 5 and still have everything to bring in and put away.  And two days in a row is way too much.  I HATE shopping.  With a purple passion!

And, of course, stuff around HERE didn't get done, so I'll be buried today.

Amanda?  How is that bite doing?

Thank you all for thinking of me.

The garden is.........ok. There was damage though. My pumpkins and squash have powdery mildew very very badly, I might be able to save the zucchini, but I believe I will lose the pumpkins, going to work very hard not to though. My corn is a goner, there is no way to save it, and that believe it or not was wind damage not rain.

The tomato's I worked on last week held there own, a few fell in the soaked earth due to weight and some are showing signs of mold growth, so will be working to get the bad stuff out before it spreads. I had to pick my romain lettuce and bok choy early, slime was starting to grow.

And the weeds, oh man the weeds grew 5 feet, I swear!

The good news is my melons are fat and sassy looking, the cabbage is doing great, so are the beans and the eggplant. Basil is out the wahzoo. I even see signs that some seeds I planted actually managed to stay, so I might get some napa cabbage and chard.

So I will spend the next 3 days weeding and weeding and weeding some more, will pull out the corn and treat my rain induced mold issue's. And then will decide if I have enough time to plant some quick growing veggies for fall. I am determined to keep going, and I want you all to know that your encouragement makes me want to. So thank you all.

Glenda, I hope those seedlings do well for you.

Well, 2nd interview down...sounds like there are about 5 more to go.  So far everything seems great.  They did say I would have to go away for 3 weeks for training.  Guess Dh and I and going on a 3 week vacation with me...I could not imagine leaving her for three weeks!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Ohh Lisa, good luck with that. A vacation to AK sounds wonderful if it eases work issue stress.

Amanda, how is that bite doing?

Thanks, Glenda.  You're right, I hope it's not destroyed.  Poor proof reading strikes again.  I also meant to tell Lisa to go home early but told Amanda. Amanda should too.  I've been sleeping good the last few nights.  I love sleep.  Glenda, what doesn't get done today will be there tomorrow.  How's Corky doing?

Cathy, I hope you don't overdo today but I think getting out will certainly cheer your spirits.  You can shop for your upcoming vacation. :)

We're going to see that Meryl Streep movie about Julia Child tomorrow. I love Julia Child and think it could be a good movie.  You never know from the previews.  Sometimes the only good parts are the ones you saw in the trailers.  Meryl is a good actress but I like her better as she ages, not quite so intense or something.  Belle passed a milestone recently.  I'm so proud of her and will post about it somewhere when I have more time.

Dawn, I was posting while you were but see that the garden isn't a total loss.  Too bad about the corn but maybe you can save the pumpkins.

Dawn - I'm sorry about the losses you had in your garden but I just know that you're going to get it all back in great shape. It sounds like you had a good amount of it survive okay, so that's a blessing. Basill = pesto = yum!!!

Lisa - Good luck with all the job interviews. They'd be lucky to have you and even if you get the job and don't love Arkansas, it doesn't have to be permanent.

Jackie - Let us know how you like the movie. I've thought it looks really good too.

DH went to the gym for over an hour, came home and ran a couple miles and then came home and has taken Sassy for a walk. Geesh, I feel like such a slug Embarrassed
