Cathy, that's so sweet!  Smile  I don't know what else to say... I'm feeling so much better now!

Awww...I'm feeling better knowing you're feeling better. I'm also feeling great cause the tile cleaning guys just left and they did an amazing job! It wasn't cheap ($300 for kitchen and master bath) but other than scrubbing it by hand myself, there were no options. Now I need to fix something to eat and maybe go do some shopping :)

Karen, have you ever tried this?  It's supposed to be organic and deter rabbits & elk as well as deer.  I've not tried it, but then I don't really have much of a garden.  I just happened to be searching for something else and ran across it.  http://www.plantskydd.com/index.html

Cathy, I'm so glad your tile was cleaned to your satisfaction.  It's worth the money, especially when you remember how hard that flooring is on your knees!  Even I cannot handle kneeling to clean hard flooring anymore.  Enjoy your shopping!

Karen, I have a recipe for your deer.

2 eggs, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tbls of cayenne pepper, 2 cups of water. puree and let sit for 2 days, then pour or spay where you don't want Rudolph and his merry band to go.

    hehe, it's worth a shot.

My boss lives in an area where deer are really a problem. They had their entire yard landscaped with non-deer type plants and trees and I guess that was a joke. He says that everywhere you look the trees and bushes are bare below the 6-7 foot level. He uses some type of urine (coyote?) spray and says that helps. I think he also has motion activated sprinklers and says that helps some too. I've seen a picture of a mama deer and her baby in his backyard and kind of thought it all be worth it to see a sight like that now and then...but I guess he doesn't agree.

14 days to go! Sadly I won't be able to go to a trial while I'm out there since my dad is working. But oh well! Wasn't like I was entered in any of them.

Now why is it when I don't have to get up in the morning, I'm awake at 8am but when I do have to get up, I sleep in past my alarm!?!?

thanks for the deer repellent suggestions ladies - Cathy I used to think deer were cute until they destroyed all my veggie plants.  I didn't even mind them eating almost all my flowers in the front bed - I can live with that but my veggies! Our area is chock full of deer so the serious gardeners have huge fences around their veggies.  I don't mind sharing but they seem to Hmm

Just saw Public Enemy - very good movie!

OMG, when I first read this I thought it was a recipe for cooking a deer.  I was thinking "shouldn't a whole deer need more than 2 cloves of garlic and 2 cups of water?"  And wouldn't it start to smell bad before 2 days? Embarrassed

Kim, try pedialyte popsicles.  I used to get them in the pharmacy section when DGS was little.  They come unfrozen and you just take them home and toss them in the freezer. Isaac used to really like them.

Yea!  I have hot  water again.  The doofus from PG&E that was here on Wednesday to check for gas leaks apparently turned off the hot water heater and forgot to get it up and running again.  It's a new self insulating heater with all sorts of little buttons and knobs, so I wound up  calling my friendly neighborhood plumber this morning.  He just happened to be on my street anyway, so he popped in and started it up ... for $50 ... but at least we won't be taking any more cold showers.

BF is seriously getting on my last nerve today.  He didn't get much sleep last night because of a late hockey game last night, and today he's tired and grumpy, and I'm getting the brunt of his bad mood.  We were just over at some friends' house...a friend of ours is on a 10 day leave from his tour in Afghanistan, and I thought BF would be his usual social self, but nope...and he was trying to be nice to everyone else, so he was not so nice to me.  So I said, screw this, I'm going home.  FYI, we're going to see our Army friend again tomorrow night, so no biggie on the short visit tonight...

But I must say, this is one of the reasons why I love dogs so much.  I came home, very unhappy because of BF's mood, and there were Sammy and Harry, ready to greet me like I was the best thing in the world, lots of kisses, etc. So we spent some time playing Frisbee in the back yard and now I'm happy again, just from seeing them so happy.

    Dogs are the BEST medicine!!

OMG!  I just read the BEST book.  Really touching.  It's James Patterson's Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas.  Awesome read.

Just couldn't stay away from the dirt today.  Repotted some house plants that needed much more room, piddled around the house a bit, read.......took a lazy day today.

Dang, that was a good book.  I highly recommend it.

Heather - I completely agree about dogs being the best medicine. They're never moody and always happy to play, play, play :)

Glenda - I thought James Patterson wrote mysteries. What was it about? I'm looking for some good books to read.

I had dinner but I'm still really hungry so I think I'm going to make chocolate chip cookies. It's kind of dangerous cause I love warm cookies and I'm alone Big Smile

James Patterson is one of my favorite authors.  He does mainly write mysteries, prominently the Alex Cross and Womens Murder Club series, but he's also written some romantic type books and also a line of childrens books.  He rocks!!

I've been collecting all his Alex Cross books in hardcover for years now.  I first read Kiss the Girls when I was in college in Chapel Hill and it was a huge deal that they were filming the movie in the Triangle and there was a big bruhaha about allowing filming on campus, blah blah.  So it piqued my interest.  It was out in paperback then, so a few years later when I lived in Boston I special-ordered the out of print hardcover version.  Then I lent it to a friend and never saw it again.  So I special ordered it again.  I've bought three copies of the same book, lol!!

I really enjoyed all the Alex Cross novels.  Some of his collaboration books are less enjoyable for me.

Cathy, warm fresh baked cookies and all alone, oh you are gonna be working your buns off for days. lol  Do it. Wink

Heather, I agree with you about the dogs and how they can just make your bad mood go away.  They are the cheapest form of feel good therapy that I know of. lol

Cathy, it's basically a love story, but with some pretty touching twists.  I picked up another one of his, Dear John, that really surprised me, and when I saw this one in the library there was no question in my mind that it would be awesome.  I was right.

Tami Hoags early works are romance, but her later stuff is mystery, which I seem to be into right now. John Sandford is pretty good too.  And I just picked up a couple John Irving that I hadn't read.  Andrew Greeley is a kick to read, but he doesn't write fast enough.....and reading his books you would NOT know that he's a Catholic priest....Same for Grissam except of course he isn't a priest.  I've read everything both have written.

But, the diary for Nicholas....wow.  I sat still for 2 hours and went cover to cover.  It's not compelling in the "what's going to happen next" kind of way, but it reaches out and touches your heart and you just won't want to put it down.  A very sad ending before the happy ending kind of deal.
